Description
本発明の他の態様に係るABS樹脂成形品は、0.1重量%以上0.5重量%以下の含有量でカーボンブラックを粒状の充填剤として混入したABS樹脂を射出成形して形成され、厚肉部と薄肉部とが隣り合う段差形状を備えるとともに、ブタジエン粒子を溶出させて前記厚肉部および前記薄肉部の表面にエッチングホールを形成したことを特徴とする。
第1に、まずABS樹脂中に粒状の充填剤としてカーボンブラックを混合して分散させる。そして、カーボンブラックを混合したABS樹脂を射出成形機により金型内に射出し、厚肉部および薄肉部が連続する段差部分を備えたABS樹脂成形品を形成する。
ここで、本実施形態においてABS樹脂にカーボンブラックを混合するのは、上記形状のABS樹脂成形品にメッキ処理を施した場合に薄肉部に発生するメッキムラを軽減させるためである。本発明者は後述の実験結果に基づいて薄肉部のメッキムラ発生の原因推定を行い、以下の知見を得た。
また、ABS樹脂におけるカーボンブラックの含有量は0.1重量%以上0.5重量%以下であることが好ましい。カーボンブラックの含有量が0.1重量%未満の場合には、カーボンブラックが少ないので薄肉部でブタジエン粒子が変形し、メッキ被膜が薄いとメッキムラが目立つこととなる。一方、カーボンブラックの含有量が0.5重量%を上回る場合には、オーバーエッチングとなってメッキ後の表面状態が悪くなるためである。
以下、本発明の実施例を説明する。この実験ではカーボンブラックの平均粒径および含有量が異なる4種類のABS樹脂と、カーボンブラックを含まないABS樹脂とで同一形状の試験片を射出成形機で5種類形成した。ここで、ABS樹脂にはUMGサイコラック3001Mを使用した。また、各試験片の形状は、厚肉部および薄肉部が連続する段差部分を備えた形状に設定した。
以上、本発明を上記の実施形態によって説明してきたが、本発明の技術的範囲は上記実施形態に限定されるものではない。例えば、上記実施形態では、ABS樹脂に粒状の充填剤としてカーボンブラックを混合する例を示したが、ABS樹脂の射出成型時の温度で固体の状態を保ち、かつ射出成型時にブタジエン粒子の変形を抑制しうるものであれば、他の粒状の充填剤を使用することもできる。

- 0.1重量%以上0.5重量%以下の含有量でカーボンブラックを粒状の充填剤として混入したABS樹脂を金型内に射出成形して、厚肉部と薄肉部とが隣り合う段差形状を備えた射出成形品を形成する工程と、
前記射出成形品の表面のブタジエン粒子を溶出させるエッチング工程と、
前記エッチング工程後の前記薄肉部にメッキ被膜を形成する工程と、を有することを特徴とするメッキ被膜を有するABS樹脂成形品の製造方法。 - 前記カーボンブラックの平均粒径は0.5μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のメッキ被膜を有するABS樹脂成形品の製造方法。
