Description
The present invention relates to a backlight device including a plurality of fluorescent tubes driven by an inverter circuit, a liquid crystal display device using the backlight device, and a method for assembling the backlight device.
Conventionally, as a light source for a non-self-luminous panel such as a liquid crystal panel, a backlight device including a fluorescent tube and an inverter circuit for driving the fluorescent tube has been widely used. FIG. 9 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a configuration of a backlight device according to the prior art, in which 100 is the backlight device.

Further, Patent Document 1 discloses a liquid crystal display device that is intended to make the frame region narrower, to have excellent luminance uniformity in the display region of the liquid crystal panel, and to facilitate assembly work. FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view showing the structure of a liquid crystal display device according to the prior art, in which 110 is a liquid crystal display device described in Patent Document 1. In FIG. The liquid
However, in the conventional backlight device as illustrated in FIG. 9, it is necessary to attach a connector having a lead wire on the fluorescent tube side and insert the connector into a corresponding connector on the inverter board side. Therefore, in addition to the trouble of attaching the harness with a connector to the fluorescent tube electrode, a connector corresponding to the inverter side is also required. Furthermore, since it has a two-piece structure, it takes time to insert the fluorescent tube side connector into the inverter circuit board side connector, which is a serious burden on the structure and cost of the backlight.
Further, as illustrated in FIG. 10, when the lead wire and the substrate are subjected to a mounting process involving direct soldering on the production process (assembly process) of the backlight device, the soldering process is manually performed for each fluorescent tube. If the number of fluorescent tubes increases with the increase in the size of the backlight, the work becomes extremely difficult. On the other hand, if reflow processing is performed in order to perform rapid soldering processing, it may cause contamination of foreign materials such as dust to the backlight device, and in this case as well, contamination with dust increases as the number of fluorescent tubes increases. The size of the clean room to be removed becomes large, which may be a factor that promotes the probability of contamination. Further, when such a mounting process involving direct soldering is performed, not only is it difficult to attach, but when it is necessary to remove the fluorescent tube for repair, it is necessary to melt and remove the solder, which is troublesome.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and in the backlight device, the fluorescent tube, the inverter circuit board, and the like can be used without the direct soldering operation to the backlight device in the assembly process. According to the present invention, in the backlight device, it is possible to quickly and easily attach the fluorescent tube to the substrate such as the inverter circuit substrate without involving the direct soldering operation to the backlight device in the assembly process. You can do it.
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing a configuration example of a liquid crystal display device using a backlight device according to the present invention. In the figure, the liquid crystal display device includes a backlight device 1 and a liquid crystal panel 2 as main components. The backlight device 1 irradiates light from the opposite side of the display surface of the liquid crystal panel 2. For example, a fluorescent tube such as a cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) is used as the light source of the backlight device 1. Further, the liquid crystal panel 2 feeds the video signal subjected to the video signal processing as a predetermined gradation voltage for each pixel in accordance with the clock signal of the liquid crystal panel 2, and performs video display processing by sequential scanning on the screen, thereby displaying the video. Display the video according to the signal.
The backlight device 1 includes a plurality of
As the inverter circuit, for example, a separately excited inverter can be applied. In general, the separately excited inverter is provided with an oscillation circuit on the primary side and converts it into alternating current having the same frequency as the drive frequency of the oscillation circuit. This separately excited inverter is used for driving the winding type inverter transformer as described above. As a result, it is possible to realize a small-sized and highly efficient inverter that exceeds the piezoelectric inverter, although it is a winding type.
The liquid crystal panel 2 is composed of two glass substrates with polarizing plates having a crossed Nicols relationship with a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween, and the liquid crystal panel 2 is fixedly held by two
The
Furthermore, various optical members may be provided according to the optical performance required for the liquid crystal display device. For example, as shown in FIG. 1, with respect to a light source constituted by a plurality of
The
Hereinafter, various embodiments including the main features of the present invention will be described. The present invention does not involve a direct soldering operation to the backlight device (another circuit board such as the
In the following description, the connection between the
FIG. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view illustrating a configuration example of a backlight device according to an embodiment of the present invention. 2 and FIGS. 5 to 8 to be described later show cross sections in a direction perpendicular to the cross section illustrated in FIG.
The backlight device 1 illustrated in FIG. 2 includes an
As the “other substrate”, in addition to the GND substrate, for example, a substrate on which two connection terminals that are electrically connected to each other in order to form a connection portion between the fluorescent tubes in the pseudo U-shaped tube can be applied. In this case, one fluorescent tube and its substrate are connected by a connector similar to the
The
As shown in FIG. 2, the
In this way, by using the
Here, the effect by having employ | adopted what performed the bending process as the
3 is an external view showing a configuration example of the connector and its connection object in the backlight device of FIG. 2, FIG. 4 is an overview drawing showing only the connector extracted from FIG. 3, and FIG. 5 is FIG. 3 and FIG. It is principal part sectional drawing which shows the structural example of the backlight apparatus of the state which connected the fluorescent tube and the inverter circuit board using this connector.
3A is a top perspective view of the
The
The electrode lead-in

The

By providing the
The backlight device 1 preferably includes the first receiving
In order to assemble the backlight device 1 having the above-described configuration, first, the
The
On the other hand, the
Then, by connecting the
By adopting the configuration as described above, not only the configuration of the backlight device 1 is simplified, but also a lead wire with a connector (harness and connector for the fluorescent tube 10) that is conventionally required on the fluorescent tube side is necessary. Thus, the
FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of an essential part showing a configuration example of the backlight device in a state where the fluorescent tube and the inverter circuit board are connected using a connector different from the connector of FIGS. 3 and 4.
As illustrated in FIG. 6, the
When connecting the
FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view of an essential part showing a configuration example of the backlight device in a state in which the fluorescent tube and the inverter circuit board are connected using a connector different from the connector of FIGS. 3 and 4.
Although the
FIG. 8 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a configuration example of a backlight device according to another embodiment of the present invention, in which 8 is the backlight device. 1 to 7, the
The
Moreover, in each structural example mentioned above with reference to FIG. 1 thru | or FIG. 8, the outline of the outer frame of the
Further, the backlight device according to the present invention has been described on the assumption of a direct type, but the backlight device according to the present invention is also applicable to an edge light type. Although not shown, this edge light type backlight device has one or several fluorescent tubes as described above. Light emitted from the fluorescent tubes is incident from an end face, and the object to be illuminated is irradiated with the emitted light. And a light guide plate for illuminating from behind.
