Description
The present invention relates to an X-ray CT apparatus that controls the tube current of an X-ray tube that irradiates a subject with X-rays according to the state of the subject.
In recent years, with the widespread use of X-ray CT apparatuses, the image quality of tomographic images acquired with the X-ray CT apparatuses is being demanded to be higher. Under these circumstances, the amount of X-rays irradiated to the subject is optimized in accordance with the imaging region of the subject. Here, the state of the subject differs in the imaging region, particularly in the head, lung field, and abdomen, and the amount of X-ray irradiation that gives the same noise is also different.
However, according to the above background art, noise changes due to body movement of the subject. That is, the subject undergoes unavoidable body movements such as heartbeat or lung respiration even during imaging, and changes in the shape of the organ due to these body movements result in an optimal change in the tube current value, and thus CT. The noise of the tomographic image to be taken also changes.
Regarding the breathing of the subject, it is possible to temporarily stop and perform CT imaging during that time. However, stopping breathing is an operation that is a burden on the subject in some cases, and is not always preferable.

Returning to FIG. 2, the optimum tube current value calculation means 82 uses the scout image information acquired by the scout image acquisition means 81 to perform integration means for obtaining an optimum tube current value for each different phase of the heart and for each different imaging region. Including. Here, the integration means calculates the sum of pixel values for different phases and different imaging regions of the scout image including the heart, and calculates a tube current value proportional to the sum (for example, see Patent Document 1).
FIG. 5 shows the optimum tube current value calculating means 82 using the scout images of the four different phases and the different imaging regions a to d indicated by the acquisition time phases t0 to t3 shown in FIGS. 4 (B) and (C). It is a figure which shows the example of the optimal tube current value table 14 acquired by these. The optimum tube current value table 14 shows optimum tube current values A ij (i, j = 1 to 4) for the time phases t0 to t3 and the imaging regions a to d.
Returning to FIG. 2, the projection
The phase prediction means obtains a repetition period F from the R wave interval of the electrocardiogram waveform, uses this period F to predict the phase of the heart during CT imaging, and considers the phase of the heart during imaging simultaneously with the imaging region. Determine the current value. The second phase synchronization means starts imaging in synchronization with the R wave of the electrocardiogram waveform.
Here, as an example, consider a scan plan in which the imaging regions a to d shown in FIG. 4C are subjected to an axial scan in this order. First, the phase predicting means calculates the imaging start times of the imaging regions b to d in consideration of one imaging time and the movement time of the

Next, the operation of the X-ray CT apparatus according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing the operation of the X-ray CT apparatus according to the first embodiment.
First, the operator places the subject 1 on the cradle 12 (step S701), and sets the
Thereafter, the operator performs a scout scan of the subject 1 and acquires scout image information for each phase of the heart (step S703). Then, the operator inputs the scan plan while displaying the scout image information on the display device 68 (step S704). Further, the
Thereafter, the
As described above, in the first embodiment, the

Here, for example, the first phase synchronization means sets the intake state in which a large electric signal is stably output as the scout image information acquisition start phase 10. Then, the first phase synchronization means repeatedly acquires abdominal scout image information in different phases in the time phases 11 to 12 after a predetermined time interval K. FIG. 8B shows a time-series scout image information collection signal used when acquiring scout image information. This figure has the same time axis as the respiration waveform of FIG. 8A on the horizontal axis, and the collected signal of time phase l0 is generated in synchronization with the detection of the inspiration state. Thereafter, the collected signals of the time phases 11 and 12 with a certain time interval K are generated based on the collected signal of the time phase l0. The time interval K and the number of collected signals are set by the operator from the
FIG. 8C is a diagram schematically showing scout images 90 to 93 in the imaging region including the abdomen acquired in the time phases 10 to 12. For example, the scout image 90 acquired at the time phase l0 corresponds to the abdominal diastole, and the scout image 91 acquired at the time phase l1 corresponds to the abdominal systole. The scout images 90 to 92 show how the liver part moves as the diaphragm moves up and down. Further, the shooting areas e to h indicated by dotted lines in the scout images 90 to 92 are areas having a width th in the depth direction, which are present at a position common to all the scout images and acquired by one shooting. . The optimum tube current value calculation means 82 calculates the optimum tube current value table similar to that shown in FIG. 5 using the scout images 90 to 92, and an optimum tube current value change table is created based on the scan plan. CT imaging is performed using this optimum tube current value change table.
In the first embodiment, the case where CT imaging is performed by an axial scan is shown, but a helical scan can be used in exactly the same manner. In the case of the helical scan, since the imaging region continuously changes in the depth direction as the
(Embodiment 2)
By the way, in the second embodiment, when CT imaging is started, the heart motion is synchronized, and then the optimum tube current value is appropriately controlled in accordance with the expected heart phase. The ECG waveform is sampled every time, the optimum tube current value that matches the heart phase indicated by the ECG waveform is determined in real time, and the CT using the optimum tube current value is determined. You can also shoot. Therefore, the second embodiment shows a case where the optimum tube current value for each CT imaging is determined in real time.
FIG. 9 is a block diagram showing a configuration of the projection information acquisition unit 88 according to the second embodiment. This corresponds to the projection information acquisition means 83 shown in FIG. 2, and the other configurations and operations are the same as those in FIGS.
The projection information acquisition unit 88 includes a tube current value

As described above, in the second embodiment, the projection information acquisition unit 88 is provided with the tube current value
