BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric transformer used for a high voltage power source for lighting a backlight of a liquid crystal display device.
[0002]

[0008]
The present invention has been made in view of such problems of the prior art, and an object thereof is to provide a high-performance piezoelectric transformer in which variations in element characteristics are suppressed.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
That is, according to the present invention, there is provided a piezoelectric transformer in which an input portion is formed on one half of a longitudinal direction of a rectangular plate-shaped piezoelectric body and an output portion is formed on the other,
The resonance frequency (f 1 ) in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric transformer measured through the electrode formed in the input unit, the terminal formed by short-circuiting the electrode formed in the input unit, and the electrode formed in the output unit The difference (| f 1 −f 2 |) of the resonance frequency (f 2 ) in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric transformer measured in this way is the larger of the resonance frequency (f 1 ) and the resonance frequency (f 2 ). The piezoelectric transformer is characterized by being 2% or less.
[0010]
As described above, the resonance frequency in the longitudinal direction measured by inputting signals to the two electrodes of the input unit, and the signal input to the terminals of the two terminals on the primary side and the electrodes of the output unit were measured. When the difference from the resonance frequency in the longitudinal direction is small, variations in characteristics such as step-up ratio and conversion efficiency from element to element become small. And a device with such a piezoelectric transformer has less variation in quality. For example, an impedance gain phase analyzer can be used to measure the resonance frequency.
[0011]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the piezoelectric transformer of the present invention will be described by taking the laminated

Here, when the area of the front and back main surfaces of the piezoelectric transformer to be manufactured is small, it is also preferable to adjust the size of the printing sheet so that a plurality of piezoelectric transformers are included therein.
[0015]
A paste for forming the internal electrode 42 (hereinafter referred to as “internal electrode paste”) is printed on a half region in the longitudinal direction of the printing sheet using a screen printing method or the like. Here, when printing the internal electrode paste, for example, the printing thickness is adjusted to be about 2 to 5 μm after firing. Further, it is desirable to determine a pattern for printing the internal electrode paste so that the internal electrodes to be formed can be easily connected every other layer thereafter. In this embodiment, a silver (Ag) / palladium (Pd) (mass ratio: 70/30) paste was used as the internal electrode paste.
[0016]
On the other half of the printing sheet on which the internal electrode paste is not printed, a paste containing a small amount of a predetermined additive element (hereinafter referred to as “trace element paste”) is printed with a predetermined thickness. Examples of the additive element include iron oxide (Fe 2 O 3 ), manganese oxide (MnO), and niobium oxide (Nb 2 O 5 ). In the present embodiment, the piezoelectric ceramic powder used for the production of the green sheet is three kinds of trace element pastes containing only one kind of oxide of these additive elements, and the addition amount of trace elements for each type Were prepared for printing. As such a trace element paste, a resin paste prepared by adding a predetermined amount of these oxides to a resin having a predetermined viscosity can be used.

The printing sheets on which the internal electrode paste and the trace element paste are printed are aligned and laminated, for example, 21 sheets, and the laminated printing sheets are thermocompression-bonded using a hot press or the like to be integrated. Next, the press body thus obtained is fired under predetermined conditions, and the side and surface of the obtained fired body are subjected to grinding and polishing as necessary to adjust the shape.

The deviation ratio shown in Table 1 is a percentage obtained by dividing the absolute value of the difference between the resonance frequencies f 1 and f 2 by the value of the resonance frequency having the larger value. in sample 11 not printed with the trace elements paste, the value of the resonance frequency f 2 with respect to the resonance frequency f 1 is small, the deviation ratio is as large as 4.46%. This is because, in the sample 11, when the laminate is sintered, silver diffuses from the silver / palladium paste used as the internal electrode paste to the piezoelectric body, and the

The method of manufacturing the
[0025]
Other methods for matching the resonance frequencies f 1 and f 2 will be briefly described below. The first method is a method in which a predetermined amount of an additive element is added to the piezoelectric ceramic powder used for producing the green sheet. In this case, if the change in the piezoelectric characteristics of the
[0026]
However, even when an additive element that changes the properties in the same direction as the property change due to silver is used, the effect of the additive is limited only when the addition amount is within a predetermined range, and even if an additive of a certain amount or more is added. Characteristics may not change. As described above, the resonance frequencies f 1 and f 2 can be matched by using a material that does not affect the characteristics of the additive element.
[0027]
The second method is a method for controlling the form of the internal electrode. For example, usually, even though minute holes (voids) are formed in some places as a result, the internal electrode paste is printed on the printing sheet so as to form a uniform metal film over the entire surface. for example, an electrode pattern to be printed in the mesh shape, resulting in changing the capacitance by reducing the internal electrode area, thereby it is possible to shift the resonance frequency f 1.
[0028]
The third method is a method for controlling the firing atmosphere and the firing profile (firing pattern). Generally, when manufacturing a piezoelectric transformer, a plurality of laminated bodies are fired simultaneously to produce a sintered body. At this time, firing unevenness may occur depending on the temperature distribution inside the firing furnace used for firing and the arrangement position of the laminated body, which may cause a difference in resonance frequencies f 1 and f 2 to increase. By preventing such a situation by controlling the firing atmosphere and the firing profile, it is possible to match the resonance frequencies f 1 and f 2 .
[0029]
As mentioned above, although embodiment of this invention has been described, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment. The present invention has been found that, in the piezoelectric transformer, when the values of the resonance frequencies f 1 and f 2 are close to each other, good characteristics can be obtained in efficiency and the variation between elements is small. That is, the method for obtaining such a piezoelectric transformer with little variation in characteristics is not limited to the various methods described above.
[0030]
In the above embodiment, the multilayer
[0031]
Therefore, for example, by using a method of shifting the resonance frequency f 1 by changing the capacitance of the
[0032]
In addition, as a method for manufacturing a rectangular plate-shaped piezoelectric ceramic, generally, a press die composed of a lower die and an upper die is used, a predetermined amount of ceramic powder is filled in the lower die, and the upper die is placed over the main die. A method of applying a uniaxial pressure to form a predetermined shape is employed. In this case, when filling the piezoelectric ceramic powder for the first time, the groove portion for filling the powder formed in the lower mold is divided into two in the longitudinal direction by a thin film or the like, and the input portion and the output portion A predetermined amount of a piezoelectric ceramic powder containing an additive element and a piezoelectric ceramic powder not containing an additive element are added to each portion, and the surface of the piezoelectric ceramic powder is smoothed by applying vibration to the lower mold. Next, when the film is pulled out and the lower mold is vibrated to fill the gap where the film is removed by the flow of the piezoelectric ceramic powder and then covered with the upper mold, the composition is different in the longitudinal direction. Piezoelectric ceramics that have been molded and fired can be obtained. Accordingly, the resonance frequencies f 1 and f 2 can be matched.
[0033]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a piezoelectric transformer having excellent characteristics and small variations in characteristics by bringing the resonance frequencies f 1 and f 2 of the piezoelectric transformer close to each other so as to satisfy a predetermined condition. This makes it possible to improve the reliability of the piezoelectric transformer itself and to improve the reliability of various devices equipped with the piezoelectric transformer.
