Description
The present invention relates to an electronic device in which a plurality of types of battery units can be mounted, a control method thereof, and a program.
Modern cameras generally operate with battery power, but recent batteries communicate with the camera body and send battery information such as battery capacity, battery voltage, discharge current, and battery deterioration level to the camera. It is possible to do.
In other words, a microcomputer IC or the like having a communication function is mounted in a battery, and battery information is exchanged by connecting a communication terminal added to a power supply terminal to a microcomputer IC inside the camera. The camera displays battery information obtained by communication on the camera.
Since such a battery is a consumable item, the user purchases a spare battery so as not to miss a photographing opportunity, but there are non-regulated batteries whose communication contents do not satisfy the prescribed specifications.
If such a non-standard battery is mounted and the camera body is operated, accurate battery information cannot be obtained, and a normal power supply cannot be expected, and the camera may break down.
In the conventional camera described above, when an unspecified battery is inserted, the camera uniformly prohibits the use of the unspecified battery. However, even if this non-standard battery is used as a power source, there may be a battery that does not interfere with the camera body, and it is not preferable to uniformly prohibit the use of this non-standard battery.
The non-regulated battery includes a battery having the same performance form as that of a regular battery but having no communication function. It is desirable for the camera body to operate even with a battery that normally supplies only power without mounting such a communication microcomputer IC.
In addition, even a genuine battery may be unable to communicate due to a failure or the like. In this case, it is desirable to display a warning on the camera and prohibit the photographing operation.
The present invention has been made in view of such a problem, and provides an electronic device, a control method, and a program for determining battery capacity and performing an operation according to each battery capacity. With the goal.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides an electronic device to which a plurality of types of battery units can be attached, a communication terminal for performing communication with the attached battery unit, and the communication terminal. Communication means for communicating with the battery unit, first determination means for determining whether or not there is a response from the battery unit, and a response from the battery unit by the first determination means. A second determination unit that determines whether or not a response from the battery unit is correct, a voltage detection unit that detects a voltage of the communication terminal to which the battery unit is connected, When it is determined by the first determination means that there is no response from the battery unit, it is determined whether or not the voltage of the communication terminal detected by the voltage detection means has reached a specified voltage. And third determination means, based on the determination result of the determination result or the third judging means of the second determination means, and having a control means for controlling the operation of the electronic device.
According to the present invention, it is possible to determine a regular battery, a non-standard battery, a non-communication battery, and a faulty battery, and an electronic device suitable for each battery can be operated.

FIG. 3 shows the waveform (A) of the camera transmission signal transmitted from the

FIG. 12 shows the waveform (A) of the camera transmission signal transmitted from the
When the
The
On the other hand, since the
In
In step S318, it is determined that the battery unit attached to the
(S314)。 Thereafter, notice of notice and notice of maker service information are made (S313), and a transition is made to a shooting operation stop mode in which no shooting operation is performed (S314).
When the shooting operation stop mode is entered, the operation of the
As described above, in the battery mounting process shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the communication content included in the response signal from the battery unit is checked (step S303), and the voltage of the
Next, with reference to FIG. 13 and FIG. 14, the non-regulated battery operation mode shifted in step S312 of FIG. 4 will be described.
FIG. 13 is a graph showing the discharge process of the regular battery unit, and FIG. 14 is a graph showing the discharge process of the nonstandard battery unit. In FIGS. 13 and 14, the vertical axis represents the battery voltage V, and the horizontal axis represents the elapsed time. The
As shown in FIG. 13, when the regular battery unit is discharged, the battery voltage V at no load changes as shown by a
The
When the regular battery unit is further discharged, the
On the other hand, non-regulated battery units may have low reliability such as communication contents and remaining battery level data, and some have a problem with the battery voltage output from the non-regulated battery units. For example, as shown in FIG. 14, when an unspecified battery unit discharges, the battery voltage V during no-load discharge changes as indicated by a
If such an unspecified battery unit is used in the
Therefore, the non-standard battery prohibition voltage 907 (operation prohibition voltage) value set in advance by a predetermined amount higher than the
As described above, in the non-standard battery operation mode, the non-standard battery in which the prohibition voltage that is a criterion for stopping the operation of the
