Description
The present invention relates to a bonding member and a container, and more particularly to a bonding member using a base material having a titanium layer and a container using the same.
Titanium has the same high strength as iron-based materials. Moreover, since it is low specific gravity, it is light like aluminum and magnesium, and also has a corrosion resistance higher than stainless steel in terms of corrosion resistance. It begins with use in fields such as aerospace, chemistry, and electric power because of its excellent characteristics such as “light”, “strong”, and “not rust”. ) Is rapidly expanding the field of demand. However, only the thermal conductivity is comparable to stainless steel, and the thermal conductivity is as low as 1/10 of aluminum and 1/4 of iron. On the other hand, this characteristic also has a feature of excellent heat retention. In order to supplement the thermal conductivity, it is conceivable to make a composite material by cladding with aluminum or the like, but since the melting point difference is large and a strong passive film is formed on the surface of titanium, Compounding is difficult. Therefore, only composite materials such as wires and pipes are obtained.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and an object thereof is to provide a joining member having a titanium layer.
As a technique for obtaining a bonding member having a titanium layer, we have developed a technique using a copper plating excellent in diffusion bonding as a bonding layer. The titanium passive layer is removed by treating the surface of the titanium layer with a mixed aqueous solution of an organic acid such as EDTA and a fluoride salt such as ammonium fluoride. Thereafter, an electrolytic copper plating whose crystal grain size is controlled to 0.5 μm or less is formed with good adhesion through an electric nickel plating. For example, when obtaining a composite material of an aluminum plate and a titanium plate, titanium / electric nickel plating / electro copper plating and aluminum / zincate treatment film / nickel (copper plating bath is a copper pyrophosphate bath or a copper cyanide bath). In some cases, the composite material is obtained by bonding with hot pressing at a temperature of 150 ° C. or more in a state where the copper platings are opposed to each other.
The joining member according to the present invention made based on the above knowledge is made of a base material having a titanium layer as a metal outermost layer and a copper formed on one surface of the base material via a nickel layer. A joining member having a joining layer, wherein an average crystal grain size of copper contained in the joining layer is 0.5 μm or less. As another form of this invention, it has a stainless steel layer between a titanium layer and a nickel layer.
The bonding layer is formed by electroplating, and it is preferable that the particle size of copper in the bonding layer is controlled by adding at least one of mercaptopropanesulfonic acid, polyol and dye to the electrolytic bath during the electroplating. . More preferably, the average crystal grain size of copper contained in the bonding layer is 0.2 μm or less.
In the base material, it is preferable that at least one layer selected from a passive film of titanium, a colored alumite layer, and fluorine carbide is further formed on the surface on the side opposite to the bonding layer. It becomes a form.
The nickel layer is preferably formed on the surface of the titanium layer or stainless steel layer after the surface is treated with an organic acid.
The stainless steel layer is preferably a magnetic stainless steel layer in direct contact with the titanium layer.
It is preferable that the concentration of sulfur contained in the copper bonding layer is 100 ppm or less in terms of mass ratio and the surface hardness is 400 Hv or less because bonding becomes easy.
In the embodiment of the container according to the present invention, any one of the above-described joining members and the counterpart material to be joined to the joining layer are joined with the copper layers facing each other, and a predetermined space is surrounded by processing.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In the following embodiments, the same or corresponding parts are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description thereof will not be repeated.
First, the physical properties of titanium constituting the substrate of the present invention will be described below.
The specific gravity of titanium is 4.51 or more, about half of the specific gravity of iron and stainless steel, and about 1.5 times the specific gravity of aluminum.
The mechanical strength is 500 N / mm 2 for pure titanium. In the case of titanium alloy, it is about 800 N / mm 2 .
The melting point is 1668 ° C. The melting point of iron is 1535 ° C., and the melting point of aluminum is 660 ° C.
Titanium has the same thermal conductivity as stainless steel. This corresponds to 1/10 of aluminum and 1/4 of iron.
The coefficient of thermal expansion is about 1/2 that of stainless steel.
Titanium is elastic. Specifically, the Young's modulus of titanium is twice that of iron and is almost equal to the Young's modulus of copper. Titanium is superior to stainless steel in both corrosion resistance and weather resistance. It is not corroded in the air and seawater.

As shown in FIG. 3, the two

(Copper layer with excellent diffusion bonding)
The diffusion bonding referred to in this specification is called solid phase diffusion bonding, and refers to a technique in which a base material is bonded in a solid state without melting. In order to perform bonding in a solid state, plastic deformation or creep deformation is caused in the vicinity of the bonding interface to bring both surfaces into close contact with each other, and the movement of atoms by diffusion is used. Deformation and diffusion depend on the strength and diffusion coefficient of the base material, and change greatly with temperature and pressure. When heated, the metal softens and becomes easily deformed, and at the same time, atomic diffusion becomes active. That is, the factor governing diffusion bonding is the diffusion rate, which is a technique for forming a metal layer having an interface with a high mutual diffusion rate. Generally, the temperature is a dominant factor in the diffusion rate, and a temperature of about 800 ° C. is used for diffusion bonding between copper. The diffusion rate of copper into copper is shown in FIG.
In the present application, since fluororesin and aluminum are used, it is difficult to apply diffusion bonding in a temperature range exceeding the melting point of aluminum (660 ° C.) and the decomposition temperature of fluororesin (340 ° C.) as described above.
More specifically, the diffusion phenomenon includes (1) body diffusion that diffuses in the base material crystal grains, (2) grain boundary diffusion that moves through the grain boundary interposed between the crystal grains, and (3) the bonding interface. There are three types of surface diffusion that move on the surface of the base material, and it is known that the diffusion coefficient increases by 10,000 to 100,000 times in the grain boundary diffusion of (2) compared to (1). In general, in a metal material, the area occupied by a grain boundary is very small, but the amount of mass transfer through the area is very large. Therefore, the present application has found that diffusion bonding can occur even at a temperature lower than the decomposition temperature of the fluororesin by using microcrystalline copper obtained by electrodeposition reaction from an aqueous solution as the diffusion bonding matrix. Specifically, by controlling the current density of copper plating and the brightener (polypropylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, mercaptopropane sulfonic acid, or dye), the electrodeposited crystal grains of copper are electrodeposited to 200 nm or less, It was found that the film was almost completely integrated even at a temperature of 300 ° C. × 100 kg / cm 2 × 30 minutes. As a combination of brighteners, a mixture of polypropylene glycol, polyethylene glycol and mercaptopropane sulfonic acid, or a mixture of polypropylene glycol, polyethylene glycol and dye may be used.
FIG. 6 is a graph showing the relationship between the metal crystal grain size and the bonding strength. As is apparent from FIG. 6, it can be seen that the bonding strength increases when the metal crystal grain size is reduced. This phenomenon is a result of aiming at the fact that by reducing the crystal grain size, a large number of crystal grain boundaries having a high diffusion rate exist at the interface, and the diffusion rate can be greatly improved. In addition, as a feature of the electrodeposits, the hardness tends to increase due to the eutectoid of light elements, but if the hardness is too high, plastic deformation or creep deformation hardly occurs in the vicinity of the joint interface, and both surfaces adhere to each other. It becomes difficult. Therefore, the amount of sulfur eutectoid from the brightener in copper is preferably 100 ppm or less, and the hardness of copper is preferably 400 Hv or less.
(Copper coating method with excellent diffusion bonding)
The outer surface of the nickel layer is coated with copper.
The copper coating used for the joining member according to the present invention is applied to a titanium layer or a stainless steel layer, which is a metal substrate, but is coated via a nickel layer instead of the substrate directly.
(1) Coating on stainless steel (SUS430) (treatment of Ti clad steel plate)
A SUS430 base material [material: Fe-18% Cr, thickness: 0.5 mm] was subjected to anodic electrolytic degreasing in an aqueous NaOH solution to dissolve organic impurities present on the surface and a passive chromium oxide layer. Thereafter, it was washed with hydrochloric acid, washed with water, and a nickel plating film (nickel layer) having a thickness of 0.2 μm was formed in a nickel strike plating bath (second plating solution).
After washing with water and dilute hydrochloric acid, 8 μm of copper plating was applied with the first plating solution. The crystal grain size control of the copper plating was performed as follows.
The crystal grain size of the copper plating is closely related to the amount of the brightener added. The predetermined amount of the brightener, that is, the polyol component in the brightener is 10 to 20 cm 3 / dm 3 and the sulfur-containing component is 10% of the polyol. The current density was adjusted with the addition of a fraction, and the crystal grain size was adjusted to near 100 nm by cross-sectional observation. In our investigation, if the crystal grain size is about 200 nm to 10 nm, diffusion bonding is possible at a temperature of 300 ° C. or less, and preferably the grain size is about 100 nm ± 50 nm. If the crystal grain size is too large, the crystal grain boundary having a high diffusion rate is deficient, so that the diffusion bonding property is poor. In addition, when the crystal grain size is small, the grain boundary functions as a site for wrapping impurities, resulting in a hard and brittle copper layer. In this case as well, the diffusion bonding property is poor. As post-treatment, since the copper surface is easily oxidized, an aqueous solution containing benzotriazole as a main component is applied or immersed as an anti-oxidation treatment, and dried with warm air.
(2) Coating on Titanium Layer A titanium layer [material: purity 99.9% Ti, thickness: 0.05 mm] was subjected to anodic electrolytic degreasing in an aqueous NaOH solution to dissolve organic impurities present on the surface. Thereafter, 70 g / dm 3 of EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) and hydrogen peroxide (35%) were impregnated in a solution of 60 cm 3 / dm 3 at room temperature to remove the passive film on the surface. Further, after washing with hydrochloric acid, washing with water, nickel plating with a thickness of 0.2 μm was applied in a nickel strike plating bath (second plating solution). After washing with water and dilute hydrochloric acid, 8 μm of copper plating was applied with the first plating solution. The control of the crystal grain size of the copper plating is the same as that of the copper plating on the stainless steel layer. As a post-treatment, the copper surface easily oxidizes, and as an anti-oxidation treatment, an aqueous solution containing benzotriazole as a main component was applied or impregnated and dried with warm air. FIG. 7 is a diagram showing a pretreatment process for forming a nickel layer. Referring to FIG. 7, after the organic acid treatment is performed on the base material as a pretreatment, a nickel layer is formed by nickel plating.
Separately, a bonding member and a double-sided bonding member based on aluminum and stainless steel were prepared.
(Diffusion bonding)
The copper layers of the base materials to be diffusion bonded are opposed to each other, placed in a vacuum chamber, and the atmosphere is exhausted. In a vacuum state, a pressure of about 9.8 × 10 2 N / cm 2 is applied, and the temperature is raised to 280 ° C. to perform diffusion bonding. After maintaining this state for 30 minutes, it is cooled to room temperature and returned to atmospheric pressure. At this time, although it is related to the holding time at a high temperature, there is no particular problem in holding at a temperature of 300 ° C. for 20 minutes. Voids are generated at the interface of the copper plating base, and the bonding force of the composite material is greatly reduced. Desirable diffusion bonding conditions are 30 minutes at a temperature of 280 ° C., but it is not preferable that the temperature exceeds 300 ° C., and it is not preferable that the time exceeds 30 minutes.
(Titanium surface treatment)
(1) Super-hydrophilic treatment: Since this treatment involves high temperatures, it is carried out on a single substrate before diffusion bonding. The surface of a titanium plate or a titanium clad steel plate is cleaned by an argon ion collision method in a high vacuum of 10 −7 mmHg (1.3 × 10 −5 Pa). Thereafter, oxygen gas is controlled and introduced so that the partial pressure is about 1 × 10 −4 mmHg (1.3 × 10 −2 Pa). Warming the substrate increases the growth rate somewhat. By this treatment, a superhydrophilic film made of titanium oxide and having a contact angle with water close to zero degree is obtained on the titanium surface. Titanium oxide itself has sufficient durability, but in order to further strengthen and strengthen the durability, silicon vapor generated by silicon chloride or methyl orthosilicate was introduced during vacuum treatment, and titanium oxide + silicon oxide A composite membrane can also be used.
(2) Colored anodizing treatment: An aqueous solution of phosphoric acid or ammonium oxalate is kept at a temperature of 15 ° C. or lower, and two titanium plates are immersed. An AC voltage is applied between the two titanium plates to form an anodized layer on the surface. When the anodic oxidation voltage exceeds 100 V, a very rough grayish brown film is generated due to dielectric breakdown of the anodic oxide film. When an alternating voltage of about 20 V is applied, a thin and dense oxide film is formed, and colors are generated in seven colors due to the light interference effect corresponding to the film thickness.
(3) Fluorinated graphite coating: SiC is deposited on the titanium surface as an intermediate layer by a plasma CVD (chemical vapor deposition) apparatus to a thickness of about 0.1 μm. Thereafter, CF 4 gas is introduced to form a graphite fluoride film.
