【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a position adjustment device for a large-screen image display device, and more particularly to a position adjustment device for a large-screen image display device that calibrates a projected image when an image is displayed on a large screen.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, a projection display device includes a projection device and a projection material. A slide projector or a projection device is used as the projection device, and a highly reflective screen or a wall surface of a building is used as the projection material. The image is displayed by projecting the image onto the projection material by a projection device. As described above, in order to display an image, an image to be projected and displayed must be prepared in advance. However, an image having high flatness such as a photographic image is usually used due to restrictions of a photographing apparatus such as a camera. .
[0003]
Since the projection optical system is based on a planar image, the projection material is often required to have a planar shape. Therefore, a photographic image or the like is projected onto a substantially planar screen or wall surface. As described above, when projecting an image onto a substantially planar screen or wall, it is conceivable to increase the projection area and project a large image in order to increase the presence.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in order to project a large image, accurate latitude and longitude must be set from the projection side. Therefore, when assembling the screen or setting the position of the projection apparatus, it is necessary to adjust the assembling and setting while displaying an actual image or a test pattern image, and the adjustment work is complicated and takes a long time. It will be.
[0005]
Even if the screen has been adjusted, the display image is not displayed uniformly if the settings on the projection side, that is, the projection apparatus are various.
[0006]
An object of the present invention is to obtain a position adjustment device for an image display device for a large screen that can optimally project an image on a large screen that is a projection target surface such as a screen in consideration of the above facts.
[0007]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides:Latitude lines, longitude lines, or grid-like latitude lines and longitude lines are emitted so that planes that include adjacent straight lines that have substantially constant angular intervals in the latitude direction, and adjacent that have substantially constant angular intervals in the longitude direction A curved screen comprising a plurality of projection target members in which a light emitting medium that emits light by irradiation with light is formed at a plurality of curved positions where at least one of the surfaces including the matching straight lines and a curved surface on the projection side intersect. The light emitting medium emits light by the light irradiation,Corresponding to each of a screen in which a plurality of straight lines are formed at predetermined intervals in different directions on the projection side, and a divided area obtained by dividing a predetermined image display area on the screen, and each corresponding A plurality of projecting means for projecting each image so that a part of the image overlaps at least near the boundary between adjacent divided areas, and an image to be projected on the screen corresponds to each of the projecting means And a control unit that controls each of the projection units so that each of the divided images is projected by the corresponding projection unit. A storage unit for storing a reference image corresponding to the straight line having the predetermined interval, and a control unit for controlling the control unit to project the reference image from each of the projection units. For reference image to shadow, it is characterized in that and a adjusting means for adjusting the position on the screen.
Further, the reference image is an image made up of lines in which latitude lines and longitude lines are arranged in a grid pattern.
[0008]
A large-screen image display apparatus to which the present invention is applicable includes a screen, a plurality of projection means, and a control means. In order to clarify the position of the screen when displaying an image, a plurality of straight lines are formed at predetermined intervals. The straight lines are formed at predetermined intervals in a plurality of different directions on the projection side. The straight line is not limited to being continuous, and may be a dotted line, a combination of a point and a line segment, or only a point. Further, the straight line may be formed in advance or may appear only at the time of adjustment. The projection means corresponds to each of the divided areas obtained by dividing a predetermined image display area on the screen. Each projecting unit projects an image so that a part of the image overlaps in the vicinity of the boundary between the adjacent divided areas at least including the corresponding divided areas. The image to be projected on the screen is controlled by the control means. The control means divides one image so as to correspond to each of the projection means, and causes each of the divided images to be projected by the corresponding projection means.
[0009]
In order to accurately project an image on the screen, the relative relationship between the screen and the projection means must be constant. For this reason, a reference image corresponding to the straight line with the predetermined interval is prepared in advance and stored in the storage means. Then, the adjustment unit controls the control unit to project the reference image from each of the projection units. This adjusting means is for adjusting the position of the reference image to be projected on the screen. Therefore, the position of the reference image can be adjusted on the screen. As a result, the state of each of the plurality of projection means can be adjusted so that the projected image corresponds to a straight line having a predetermined interval. Thereby, the projected image and the straight line with a predetermined interval correspond to each other, for example, coincide with each other, and the relative relationship between the screen and the projection unit can be set constant. As a result, each image projected from the plurality of projection means is displayed as one image as if it was projected onto the screen by one projection means without causing any positional deviation or size deviation.
[0010]
The screen is formed in a curved surface shape having a focal point, and a light-emitting medium that emits light by light irradiation is formed at a plurality of positions where a straight line having a substantially constant solid angle from the focal point should reach the projection side. A curved screen characterized by including a projection target member can be employed.
[0011]
That is, the screen provided in the large-screen image display apparatus to which the present invention can be applied is suitable for a screen having a curved surface such as a curved screen having a focus. Curved surfaces such as curved screens are often difficult to construct with the same member and are often assembled separately into a plurality of parts. For this reason, the latitude and longitude equal to each part is displayed, and after assembling, each of the images projected from the plurality of projection means is adjusted. Thereby, for example, the same latitude and longitude can be displayed on a curved surface such as a curved screen having a focal point, and the position of each projected image can be easily adjusted based on the same latitude and longitude.
[0012]
The adjusting means includes at least one of a position of the image to be projected on the screen in at least one direction, a position of the rotation direction of the image to be projected, and a size of the image to be projected.AdjustCan.
[0013]
That is, the image projected by the projection means is a relative position on the screen, and has a degree of freedom in a relative position and a relative direction (for example, the direction of the projection optical axis) with respect to one direction. As this degree of freedom, the screen is adjusted by adjusting the orientation of the image in at least one of the left, right, front, back, top and bottom directions, the rotation direction thereof, and the rotation direction about a predetermined direction (for example, the projection axis direction). The image position on the top can be easily adjusted.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an example of an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the present embodiment, the present invention is applied to a wide viewing angle visual simulator.
[0015]
Hereinafter, an example of an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the present embodiment, the present invention is applied to a wide viewing angle visual simulator.
[0016]
In a space for presentations such as exhibitions and event venues, images are often presented, and two-dimensional images such as photographic images and CG are often used for the images. In this case, the planar display on the screen or the like is merely an enlargement of the two-dimensional image and does not provide an image display with a visual presence. Therefore, with the intention of taking into account the visual sensation of realism, we have found that it is effective to project and display a two-dimensional image on a curved surface for display on a large screen. FIG. 12 schematically shows the brightness distribution of an image projected from one liquid crystal projector. The brightness distribution of an image projected from this liquid crystal projector assumes that another image is projected on the periphery (eight sides). Specifically, the
[0044]
The partial area Pc is an area of a single projection image in which projection images from surrounding liquid crystal projectors do not overlap. Therefore, the projection image of the partial area Pc is projected while maintaining the brightness of the input image as it is 100%. Considering the brightness in the vertical direction with respect to this partial area Pc, the partial area Pcu is an area for overlapping the projection image from the upper liquid crystal projector, and the projection image of the partial area Pcu is the input image. The brightness is projected with a characteristic having a predetermined gradient distribution. The partial area Pcd is an area for overlapping the projection images from the lower liquid crystal projector, and the projection image of the partial area Pcd projects the brightness of the input image with a characteristic that has a predetermined gradient distribution. It will be. Accordingly, the brightness characteristic in the vertical direction is set to the characteristic 66 shown in the left part of FIG.
[0045]
The partial areas Pl, Pl, Pld, Pr, Pru, and Prd are the same as the partial areas Pc, Pcu, and Pcd in terms of brightness in the vertical direction. Assuming that the partial area Plu is an area for overlapping two projection images from the upper liquid crystal projector, the brightness when the projection images overlap is the brightness of the original projection image. The value should be For example, a value obtained by dividing the upper limit value of the brightness distribution of the partial region Pcu by the number of overlapping images may be used. Since the same applies to the partial areas Pld, Pru, and Prd, the description thereof is omitted.
[0046]
Next, considering the brightness in the left-right direction with respect to the partial area Pc, the partial area Pl is an area for overlapping the projection image from the left liquid crystal projector, and the projection image of the partial area Pl is The brightness of the input image is projected with a characteristic having a predetermined gradient distribution. The partial area Pr is an area for overlapping the projection image from the right liquid crystal projector, and the projection image of the partial area Pr is projected with a characteristic that the brightness of the input image has a predetermined gradient distribution. Will do. Therefore, the brightness characteristic in the left-right direction is set to the characteristic 68 shown in the lower part of FIG.
[0047]
The partial areas Plu, Pcu, Pru and Pld, Pcd, Prd are the same as the partial areas Pl, Pc, Pr when viewed in terms of brightness in the left-right direction. Assuming that the partial region Pl is a region for overlapping two projection images from the left liquid crystal projector, the brightness when the projection images overlap is the brightness of the original projection image. The value should be For example, a value obtained by dividing the upper limit value of the brightness distribution of the partial region Pl by the number of overlapping images may be used. Since the same applies to the partial areas Pld, Pru, and Prd, the description thereof is omitted.
[0048]
The brightness characteristics of each partial area can be determined by combining the brightness distribution in the vertical direction and the brightness distribution in the horizontal direction. Therefore, for each of the

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, a reference image corresponding to a straight line with a predetermined interval stored in advance in the storage unit is projected from each of the projection units, and the position of the projection image on the screen is adjusted by the adjustment unit. As a result, the relative relationship between the screen and the projection means can be set to be constant, and each image projected from the plurality of projection means is projected onto the screen by one projection means without any positional deviation or size deviation. There is an effect that the image can be displayed as one image.
