Description

【0001】

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to a method for connecting small crimp terminals, and more specifically, a method capable of smoothly and reliably connecting a small crimp terminal female member having a flat or shaped insertion portion and a small crimp terminal male member having a tongue-like insertion portion. It is about.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A tongue-shaped insertion part is integrated from the base of the main body to a small crimp terminal female member that is integrally formed with a flat and shaped insertion part in the front and a barrel part that crimps and fixes the core wire of the covered electric wire in the rear. A small crimp terminal male member extending in the same manner is coaxially fitted and electrically connected to each other when mounting various electrical devices.
[0003]
These small crimp terminals are often used in harsh environments such as high temperatures, high pressures, and high vibrations, so the connection between the flat and shaped insertion part and the tongue-like insertion part is electrically conductive. It is usual to ensure a strong fit with a strong force so as to ensure a constant and no conduction failure occurs.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In this joining operation, one small crimp terminal (in many cases, a female member) is usually fixed and held while the other member is moved and joined. In order to make it fit, it is necessary to fix and hold firmly. In general, it seems to be sufficient to hold and hold the barrel part etc., but because the member itself is small, the processed part and the welded part are very close, and the terminal member itself such as the barrel part is directly fixed and held. It was impossible to do.
[0005]
In addition, if the barrel part is strongly clamped for any purpose, the part may be deformed and become a defective product. Careful attention should be paid to clamping the barrel part. Should have been avoided.
[0006]
For this reason, there is no terminal member itself, and attempts have been made to retain the covered portion of the covered electric wire connected thereto, but as described above, assuming use in harsh environments such as high temperatures and high pressures. Therefore, the coating is generally hard and slips even if it is strongly clamped, and fixing and holding using this portion is extremely difficult. In addition, if it is strongly clamped, a mark remains on the coating, and there is a serious problem that post-processing on the coated electric wire such as waterproofing with a rubber seal cannot be performed.
[0007]
In addition, since a strong gripping force is required to fix and hold the terminal member, the burden on the operator is large, and auxiliary equipment such as an opening / closing device is also required.
[0008]
On the other hand, it was considered that the position of the terminal member was fixed using a slight core wire exposed portion formed between the rear edge of the barrel portion and the coated tip of the covered electric wire, but the core wire is the most delicate in the crimp terminal. Since it is a member and the most important member, and there is a fear of damage due to the damage, it is almost taboo to use this part for fixing and holding a small crimp terminal member.
[0009]
As a result of earnest research that should solve the above-mentioned problems related to the connection work between the female member and the male member of the small crimp terminal, the present inventor has devised a method for fixing and holding the member, so that the connection work can be performed more reliably and accurately The present inventors have succeeded in developing a new method for connecting a small crimp terminal that can be applied to an automated apparatus, and propose the present invention as the present invention.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A flat and shaped insertion part is integrally formed at the front, and a barrel part for crimping and fixing the core wire of the coated electric wire is integrally formed at the rear. Bell barrel processing is applied to the front and rear edges of the barrel part. The small crimp terminal female member is inserted into the inserted portion of the small crimp terminal female member that is inserted into the insertion portion of the small crimp terminal male member in which the tongue-like insertion portion is integrally extended from the main body base. When a small crimping terminal male member is coupled, a slight core wire exposed portion is formed between the end surface of the covered wire and the barrel edge of the small crimp female member, and is placed behind the core wire exposed portion. While positioning the plate, the tip of the thin claws made of elastic thin plate from the upper rear is brought into contact with the upper part of the rear edge of the barrel, thereby preventing the female member from sliding backward and on the same axis. The member that inserts the insertion part of the male member positioned at Is moved to the inserted part way, it is to St. solve the above problems by the way allowed to fit thereto.
[0011]
Embodiment
FIG. 1 is a plan view of a small crimp terminal connected by the small crimp terminal connection method according to the present invention, FIG. 2 is a side view thereof, and FIG. 3 is an enlarged perspective view of an essential part thereof.
[0012]
In the figure, 1 is a female member of a small crimp terminal, 2 is a male member, and both the female member 1 and the male member 2 are formed by pressing a metal plate having excellent conductivity. A cylindrical barrel part 4 is arranged in series behind a flat hollow or inserted part 3 with a guide part 5 opened upward and cut out in a U shape when viewed from the side. In the barrel portion 4, the core wire 7 at the tip of the covered electric wire 6 is inserted from the rear edge 25 side (right side in FIG. 1), and is fixed by caulking.
[0013]
A round mouth bell mouth 23 is formed on each of the rear edge 25 and the front edge 24 of the barrel portion 4. When the core wire 7 is crimped, the corners of the front edge 24 and the rear edge 25 of the barrel portion 4 are formed. This prevents the portion from directly contacting the surface of the core wire 7 and disconnecting. Further, a core wire exposed portion 9 of about 0.5 mm to 1 mm is formed between the rear edge 25 of the barrel portion 4 and the front end surface of the covering 8 of the covered electric wire 6.
[0014]
On the other hand, the male member 2 is formed by integrally extending a tongue-like insertion portion 10 from the main body base portion 11, and the tongue-like insertion portion 10 is firmly and firmly attached to the insertion portion 3 of the female member 2. It is formed in a dimension that can be securely inserted.
[0015]
In this embodiment, the main body base 11 is folded in a substantially U shape. This is because the main body base 11 has a function as an electrode plate having a spring property. Of course, 11 may take various forms according to various uses. The female member 1 and the male member 2 of these small crimp terminals are conventionally used and are known per se.
[0016]
Next, description will be given of a method of connecting the small crimp terminal female member 1 and the male member 2 according to the present invention. As shown in FIGS. 4, 5, and 6, the back side of the member 1 for fixing the covered electric wire 6 by caulking. The abutting plate 22 is brought into contact with the male member 2, and the male member 2 is coaxially disposed on the front side thereof so that the inserting portion 10 faces the member 1 side. 4, 5, and 6, the female member 1 is depicted as being placed on the backing plate 22, but the joining operation is performed with the female member 1 and the backing plate 33 standing. Of course you can go.
[0017]
In this state, as shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, the thin claws 15 made of a thin plate having spring properties are disposed from the upper rear side of the barrel portion 4 of the female member 1, and the front end surface thereof is the rear edge 25 of the barrel portion 4. It is made to contact | abut on upper part, and the movement of the front-back direction of this clamping nail | claw 15 is stopped with this state. As shown in FIG. 7, the front end face 27 of the clamping claw 15 has a substantially Σ shape with a center 28 cut out in an arc shape. Care is taken not to cut.
[0018]
FIG. 8 is a partially enlarged view illustrating a state in which the sandwiching claws 15 are in contact with the rear edge 25 of the barrel portion 4, and the side surfaces of the sandwiching claws 15 are formed at the corners of the coated front end face 26 of the coated wire 6. Since the front end surface 27 of the clamping claw 15 is in contact with the rear edge 25 of the barrel portion 4 with this portion as a fulcrum, the clamping claw 15 hardly comes into direct contact with the core wire 7.
[0019]
The contact of the clamping claw 15 with the rear edge 25 of the barrel portion 4 is performed using a slight gap and a slight step, and precision is required for the work. Since it is made of an elastic thin plate, as shown in FIG. 5, the holding claw 15 is bent into an arcuate shape and the front end surface 27 is brought into contact with the upper surface of the covered electric wire 6 along the rear edge 25 side of the barrel portion 4 along this. If it slides, it will contact | abut to the upper part of the rear edge 25 of the barrel part 4 naturally, and the difficulty will not accompany it in the operation | work.
[0020]
In such a state, if the male member 2 is slid in the direction of the female member 1 and the tongue-like insertion portion 10 is fitted into the insertion portion 3 having a flat shape or a shape, as shown in FIG. 9 and FIG. The connection between the male member 2 and the female member 1 is completed.
[0021]
In addition, although strong pressing force is required for fitting the female member into the inserted portion 3 of the female member 2 in the insertion portion 10, the female member 1 is securely held in position by the clamping claws 15. There will be no retreat without being able to resist, and there will be no poor coupling.
[0022]
In this embodiment, the fixing of the barrel portion 4 by the clamping claws 15 and the sliding of the male member 2 in the direction of the female member 1 are performed separately manually, but they are interlocked using an electric mechanism, a hydraulic mechanism, or the like. Of course, it may be done.
[0023]
【effect】
The connection method of the crimp terminal according to the present invention has the configuration as described above, and the clamping claw 15 uses the slight core wire exposed portion 9 formed between the crimp terminal female member and the tip of the covered electric wire 6. Since clamping is performed, the clamping is more reliable than when the barrel 4 or the covering 8 of the covered electric wire 6 is sandwiched, and there is no risk of damaging the core wire or deforming the barrel 4 or the covering 8. The coupling work can be carried out with a clamping force, and the burden on the operator is small. The work can be contributed to improving the efficiency of the coupling work, and is extremely practical.
