BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an imaging control apparatus and an imaging control method for driving an imaging element to image an object scene, for example, an imaging control apparatus and an imaging control method for performing imaging by long exposure and generating an image signal thereof. Is.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, when shooting a dark scene such as a night view or night sky with a camera using a silver halide photographic film, the shutter speed is slowed to set a long exposure time, or a high sensitivity film is used. Similarly, a digital still camera with a CCD image sensor can be used to capture images with a low luminance level as described above by setting the gain and gain of the signal inside the camera to a high level and changing the sensitivity setting of the camera. I was trying to shoot the world.
[0003]
However, when the shutter speed is increased, there is a problem that the accumulation of dark current increases because the charge accumulation time in the photodiode disposed in the CCD image sensor is long. In addition, when the gain for the image pickup signal is increased, the noise level is increased together with the level of the necessary pixel signal, and an image signal having a poor S / N is eventually obtained.
[0004]
In order to reduce the dark current of such a CCD chip, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-168118 discloses a pulse generation means for generating a charge readout pulse, a horizontal drive pulse, a vertical drive pulse and a reset pulse, and a drive means And a control means for controlling the presence / absence of supply, and a solid-state imaging device for controlling the supply of the drive pulse and the reset pulse to the drive means in response to the supply of the charge readout pulse is disclosed.
[0005]
In this publication, when charge is accumulated in a photodiode with an exposure time of about 1/30 seconds, supply of vertical drive pulses, horizontal drive pulses, and reset pulses to the solid-state imaging device is stopped to stop charge transfer. Therefore, heat generation and accompanying dark current are reduced. Conversely, when performing exposure for about 1/60 second, normal driving is continued without stopping these driving.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Thus, conventionally, noise in the charge transfer path and the charge detector in a relatively short time has been reduced by stopping the pulses of the drive system. However, in the above-described conventional example, since the charge transfer is stopped during the exposure period, unnecessary charges in the charge transfer path cannot be discharged during that period. Further, although unnecessary charges increase further as the exposure time becomes longer, no consideration has been given to charge discharge during the long exposure period. Therefore, when shooting a night view or a starry sky, the charge transfer is stopped when performing a long exposure of several seconds to ten or more seconds in order to give an exposure amount of, for example, 5 EV or more, more than in the daytime. Such a conventional example could not be simply adopted.
[0007]
When exposure is performed for a long time without adopting such conventional technology, the charge detector in the image sensor is driven for a long time, so that the temperature of the charge detector further rises and the temperature of the peripheral elements Also rises. For this reason, particularly in the photodiode in the imaging region in the vicinity of the charge detector, unnecessary charges due to heat are generated more than in the photodiodes in other imaging regions, causing a problem that unnecessary charges become non-uniform. The generation of unnecessary charges in this long exposure may change depending on the distance between the photodiode and the charge detector in the imaging region, the structure of the imaging device, etc. The charge increases and an electric charge independent of the amount of received light is generated.
[0008]
For example, in a shooting condition in which the exposure time is several seconds, for example, a long exposure exceeding 3 seconds, an image of a scene mainly composed of an area having a low overall luminance level such as a night view or a clear sky When obtaining an image signal, in the vicinity of the image display screen where the charge detector is disposed, the pixel level increases according to the exposure time, and the image level rises white, or an unnecessary color is generated depending on the situation. "Was conspicuously generated, and good image quality could not be obtained. As the exposure time is further prolonged, the occurrence of the fog becomes remarkable. This is not limited to night photography, and the same applies to the case where long exposure is performed by using, for example, a neutral density filter or setting a small aperture. Therefore, in the conventional dedicated photographing device for nighttime and starry sky photographing, the image pickup device is forcibly cooled by using the Peltier device, thereby preventing the temperature rise of the image pickup device and obtaining an image with less noise. Has been done. However, it is not realistic to mount such a cooling device in a digital camera that is carried and used during the day.
[0009]
Such partial fog occurs regardless of whether the exposure mode at the time of shooting is the automatic exposure mode or the manual setting exposure, and in order to maintain good image quality, The “exposure time” during which electric charges are generated is limited to be short. In this case, it is not possible to provide a camera suitable for shooting at night or the like. Further, it is difficult to remove unnecessary charges generated by such long-time exposure or to remove adverse effects from pixel signals read from the image sensor because unnecessary charges are partially generated. Thus, conventionally, it has been difficult to remove a partial increase in dark current due to heat generation of an output amplifier that performs charge detection due to long exposure, that is, dark current unevenness.
[0010]
It is an object of the present invention to provide an imaging control apparatus and an imaging control method that eliminate such disadvantages of the prior art and reduce dark current unevenness in which unnecessary charges partially increase with long-time exposure.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention transfers a light receiving means having a plurality of light receiving elements that generate signal charges according to the amount of received light, and a signal charge generated by the plurality of light receiving elements, in the vertical direction. A plurality of vertical transfer means, a horizontal transfer means for transferring signal charges from the plurality of vertical transfer means in the horizontal direction, an output means for detecting the signal charges of the horizontal transfer means and outputting an electrical signal corresponding to the signal charges; In the imaging control apparatus for driving the imaging element including the imaging element, the apparatus supplies the driving means for driving the imaging element and a first control signal for controlling the exposure time for generating the signal charge in the imaging element to the driving means. Control means, and switching means for changing the power supply voltage for driving the output means in accordance with the second control signal and supplying it to the output means. The drive means is a signal charge generated by the light receiving means during the exposure time. The A signal generating means for generating a timing signal to be transferred to the output means via the flat transfer means and the vertical transfer means, and the control means is a second control signal for controlling the switching means in accordance with the exposure time in the image sensor; Is supplied to the switching means.
[0012]
In order to solve the above-described problem, the present invention provides a light receiving unit that generates a signal charge corresponding to the amount of light received on the imaging surface, a transfer unit that transfers the signal charge, and a signal charge of the transfer unit. In an imaging control method for generating an image signal corresponding to an object field by controlling an imaging device including an output unit that detects and outputs an electrical signal corresponding to a signal charge, the method includes an exposure time for the light receiving unit. It is determined whether it is a predetermined long exposure, and when it is determined that it is a long exposure, the driving voltage for driving the imaging means is driven at a lower voltage than in the normal driving, and the exposure time is reached. When the signal voltage generated by the light receiving means is read as an electrical signal, the image pickup device is driven by returning the drive voltage to the drive voltage for normal driving.
[0013]

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, even when long-time exposure exceeding a predetermined time is performed, a partial increase in temperature due to the heat generated by the output unit that performs charge detection is reduced, and the temperature of each light receiving element is reduced. Can be maintained at a uniform temperature, so that partial luminance unevenness, fogging, and the like in the image pickup signal are prevented, and a photographed image with a long exposure can be improved. Therefore, even in night shooting or shooting with a small aperture setting, the slow shutter with a longer open time can be released, and partial image quality degradation is prevented even when long bulb shooting is performed. Therefore, it is possible to perform shooting under a wide range of shooting conditions from a high shutter speed to a low shutter speed.
