Description
電子画像センサは、デジタルカメラに組み込まれるだけでなく、最近では、携帯電話や携帯情報端末(PDA)のような家庭用電子機器にも組み込まれている。こうした製品は市場の圧力を受けて、そのサイズが縮小され、または、所与のサイズの製品の中に組み込まれる機能の数が増加している。
本発明は、第1の態様において、対象物を表わすカラー画像信号を生成するためのカラーイメージセンサを提供する。カラーイメージセンサは、光学基板、及び、光センサを含む。光学基板は、空間的に間隔を空けて配置された複数の結像素子(結像用光学素子)を有する。各結像素子は、対応する色の光で像を形成するように構成される。光センサは、複数の結像素子のそれぞれに対向して配置されたセンサ素子の領域を有する。各領域のセンサ素子は、そこに入射した対応する色の光に応じてカラー画像信号の成分を生成する働きをする。
図2は、本発明によるカラーイメージセンサの非常に単純化された第1の実施形態100を示す等角図である。カラーイメージセンサ100は、対象物を表わすカラー画像信号を生成し、光センサ112、並びに、101、102及び103によって概略的に示された結像素子から構成される。光センサ112の主表面116上には、センサ素子が配置される。動作時に、光センサは、主表面116に入射する光に応じてカラー画像信号114を生成する。結像素子101、102及び103は、対象物の像を光センサ112の各領域131、132及び133上に異なる色の光で形成するように構成される。像間における光のリークを防止するために、像が形成される光センサの各領域は、実質的に空間的に離れている。
Claims (20)
- 対象物を表わすカラー画像信号を生成するためのカラーイメージセンサであって、
底部の開口した1つのボックスとして構成された結像素子アレイを備え、
前記ボックスは光学基板を備え、該光学基板は、該光学基板の外部主面内に規定された第1の屈折面を備える第1の結像素子と、該光学基板の前記外部主面内に規定された第2の屈折面を備える第2の結像素子と、を含み、前記第1及び第2の屈折面の各々は、異なるそれぞれの色の光を結像するよう構成されており、
前記ボックスは、更に、前記ボックスの複数の側面部と、前記第1及び第2の結像素子間であって前記ボックスの1つの側面部からその反対側の側面部まで延びる、前記第1及び第2の結像素子を分離するためのスクリーンと、を備え、
前記スクリーンは、(1)前記第1の結像素子によって結像される光が第2のセンサ素子領域に入射するのを前記スクリーンによって阻止されるよう、かつ、(2)前記第2の結像素子によって結像される光が第1のセンサ素子領域に入射するのを前記スクリーンによって阻止されるよう、光吸収材を含んでおり、
前記カラーイメージセンサは、更なる基板上に構成された光センサを更に備え、該光センサは、
前記更なる基板上に前記第1及び第2の結像素子とそれぞれ対向して配置された前記第1及び第2のセンサ素子領域と、
前記結像素子アレイを前記光センサに位置合わせし、かつ、前記結像素子アレイを前記更なる基板に取り付けるための、前記更なる基板に取り付けられた1つ以上の取り付けパッドであって、該1つ以上の取り付けパッドは、前記第1及び第2のセンサ素子領域が前記ボックス内に封入されるよう、ハンダを用いて、前記複数の側面部及び前記スクリーンに取り付けられ、かつ位置合わせされる、1つ以上の取り付けパッドと、
を備える、カラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記第1の結像素子は、前記光学基板の内部主面内に規定された第1の補正素子を備え、該第1の補正素子は前記第1の屈折面に軸合わせされており、
前記第2の結像素子は、前記光学基板の内部主面内に規定された第2の補正素子を備え、該第2の補正素子は前記第2の屈折面に軸合わせされている、請求項1に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記第1及び第2の屈折面のうちの少なくとも1つは、対応する色の光を結像するよう構成された凸面を有する、請求項2に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記凸面は非球面状である、請求項3に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記凸面は球面状であり、
前記第1及び第2の補正素子のうちの少なくとも1つは、前記球面状の凸面の反対側に非球面状の面を有し、該非球面状の面は、前記それぞれの色の光に関する収差を補正するよう構成されている、請求項3に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記凸面は球面状であり、
前記第1及び第2の補正素子のうちの少なくとも1つは、前記球面状の凸面の反対側に回折素子を有し、該回折素子は、前記それぞれの色の光に関する収差を補正するよう構成されている、請求項3に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記第1の結像素子と前記光センサとの間に配置された第1のカラーフィルタを更に備え、該第1のカラーフィルタは、前記第1のセンサ素子領域へ第1の色の光を通過させる、請求項2に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第2の結像素子と前記光センサとの間に配置された第2のカラーフィルタを更に備え、該第2のカラーフィルタは、前記第2のセンサ素子領域へ第2の色の光を通過させる、請求項7に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記光センサは、更なるセンサ素子領域を更に有し、
前記カラーイメージセンサは、前記更なるセンサ素子領域に対向して配置された多色光結像素子を更に備えることで、該更なるセンサ素子領域上に前記対象物からの広帯域スペクトル光を結像する、請求項7に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記第1のセンサ素子領域と前記更なるセンサ素子領域とは、センサ素子の(a)面積、及び、(b)数のうちの少なくとも一方が等しい、請求項9に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第1のセンサ素子領域と前記更なるセンサ素子領域とは、センサ素子の(a)面積、及び、(b)数のうちの少なくとも一方が異なる、請求項9に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第1のセンサ素子領域のセンサ素子と、前記更なるセンサ素子領域のセンサ素子とは、面積が異なり、その面積の比が、各領域へ入射するそれぞれの光に対する感度を等しくする比である、請求項9に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記光学基板は、前記多色光結像素子のための取り付け台を規定する、請求項9に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第1及び第2の結像素子を前記光センサからそれぞれ異なる距離に配置するために、前記光学基板は階段状に構成される、請求項2に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記光センサは、前記センサ素子領域を3つ備え、該3つのセンサ素子領域の各々の中心が三角形の頂点に配置される、請求項1に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記第1及び第2のセンサ素子領域は、隣り合った角の部分で近接している、請求項1に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記結像素子アレイは、前記ボックスに少なくとも1つの開口を形成する取り付け部を含み、
前記1つ以上の取り付けパッドは、前記センサ素子領域を、前記結像素子アレイの前記取り付け部を介して、前記結像素子アレイの前記第1及び第2の結像素子とは反対側の位置に固定するように構成される、請求項1に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記結像素子アレイは、前記結像素子アレイの前記第1及び第2の結像素子の光軸のアライメントを、それぞれの前記センサ素子領域に関して固定するための、取り付け部を含み、
前記更なる基板に取り付けられた前記1つ以上の取り付けパッドは、前記それぞれのセンサ素子領域が前記取り付け部及び前記1つ以上の取り付けパッドを介して前記結像素子アレイの前記第1及び第2の結像素子の反対側の位置に位置合わせされるよう、前記取り付け部を前記更なる基板に固定するように構成される、請求項1に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。 - 前記ボックス及び前記光センサは、前記取り付け部及び前記1つ以上の取り付けパッドがその位置合わせ及び加熱の際に前記1つ以上の取り付けパッドへのハンダのリフローによって共に固定されるよう、治具を用いて位置合わせされるように構成される、請求項18に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
- 前記1つ以上の取り付けパッドは、前記取り付け部及び前記1つ以上の取り付けパッドを互いに取り付けるために使用される前記ハンダからなるハンダ層を含む、請求項18に記載のカラーイメージセンサ。
