Description
The present invention relates to an ASK receiving circuit used for receiving an ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) modulated signal and restoring transmission data from the received signal.
Conventionally, an in-vehicle device used in an ETC system (Electronic Toll Collection system) receives a transmission signal (an ASK-modulated signal) from a road device, as shown in FIG. An ASK receiving circuit 60 as shown is provided. FIG. 6A is a block diagram showing a configuration of a general ASK reception circuit 60 mounted on the vehicle-mounted device and an ASK transmission circuit 50 provided on the roadside device side.
As shown in FIG. 6 (a), the ASK transmission circuit 50 provided in the roadside device takes in the transmission data S1 through a low pass filter (LPF) 51, and the mixer 54 takes the transmission data S2 and the local data. By mixing the carrier wave output from the oscillator 52, the carrier wave is ASK modulated with the
On the other hand, the vehicle-mounted device is provided with a receiving
The received signal (ie, IF signal) S4 frequency-converted in this way is amplified by the
The detection signal S6 detected by the envelope detection by the
That is, since the ratio of the high / low signal level (that is, the duty ratio) of the transmission data S1 is 50%, the ASK reception circuit 60 generates the average voltage of the detection signal S6 as the reference voltage S7, By comparing the reference voltage S7 and the detection signal S6, a pulse signal (binary signal) Sout having a duty ratio of 50% corresponding to the transmission data S1 is generated.
The pulse signal Sout is output to a data processing unit (not shown) as a data signal obtained by restoring the transmission data S1.
By the way, in the ASK receiving circuit 60 shown in FIG. 6A, the
However, in the ASK receiving circuit 60 using the
That is, for example, FIG. 7A shows the signal waveforms of the signals S1 to S7 and Sout in the ASK transmission / reception circuits 50 and 60 shown in FIG. On the other hand, the IF signal S4 input to the
For this reason, if the IF signal is envelope-detected and the detected signal S6 is compared with the reference voltage S7, which is the average voltage of the detected signal S6, the duty ratio of the finally obtained pulse signal Sout is: This results in a problem that the transmission data S1 cannot be normally restored in the subsequent data processing unit.
On the other hand, as a technique for preventing this problem, as shown in FIG. 6B, a
In other words, in the proposed ASK receiving circuit 70, as shown in FIG. 7B, the detection signal S6 is corrected by the
However, in the proposed ASK receiving circuit 70, since the clip voltage is fixed to a constant voltage, the clip voltage is deviated from the optimum value due to variations in characteristics of the
The
For this reason, even if the clip voltage is set within the signal input range in which the ideal input / output characteristics can be obtained in the
If the duty ratio of the pulse signal Sout deviates from 50% in this way, a bit error is likely to occur when performing bit determination of the transmission data S1, and therefore ASK is required to ensure the reception accuracy of the transmission data S1. The characteristics of the
The present invention has been made in view of these problems. A pulse signal corresponding to transmission data is generated by receiving an ASK-modulated signal, amplifying the received signal with a logarithmic amplifier, and comparing it with a reference voltage. An object of the ASK receiving circuit is to prevent the duty ratio of a pulse signal from deviating from 50% due to variations in logarithmic amplifiers, fluctuations in received power, etc., and to restore transmission data with high accuracy.
In the ASK receiving circuit according to
In the present invention, the reference voltage used by the comparison circuit to generate the pulse signal is generated by the reference voltage generation circuit using the peak level detection means and the average level detection means. That is, in the present invention, the peak level detection means and the average level detection means detect the peak level and the average level of the detection signal output from the detection circuit, respectively, and the reference voltage generation circuit is detected by each of these detection means. A reference voltage is generated based on the peak level and the average level.
Therefore, according to the ASK receiver circuit of the present invention, the reference voltage compared with the detection signal in the comparison circuit changes according to the average level of the detection signal and the peak level of the detection signal, and the peak level is As it increases, the reference voltage also increases.
For this reason, the reference voltage is set to a higher voltage as the received power of the received signal is higher and the compression rate in the high level region of the received signal is larger, and the duty ratio of the pulse signal is 50% of the normal value. It is possible to prevent deviation.
In the present invention, as in the ASK receiving circuit shown in FIG. 6B, the detection signal is not generated by clipping and averaging the detection signal with a constant clip voltage, but the peak of the detection signal. A reference voltage is generated using the level and the average level.
Since the peak level and average level of the detection signal vary depending on the characteristics of the logarithmic amplifier and the usage conditions of the logarithmic amplifier, according to the present invention, the reference voltage can be It can be set according to the usage conditions of the logarithmic amplifier, and in order to improve the restoration accuracy of the transmission data in the ASK receiving circuit, variation in the characteristics of the logarithmic amplifier is suppressed, or the use range thereof is limited. There is no need. Therefore, according to the present invention, the cost of the ASK receiving circuit can be reduced and the usable range can be expanded.
Here, when the reference voltage is generated by the reference voltage generating means, for example, the reference voltage is generated by adding the peak level and the average level and multiplying the addition result by a predetermined coefficient. In order to be able to set the reference voltage to a more optimal value, the reference voltage is generated by adding the peak level and the average level at a predetermined ratio as described in
Specifically, for example, the reference voltage may be generated by multiplying the peak level and the average level by predetermined coefficients K1 and K2, respectively, and adding the multiplied values.
In this way, a voltage value obtained by weighting and adding either the peak level or the average level can be set as the reference voltage, and the voltage obtained by simply adding the peak level and the average level. Compared to the case where the reference voltage is set based on the value, a more optimal voltage value corresponding to the characteristics of the logarithmic amplifier can be set as the reference voltage.
In this case, the ratio between the peak level and the average level when generating the reference voltage (in other words, the above-described coefficients K1 and K2) is actually output from the comparison circuit as described in claim 3. What is necessary is just to set the value calculated | required by experiment or simulation so that the duty ratio of the pulse signal to be set to 50%.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration of an ASK reception circuit 20 according to the embodiment.
The ASK receiving circuit 20 according to the present embodiment is incorporated in the vehicle-mounted device used in the ETC system, similar to the ASK receiving circuits 60 and 70 shown in FIGS. 6A and 6B, and is shown in FIG. To receive the transmission radio wave transmitted from the ASK transmission circuit 50 on the roadside side by the receiving
For this reason, the ASK receiving circuit 20 of the present embodiment is amplified by a low noise amplifier (LNA) 4 and an
Further, the ASK receiving circuit 20 of the present embodiment integrates (in other words, averages) the detection signal S6 as a circuit for generating the reference voltage S11 used by the
The peak voltage S10 and the average voltage S7 output from each of the
That is, in this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2, until the detection signal S6 is generated by the
In the present embodiment, the ratio between the peak voltage S10 and the average voltage S7 used to generate the reference voltage S11 (that is, the coefficients K1 and K2) is equal to the duty ratio of the pulse signal Sout output from the
For this reason, according to the ASK receiving circuit 20 of the present embodiment, the optimum value between the average voltage S7 and the peak voltage S10 of the detection signal S6 is set as the reference voltage S11, and is output from the
In addition, since the duty ratio of the pulse signal Sout can be set to 50%, it is possible to prevent a bit error from occurring when performing the bit determination of the transmission data in the subsequent data processing unit, and improve the reception accuracy of the transmission data. be able to.
In this embodiment, the reference voltage S9 is generated by averaging the clip signal S8 obtained by clipping the detection signal S6 with a constant clip voltage as in the ASK receiving circuit 70 shown in FIG. 6B. Instead, the reference voltage S11 is generated using the peak voltage S10 and the average voltage S7 of the detection signal S6.
Since the peak voltage S10 and the average voltage S7 of the detection signal S6 change according to variations in characteristics of the logarithmic amplifier and the usage conditions of the logarithmic amplifier, according to the present embodiment, the reference voltage S11 is changed to the logarithmic amplifier. 10 characteristics and the usage conditions of the
Therefore, according to the present invention, the cost of the ASK receiving circuit can be reduced and the usable range can be expanded.
Hereinafter, this effect will be specifically described.
First, the relationship between the input power [dBm] to the
That is, for example, as shown in FIG. 3B, a region (B) in which the input power to the
Therefore, the input power to the
4A, 4B, and 4C show measurement results when the input power to the
From this measurement result, in the ASK receiving circuit 70 of the
On the other hand, in the ASK receiving circuit 20 of this embodiment, even if the input power to the
Therefore, according to the ASK receiving circuit 20 of the present embodiment, the duty ratio of the pulse signal Sout can be controlled to about 50% even if the received power of the received signal varies, compared to the ASK receiving circuit 70 of the
In the ASK receiving circuit 20 of the present embodiment, the reference voltage S11 is set by multiplying the peak voltage S10 and the average voltage S7 by coefficients K1 and K2, respectively, and adding the multiplication results. Therefore, in order to be able to set the reference voltage S11 so that the duty ratio of the pulse signal Sout is 50%, the coefficients K1 and K2 to be multiplied by the peak voltage S10 and the average voltage S7 (in other words, the reference voltage S11 is set). The ratio of the voltage values S10 and S7 at the time of adjustment may be adjusted, and the adjustment can be easily performed.
In the present embodiment, the
As mentioned above, although one Embodiment of this invention was described, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment, A various aspect can be taken within the technical scope of this invention.
For example, in the above embodiment, the reference voltage V11 has been described as being generated using the
That is, in the circuit shown in FIG. 5, one end is connected to the transmission path of the detection signal S6 from the detection circuit to the
Moreover, the peak hold circuit as the peak level detecting means is
1) a PNP transistor T1 having a base connected to the transmission path of the detection signal S6, an emitter connected to a power supply line (positive voltage) via a resistor R2, and a collector grounded to the ground line;
2) an NPN transistor T2 having a base connected to the emitter of the PNP transistor T1, a collector connected to the power supply line, and an emitter grounded to the ground line via the resistor R3;
3) a capacitor C2 connected in parallel to the resistor R3;
It is composed of
Therefore, in the circuit shown in FIG. 5, the current flowing from the NPN transistor T2 into the parallel circuit of the resistor R3 and the capacitor C2 is controlled via the PNP transistor T1, and the signal level (voltage) of the detection signal S6 is applied to the capacitor C2. ) Is accumulated, and the voltage across the capacitor C2 becomes a voltage corresponding to the peak level of the detection signal S6 (that is, the peak voltage S10).
The voltage across the capacitor C2 (peak voltage S10) and the voltage across the capacitor C1 constituting the integrating circuit (that is, the average voltage S7) constitute the
The resistors R4 and R5 add these voltages S10 and S7 and input them to the
Therefore, even if the reference voltage S11 is generated using the circuit shown in FIG. 5, the duty ratio of the pulse signal Sout is 50% using the peak voltage S10 and the average voltage S7 of the detection voltage. The reference voltage S11 can be set, and an ASK receiving circuit that can obtain the same effect as the above embodiment can be configured.
On the other hand, although the ASK receiving circuit 20 of the above embodiment has been described as being mounted on an on-board unit of an ETC system, the present invention is not limited to an ASK receiving circuit for an ETC system, and an ASK modulated signal is transmitted. A receiving ASK receiving circuit can be applied in the same manner as the above embodiment to obtain the same effect.
