Description
The present invention relates to a gas sensor placed in a high humidity environment.
In general, a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell forms a membrane electrode assembly (MEA: Membrane Electrode Assembly) by sandwiching both sides of a polymer electrolyte membrane between a fuel electrode and an oxygen electrode. A single fuel cell stack is formed by stacking a plurality of single cells each having a joined body sandwiched between a pair of separators. The fuel electrode is supplied with hydrogen as a fuel, the oxygen electrode is supplied with air as an oxidant, and hydrogen ions generated by a catalytic reaction at the fuel electrode pass through the solid polymer electrolyte membrane and pass through the oxygen electrode. The hydrogen ions and oxygen cause an electrochemical reaction to generate electricity.
However, in the above-described technique, in a state where the water vapor contained in the high-humidity gas has not yet become water droplets, the water vapor passes through the water-repellent filter, and thus the water vapor enters the hydrogen detector. When the internal temperature drops after entering, water vapor is liquefied, and this liquefied water (hereinafter referred to as dew condensation water) sometimes accumulates in the gas detection chamber. If the condensed water accumulates in the gas detection chamber in this way, the condensed water may come into contact with the gas detection element and affect the sensing. In addition, the water-repellent filter may be clogged with condensed water, and gas uptake may be hindered.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a gas sensor that can positively discharge internal water.
As a means for solving the problem, the present invention includes a gas detection element for detecting a detection target gas contained in a gas, the gas detection chamber a gas to be detected is captured accommodates a pre SL gas detection element Yes, and a bottomed cylindrical element accommodating portion and a peripheral wall and a bottom wall portion extending in the vertical direction, provided in an opening of the bottom wall portion, and a water-repellent filter which does not transmit the transmitted and liquid gas, A moisture absorbing member that has one end portion disposed in the gas detection chamber and the other end portion disposed outside the element housing portion to absorb water in the gas detection chamber and discharge the water outside the element housing portion ; the gas sensor whose serial gas is provided in the wall of the gas flow path flows, the one end portion of the hygroscopic member is characterized that you are disposed between the water-repellent filter and the peripheral wall gas sensor It is.
According to such a gas sensor, after the water in the gas detection chamber is absorbed by one end, the absorbed water flows (penetrates) in the moisture absorbing member, and the flowed water flows from the other end to the element housing portion. Is discharged outside. In this way, water in the gas detection chamber can be discharged out of the element housing portion, and adhesion of water to the gas detection element can be reduced. As a result, it is possible to prevent a decrease in sensitivity and output instability of the gas detection element.
Further, in the gas sensor, the element accommodating portion includes a cylindrical peripheral wall body that constitutes the peripheral wall portion, and a bottom lid body that is attached so as to cover a lower opening of the peripheral wall body and constitutes the bottom wall portion. It is preferable that the moisture absorbing member is sandwiched between the peripheral wall body and the bottom lid body.
In the gas sensor, it is preferable that the moisture absorbing member is sandwiched between an edge of the opening of the bottom wall portion and the water repellent filter.
In the gas sensor, it is preferable that the other end of the moisture absorbing member is disposed in the gas flow path.
According to such a gas sensor, the gas flowing through the gas channel is blown to the other end portion of the moisture absorbing member through which water flows (penetrates), and the water contained in the other end portion is easily taken away by the gas. . Accordingly, water easily flows from one end portion disposed in the gas detection chamber to the other end portion, and therefore, water in the gas detection chamber can be efficiently discharged.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the gas sensor which can discharge | emit internal water actively can be provided.
Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings as appropriate. In the drawings to be referred to, FIG. 1 is a schematic configuration diagram showing a fuel cell system including a hydrogen sensor according to the present embodiment.
As shown in FIG. 1, a hydrogen sensor 1 (gas sensor) according to this embodiment is incorporated in a fuel cell system S in order to detect hydrogen in off-gas (air off-gas, dilution gas) discharged from the
The fuel cell system S is a system mounted on a fuel cell vehicle, and the fuel cell vehicle is configured to travel by rotating an electric motor (travel motor) for traveling with the generated power of the
The
In this
Then, so-called off-gas containing unreacted reaction gas (for example, hydrogen or air) is discharged from the
Here, the hydrogen off-gas (anode off-gas) containing unreacted hydrogen is discharged from the outlet-
On the other hand, the air off gas (cathode off gas) containing a large amount of moisture in the reacted air is discharged to the atmosphere through the
Further, a
The

<ケース>
<Case>
The case 30 has a rectangular parallelepiped shape and protects a built-in control board (not shown). The case 30 is made of, for example, polyphenylene sulfide, and includes
The lower end surface of the case 30 is provided with a gas detection element 60 and a heater 70 connected to the control board, and an element accommodating portion B for accommodating these is provided so as to protrude downward. Yes.
<Gas detection element>
The gas detection element 60 detects hydrogen (a gas to be detected) contained in an off gas (gas) that is a dilution gas or an air off gas, and specifically includes a pair of a detection element and a temperature compensation element. Has been. The detection element is a well-known element, and is formed by coating a coil of a metal wire containing platinum or the like having a high temperature coefficient with respect to electric resistance with a carrier such as alumina carrying a catalyst. The catalyst is made of a noble metal active against hydrogen. The temperature compensation element is inactive with respect to hydrogen, and is formed, for example, by coating the surface of a coil equivalent to the detection element with a carrier such as alumina.
When the detection element becomes hot due to reaction heat generated when hydrogen comes into contact with the catalyst, a difference occurs in the resistance value between the detection element and the temperature compensation element, so that the hydrogen concentration can be detected from this difference. It has become. Note that the change in the electrical resistance value due to the ambient temperature is offset by using the temperature compensation element.
<ヒータ>

The element accommodating portion B is a case that encloses and accommodates the gas detection element 60 and the heater 70, and includes an outer first element accommodating portion 40 (corresponding to an element accommodating portion in the claims) and an inner side thereof. 2nd element accommodating part 50, and is comprised.

The first element housing portion 40 is a substantially bottomed cylindrical body projecting from the lower surface of the case 30, and fits into a through

The second element accommodating portion 50 is a bottomed cylindrical body having a second

≪Operation and effect of hydrogen sensor≫
Next, the operation and effect of such a
As shown in FIG. 2, the off gas (dilution gas or air off gas) flowing through the off gas flow path 6 a in the
Thus, after taking off gas into the 1st storage chamber 40a from the gas taking-in part 80, for example, in order to stop a fuel cell vehicle, fuel cell system S is turned off, ie, power generation of
The condensed water collected in this manner is absorbed by the one
After that, when the fuel cell system S is activated again, that is, when the
Thus, according to the
