Description
【0001】
すなわち、四角形状のセルE1が多数形成されて、セルE1以外の土手部分E2(ここでは、最終的に腐食されずに残る部分を「土手」と表現する。)

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus and a printing cylinder creation method for creating a printed matter having a smooth outline.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, gravure printing has been known as one of printing methods. Gravure printing is a technique for forming a printed matter by forming a recess for placing printing ink on the surface of a printing cylinder and placing the printing ink on the recess and transferring it to a sheet. In addition, there are several printing plate methods for forming recesses on the surface of the printing cylinder. The engraving printing plate method that directly cuts the cylinder surface, the necessary part is cured by laser, etc. The laser plate system that corrodes the part is well-known.
[0003]
Among these, in the laser plate system, an original image is input to the laser plate machine, and it is determined whether to perform laser exposure on the printing cylinder according to the pixel value in each area of the original image. Further, for the area to be laser-exposed, it is determined how much the exposure is to be performed based on the pixel value of the original image. For example, assume that exposure is performed at a rate of 50%. At this time, the laser printing plate is not uniformly exposed so that the inside of the region is exposed to 50% due to the characteristics, but the inside of the cell of a predetermined size is exposed 100%, and the outside of the cell is not exposed. In this way, exposure is performed so that the portion exposed in the entire region becomes 50%.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
When printing is performed on the basis of a binary original image, normally, a portion where ink is not placed is formed as data having a density of 0%, and a portion where ink is placed is formed as data having a density of 100%. However, when a portion on which ink is placed at a density of 100% is formed, there is a problem in that ink filled in this portion is scraped out by a doctor during printing. For this reason, an area on which ink is placed is formed using data having a density of less than 100%, for example, about 98%. As described above, when data less than 100% is used, a cell is formed. By forming a cell, a so-called bank-like portion is formed between the cells. Thus, a large amount of ink is not scraped by the doctor. However, for example, when the laser beam is 10 × 10 μm, the cell is often set to a large size of 100 × 100 μm corresponding to 10 × 10 laser beams. For this reason, the contour portion of the exposed region becomes a saw-toothed shape due to the influence of the cell shape, and another problem arises that so-called jaggy is conspicuous.
[0005]
Accordingly, in view of the above points, the present invention provides an image processing apparatus that processes an original image so as to smooth an outline portion of an exposure region, and a method of creating a print cylinder based on the processed image. This is the issue.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problem, in the invention according to claim 1, an original image expressed by a binary value of a first value (for example, black) and a second value (for example, white) is input, and the input The contour of the region having the first value in the original image is extracted, and the inside of the contour is set to a third value (for example, gray) that is between the first value and the second value that the original image can take. A gradation image is obtained by setting , and when the gradation image is displayed, a display image in which the third value is replaced with the display value is displayed . According to the first aspect of the present invention, contour processing is performed on a binary binary image for printing, and a gradation image having three values is created by setting the inside to an intermediate value. Therefore, by creating a printing cylinder using this image, it is possible to prevent a large amount of ink from being scraped out during printing, and it is possible to create a printed matter with a smooth outline. Further, in the display image, a predetermined density difference can be provided in the third value pixel with respect to the first value pixel and the second value pixel, and the third value pixel portion is correctly created. It is possible for the operator to easily check on the screen of the
[0007]
In the invention according to
[0008]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, an original image expressed by a binary value of a first value and a second value is input, and an outline of a region having the first value in the input original image is extracted. A gradation image is created by setting the interior to a third value that is between the first value and the second value. When the gradation image is displayed, the third value is displayed. A display image replaced with a value is displayed, and a region having a third value in the generated gradation image is designated as a cell having a predetermined value having a first value and a second value other than the cell. The exposure portion is formed by dividing the bank portion so that the ratio thereof corresponds to the third value as a whole inside the region, and the portion having the second value is laser-exposed to form a printing cylinder. It is characterized in that it was created. According to the invention described in claim 3, a gradation image having three values is created from a binary image, and an area having an intermediate value in the gradation image is divided into a cell portion and a bank portion, Since the printing cylinder is created by exposing the bank portion and the outside of the region, the created printing cylinder is formed with a recess for placing ink on the portion corresponding to the contour and the cell. For this reason, at the time of printing, a large amount of printing ink is not scraped off from the printing cylinder, and a smooth contour is expressed in the printed matter to be created. Further, in the display image, a predetermined density difference can be provided in the third value pixel with respect to the first value pixel and the second value pixel, and the third value pixel portion is correctly created. It is possible for the operator to easily check on the screen of the

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a configuration in an embodiment of an image processing apparatus according to the present invention. In FIG. 1, 1 is an image input unit, 2 is an arithmetic processing unit, 3 is an image output unit, and 4 is an image display unit. The image processing apparatus shown in FIG. 1 is realized by a computer equipped with dedicated software and its peripheral devices. The image input unit 1 is for inputting a binary original image, and is realized by an electronic recording medium reading device such as FD or MO. The
[0010]
Next, the processing operation of the image processing apparatus shown in FIG. 1 will be described. 2A and 2B are diagrams showing the state of image processing by the
[0011]
How each pixel is processed depends on the state of the pixel. Specifically, when the pixel value corresponds to white, the processed pixel value is also white. When the pixel value corresponds to black, it depends on the state of the neighboring eight neighboring pixels, and if there is at least one pixel value corresponding to white in the eight neighborhoods, the processed pixel value remains black, If all the pixel values in the vicinity of 8 correspond to black, the processed pixel value is a color (for example, gray) located between white and black. For example, since the pixel A corresponds to white in the original image shown in FIG. 2A, it is also white in the gradation image shown in FIG. Further, the pixel B corresponds to black in the original image, and white pixels exist in the vicinity of 8, so the pixel B is also black in the gradation image. The pixel C corresponds to black in the original image, and all the pixel values in the vicinity of 8 are black, and thus gray in the gradation image.
[0012]
Here, FIG. 3 shows the state of the original image and the entire gradation image obtained by processing the original image. 3A is an original image, and FIG. 3B is a gradation image. As can be seen by comparing the two, the original image is a binary image in which a certain area is blacked out and the outside is white, but the gradation image has a black outline of the area, but the inside is an intermediate color. It is expressed by three values that the outside of the region is white.
[0013]
As a work flow, an operator inputs an original image from the image input unit 1 and displays it on the
[0014]
The gradation image obtained in this way is output from the image output unit 3 and transferred to a laser printing machine (not shown). At this time, the intermediate color portion of the gradation image passed to the laser press is practically converted to 98%. The numerical value of 98% is easier to confirm when the image is confirmed on the
[0015]
Subsequently, using the image data in which the intermediate color is converted to 98%, the laser printing press exposes the printing cylinder with a laser beam. As a characteristic of the laser printing machine, exposure is performed in units of laser beams for the 0% region, and cells of a predetermined size are formed for regions greater than 0% and less than 100%. Perform exposure. Further, no exposure is performed on the 100% region. Consider a case where a horizontally long elliptical region as shown in FIG. 4 is formed in a printing cylinder. In FIG. 4A, D is a contour with a density of 100%, E inside thereof is an intermediate color region, and the outside of the contour is a region with a density of 0%. The intermediate color region B is actually formed as shown in FIG. That is, a large number of rectangular cells E1 are formed, and are divided from bank portions E2 other than the cells E1 (herein, portions that are finally left uncorroded are expressed as “banks”). The inside of the cell E1 is 100%, the bank portion E2 outside the cell E1 is 0%, and it is set to be 98% in the entire intermediate color region E. Furthermore, the state which expanded F part shown by the rectangle in FIG.4 (b) is shown in FIG.
[0016]
In FIG. 5, the same components as those in FIG. 4 are denoted by the same reference numerals. In FIG. 5A, the smallest quadrangle forming the lattice shape indicates the exposure unit of the laser beam. Further, here, the exposed portion is shown in white, and the unexposed portion is shown in black. The contour D has a thickness of a laser beam unit, and is formed when this portion is not exposed. In the example of FIG. 5, the cell E1 has a size corresponding to 41 laser beams, and is formed by not exposing this portion. The bank portion E2 and the outside G of the contour are all exposed. In FIG. 5A, the exposure unit of the laser beam is shown in a lattice shape for convenience of explanation. Actually, as shown in FIG. , G are all exposed, leaving no grid-like traces. Thereafter, the exposed printing cylinder proceeds to a corrosion process, where the exposed and cured portions remain, and the unexposed portions corrode. In the example of FIG. 5B, the areas E2 and G shown in white remain, and the areas D and E1 shown in black are recessed due to corrosion.
[0017]
In the example of FIG. 5, one cell has a size corresponding to 41 laser beams for the sake of drawing restrictions and for convenience of explanation, but in actuality, it has been described in the section of the problem to be solved by the invention. Thus, the size of one cell is about 100 laser beams. Therefore, one side of the cell is about 10 times the width of the contour, and the smoothness is increased by the contour processing.
[0018]
Printing is performed by placing printing ink on the printing cylinder thus obtained. At this time, the printing ink is placed only on the recessed portions as shown in the regions D and E1.
[0019]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the original image expressed by the binary value of the first value and the second value is input, and the contour of the region having the first value in the input original image is input. A gradation image is created by performing extraction and setting the inside to a third value that is between the first value and the second value. Among the created gradation images, a third value is created. A region having a value is divided into a cell having a predetermined value having a first value and a bank portion having a second value other than the cell so that the ratio corresponds to the third value as a whole inside the region. Since the exposure data is formed and the print cylinder is created by laser exposure of the portion having the second value, the created print cylinder has a portion corresponding to the contour and the cell. A recess for placing ink is formed. Large quantities without being scraped out printing inks from, and in the printed matter to be created, will be smooth contour is represented, also in the display image, the pixels of the first value, the second value It is possible to provide a predetermined density difference in the third value pixel with respect to the third pixel, and the operator can easily check on the screen of the
