Due to the problem, efforts are being made to produce pulp using non-wood plant fibers and the like.
The present invention relates to a method for producing pulp, and more particularly to a method for producing dissolved pulp (ie, fiber pulp) that can be used later to produce fibers.

On the other hand, because of the lack of wood resources, it has been a big problem to protect forests and preserve the environment. Due to the problem, efforts are being made to produce pulp using non-wood plant fibers and the like.
Examples of such non-wood plants include paper mulberry bast fiber, hemp, cotton and manila hemp. Korean Patent Publication Nos. 98-9651 and 93-2604 include a method for producing pulp using rice straw. Is disclosed.
All such efforts are considered efforts to protect trees, which can prevent environmental pollution.
In other words, these efforts aim to protect trees by absorbing pollutants and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by photosynthesis, while generating and supplying oxygen.
The development of industry and civilization has actually greatly improved the quality of human life, but the use of energy has increased rapidly, resulting in a rapid increase in greenhouse gas emissions and thus pollution of the global environment. And its side effects are extremely severe.
In a typical example, the ozone layer depletion in Antarctica has progressed very rapidly, causing disasters, global warming and ecosystem destruction that occur due to sudden changes in the climate.
This environmental pollution phenomenon has progressed so rapidly that it has reached a state that threatens the survival of mankind, and thus the Tokyo Protocol on greenhouse gas emissions, which has been delayed by some non-cooperation of highly developed countries, is effective. It has become.
Therefore, manufacturers in various countries are urgently required to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and in extreme cases, additional costs are expected to acquire the right to greenhouse gas emissions. ing.
By the way, rayon corresponding to high-grade fiber uses dissolving pulp produced from wood as a raw material.
With regard to the above-mentioned demand for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, trees are renewable natural materials, but it takes a period of years to decades before they reach a usable level. For these reasons, the rules for the use of wood are strict and there is a real need for the development of eco-friendly materials that can replace trees.
One means for solving this problem, which has received great attention in recent years, is a non-woody plant that eliminates the need for tree cutting.
In other words, when this non-wood plant is used for the production of pulp, there is a great advantage that it is not necessary to cut down a large amount of consumed wood.
Among the non-wood plants, bamboo, which is attracting attention and used as a raw material in the present invention, is produced in large quantities in Southeast Asian countries such as China and Myanmar, and is sufficiently used to be usable within about five years. Growing up.
In recent years, in China, a technique for producing dissolving pulp using bamboo having antibacterial activity and for producing rayon fiber using this dissolving pulp has been developed.
However, this technology does not take into account the compact structure of bamboo, so that bamboo pulping is not achieved satisfactorily, and consumes large amounts of chemicals and energy, and the bleaching process Is carried out under strong conditions and has the disadvantage of low yield. In addition, this technique causes fiber breakdown and breakage, which weakens the fiber.
Chlorine bleaching using elemental chlorine produces dioxins.
Further, since bleaching powder that acts as a cause of corrosion of the apparatus is used as a bleaching chemical, the durability of the manufacturing apparatus becomes a big problem.
Furthermore, this processing problem acts as a cause of increased chemical amount, energy consumption and production cost per unit of pulp production.
The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-described problems caused by the prior art, and the object of the present invention is to cut the bamboo in the longitudinal direction and to cut the broken bamboo into the short length in the lateral direction. Good quality fiber (dissolved) using bamboo, consisting of cutting and dissolving the hemicellulose by prehydrolysis from the cut material and then bleaching the prehydrolyzed material with a bleach that produces low environmental contamination It is to provide a method for producing pulp; thus, this method provides a high pulp production yield and does not release environmental pollutants such as dioxins.
Another object of the present invention is a method for producing dissolved (fiber) pulp using bamboo, and its intended use by applying a technique that can optionally adjust the degree of polymerization of the fiber pulp. Different quality pulps can be produced, and xylose, which forms the majority of the hemicellulose dissolved during the prehydrolysis step, is recovered from the solution and purified and then from the pulp after prehydrolysis. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a dissolved (fiber) pulp capable of producing by-product xylose using a method of digesting separated waste, and a pulp produced by this method.

FIG. 1 is a flowchart continuously showing the manufacturing method of the present invention.
FIG. 2 shows a typical centrifugal cleaner.
The present invention is similar to the prior art in that it relates to a method for producing fiber pulp.
However, the present invention uses bamboo, a non-wood plant, to produce pulp; in the production of pulp, chemical and energy consumption is reduced by treating the bamboo to facilitate hydrolysis and digestion. Minimizing the production of dangerous substances such as dioxins that can occur in the bleaching process; and xylose contained in the hemicellulose dissolved during the prehydrolysis process of the present invention (also used as a raw material for gums) Thus, there is a clear difference from the prior art in that there is no need to cut the wood present on the earth and that pulp made from bamboo has a surprisingly good quality . Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
As shown in the flowchart of FIG. 1, the first step of the method of the present invention for producing fiber (dissolved) pulp comprises a step of removing bamboo leaves (bamboo leaf removal step).
In other words, bamboo leaves contain large amounts of extract that are unnecessary to produce pulp, but essentially contain only a small amount of fibrous material.
Therefore, bamboo leaves are removed before being introduced into the process of producing dissolved pulp because they serve as a cause of increased chemical consumption, rather than serving to produce pulp.
In other words, in the method of the present invention for producing bamboo pulp, bamboo leaves are not used, but only bamboo trunks are used.
Next, a second step (longitudinal tearing step) for longitudinally breaking the bamboo to a width of 1.5-3 mm is performed.
Due to the compression structure of bamboo, the penetration of chemicals into bamboo is significantly more difficult than wood.
Therefore, it is necessary to perform pulverization in order to start production of pulp. For this purpose, first the bamboo is cut in half vertically and then the cut bamboo is cut into a narrower width.
In this step, it is preferable to break the bamboo to a width of 1.5-3 mm.
This longitudinal tearing is a very characteristic process of the present invention, and if the bamboo is torn indiscriminately without taking the direction into account, the fiber material will not tear uniformly, rather, The fiber material itself can be destroyed.
This reduces the strength of the produced pulp and reduces its quality.
For this reason, in the manufacturing method of the present invention, bamboo is used after being cut in a longitudinal direction many times to make it narrow.
A method of tearing bamboo in one step using an apparatus with multiple blades may also be used.
Next, a third step (cutting step) is performed in which the bamboo that has been cut in the vertical direction is cut in the horizontal direction to a length of 10-30 mm.
In other words, in order to produce small bamboo chips that are easily loaded and filled into cooking cattails, the torn bamboo is cut laterally to a length of 10-30 mm using a cutter.
If the length of the bamboo chip is too large, the bamboo chip cannot be effectively filled into the digester, and if the bamboo is cut to an excessively short length, there will be significant damage to the fibers. And the strength of the pulp is reduced.
Next, a fourth step (screening step) is performed in which small fragments or impurities are filtered from the bamboo chips.
In other words, even if the pulp is manufactured from small pieces generated in the process of cutting the bamboo, the pulp is in a state where the fiber material is destroyed. Accordingly, these small pieces reduce pulp strength and increase chemical consumption.
Also, contaminants during the cutting process are useless for producing pulp.
Therefore, when all of these small pieces and contaminants are used in the production of fiber (dissolved) pulp, they do not increase the yield (production rate) of the pulp and will adversely affect the quality of the pulp. Let's go. For this reason, small fragments and contaminants are removed by sorting.
Next, a fifth step (cleaning step) is performed in which the bamboo chip is washed with water to remove impurities, contaminants, and dust from the bamboo chip.
That is, contaminants, dust and the like adhering to the bamboo chip are removed with water.
This reduces unnecessary consumption of chemicals in the cooking process and makes it possible to obtain pure pulp, thus improving the quality of the produced pulp.
Then, the sixth step (preliminary hydrolysis step) is performed, and the washed bamboo chips are subjected to preliminary hydrolysis using water or steam, to accelerate the preliminary hydrolysis and dissolve hemicellulose from the bamboo chips. Depending on the degree of prehydrolysis required, sulfur dioxide or sulfuric acid is added to the chip.
In other words, the bamboo chips are subjected to prehydrolysis to maximize the yield of fiber (dissolved) pulp in the bamboo chips and dissolve the hemicellulose.
This hydrolysis is carried out with liquid water or steam using sulfur dioxide or sulfuric acid as catalyst.
This pre-hydrolysis is aimed at dissolving hemicellulose from bamboo chips, so when acid is used alone, acid hydrolysis occurs vigorously and the cellulose is severely destroyed.
For this reason, the acid must be controlled to an appropriate liquid ratio according to the operating environment.
In this step, the ratio of the amount of liquid water, the amount of catalyst and the amount of bamboo chips is preferably adjusted to a range of 1.5-7: 1 depending on the required degree of hydrolysis.
In other words, the pre-hydrolysis is performed with a ratio of water-containing liquid to bamboo chips of 1.5-7: 1.
In this step, hemicellulose in the chemical components of the bamboo is decomposed to produce an organic acid, thereby causing bamboo hydrolysis.
Accordingly, the desired degree of polymerization and the degree of hydrolysis of hemicellulose must be adjusted using the feature that hydrolysis proceeds smoothly when the liquid ratio increases.
In other words, with respect to the liquid ratio, when the weight of the bamboo chip is 1 based on the absolute dry weight, the volume of the aqueous solution (in the case where a chemical such as a catalyst is contained, the chemical is dissolved in water) Is 1.5-7.
Also, the use of the liquid ratio facilitates uniform contact between the bamboo chip and the chemical during the reaction, and changes the strength (concentration) of the chemical that contacts the bamboo chip according to the liquid ratio. The purpose is to adjust the degree of reaction.
Moreover, although the conditions of a prehydrolysis process can be changed a little according to the quality requested | required, it is preferable to perform prehydrolysis for 40-200 minutes at 100-200 degreeC.
Such conditions have been determined by numerous experiments conducted by the applicant.
As used herein, the term “oven-dry weight” means the weight of a bamboo chip, excluding the moisture content in the bamboo chip.
In order to calculate the absolute dry weight, the moisture content of the bamboo chip is measured, and the weight of the bamboo chip alone is calculated based on the measured value.
By the way, in the sixth step (preliminary hydrolysis) of the present invention, xylose can be further extracted.
In other words, bamboo contains pentosans in large amounts, equivalent to 22%, and pentosans dissolve during the pre-hydrolysis to produce fiber (dissolved) pulp.
Although these pentosans are discarded as waste in the prior art, xylose, which forms a large part of pentosans, can be used as an important raw material for producing furfural, xylitol or sweeteners.
In other words, the xylose dissolved in the sixth step (prehydrolysis) can be obtained by concentrating the solution separated from the prehydrolyzed pulp using a heat exchange system or waste heat.
Methanol or ethanol is added to the concentrated solution to precipitate xylose by the alkanol precipitation method or by the neutralization method.
Xylose can also be dissolved in the seventh step (cooking step) described later.
In other words, the xylose dissolved in the cooking step is recovered by separating the alkali and the xylose solution and the xylose solution is subjected to the same dissolution step as described above.
Next, the seventh step (cooking step) is carried out; in this step, bamboo chips are introduced into the cooking cattails, and the bamboo chips are introduced into the cooking cattails at a high temperature, 1: 3.5-6.0.
Distill at a liquid ratio of (bamboo chip: chemical); this liquid ratio indicates the ratio of the chemical consisting of water, alkali and anthraquinone to the bamboo chip. Thus, the bamboo chips are softened and pulped.
The use of the conventional sulfite method for cooking bamboo chips has the disadvantage that the fibers are weakened and the pulp yield is low.
Thus, the present invention applies the soda-AQ method to promote delignification, prevent alpha-cellulose degradation and increase pulp yield.
In other words, the soda-AQ method consists of adding a liquid consisting of alkali (mainly NaOH), anthraquinone and water in a liquid ratio of 3.5-6.0: 1 with respect to the absolute dry weight of the bamboo chips.
In the soda-AQ method, the amount of alkali added to water (as Na 2 O) is the absolute dry weight of the bamboo chip (ie, the weight excluding the water content in the bamboo chip). Preferably, it is 10-30%, and anthraquinone (AQ) is preferably added in an amount of 0.01-2%.
The temperature of the cooking process is preferably 140-180 ° C, and the cooking time is preferably controlled in the range of 90-200 minutes depending on the degree of polymerization and the quality of the pulp produced.
Since the fact that xylol can be extracted also in this step has already been described in the sixth step (prehydrolysis), the description thereof is omitted here.
Then, the eighth step (contaminant removing step) is performed; in this step, the contaminant introduced together with the bamboo is removed using a centrifugal cleaner.
In other words, the centrifugal cleaner shown in FIG. 2 is used to remove contaminants introduced into the treatment process along with the bamboo.
Briefly, the centrifugal cleaner is a conical device such as that shown in FIG. 2 and is used to remove contaminants from the digested pulp. The contaminants to be removed mainly consist of sand, metal pieces and glass pieces and can be introduced in each of the processing steps.
Centrifugal cleaners are used in view of the fact that the specific gravity of the pulp approaches 1 when it is completely wetted with water, while the specific gravity of the contaminants described above is greater than 1.
Accordingly, when the pulp is introduced into the
According to this action, the relatively light pulp moves inside and is discharged through the accept 20, and heavy contaminants move outside and discharged to the bottom 30.
Since the above centrifugal cleaner is well known to those skilled in the art, the present invention is not limited to this, and various other centrifugal cleaners may be used.
A ninth step (fractionation step) is then performed; in this step, a pressure screen is used to remove contaminants from the digested pulp and the incompletely digested portion of the pulp is returned to the digester.
In other words, fibers and contaminants that have not been dissociated are removed using a pressure screen.
The portion that has passed through the pressure screen is supplied to the next step, the portion remaining on the screen is filtered through the vibrating screen, the portion remaining on the vibrating screen is discarded, and the fibrous or incompletely digested portion is shown in FIG. Return to cooking catamare as shown.
The tenth step (washing and concentrating step) is then performed; in this step, the pulp is washed using a decker to remove chemicals and the pulp is concentrated by squeezing water.
A decker (not shown) is a device that functions to wash pulp and concentrate it by squeezing water. The pulp is washed using a decker and concentrated to a concentration suitable for bleaching.
In this step, the washing operation is repeated at least three times to remove as much fine powder and soft tissue cells as possible.
Next, the eleventh step (bleaching step) which is very important in the present invention is performed.
換言すれば、環境ホルモンのダイオキシンの発生のごとき環境問題を排除するために、ECF(元素状塩素不使用、elementary chlorine-free)又はTCF(全塩素不使用、total chlorine-free)漂白法が使用される。 In other words, ECF (elemental chlorine-free) or TCF (total chlorine-free) bleaching methods are used to eliminate environmental problems such as the generation of environmental hormone dioxins. Is done.
As the bleaching step of this step, DED, DEDD, DEDP, DEZP, DEOP, DEOZ and PEOZ are selectively applied. The bleaching process, the number of bleaching steps and the bleaching conditions are determined according to the required degree of bleaching.
In the above description of the bleaching process, D means chlorine dioxide bleaching, E means alkaline extraction, P means peroxide bleaching, O means oxygen bleaching, Z means ozone bleaching To do.
If the pulp contains a large amount of metal ions, bleaching efficiency can be achieved by inactivating the metal ions by treating the pulp with a chelating agent (EDTA, DTPA, DTPMPA, etc.) before bleaching the pulp. Increase.
Here, chelating agents are chemicals that disable the reactivity of metal ions, and when a large amount of metal ions are present in the pulp, these metal ions significantly reduce the performance of the chemicals used for bleaching. Will let you.
For this reason, when the content of metal ions is large and, as a result, the metal ions reduce the bleaching efficiency, the pulp is treated with a chelating agent before the pulp is bleached.
As an example of a bleaching process that uses multiple bleaching steps, bleaching step DEDD has four consecutive bleaching steps: (1) chlorine dioxide bleaching, (2) alkaline extraction, (3) chlorine dioxide bleaching and (4) ) Indicates that it is performed by chlorine dioxide bleaching.
In other words, the "various" bleaching steps described above can be selected by the pulp manufacturer according to the whiteness or chemical purity required for the pulp to be produced or according to the operator's choice. It is shown that.
For purposes of increasing the number of bleaching steps, if the demand for whiteness or chemical purity is high, the number of bleaching steps can be increased or the amount of chemical used can be increased. Even when the same level is required, harmful effects on pulp (damage, decomposition, etc. of pulp) can be achieved by using a method that reduces the amount of chemicals used in each process and increases the number of processes. ) Can be minimized.
Therefore, even when the same level of quality is required, it is possible to adjust the number of bleaching steps or the amount of chemicals used, and therefore the state of the pulp supplied to the bleaching step can be adjusted as described above. It is difficult to express the above adjustment as an absolute value because it varies depending on the degree of prehydrolysis and pulping or cooking performed in
However, when bleaching fibers (dissolving pulp), first measure the content of lignin in the pulp produced in cooking cattail, and calculate the amount of bleaching chemical added according to the measured content. Preferably, the amount of bleaching chemical is increased or decreased depending on the quality required.
Thus, according to the present invention, the bleaching agent can be used to prevent the generation of dioxins, which are environmental pollutants, and an excellent bleaching effect can be obtained.
Next, a twelfth step (acid treatment and washing step) for removing metal ions from the surface and inside of the pulp is performed.
In other words, to remove metal ions present on and inside the fiber (dissolved) pulp, the pulp is adjusted to pH 3-5, treated with acid at room temperature for 20-110 minutes, and the pulp is neutral. Wash with clean water until the pH range is reached.
The treatment time is preferably increased or decreased depending on the content of metal ions and the difficulty of removal.
Finally, a thirteenth step (sheet forming step) is performed to turn the pulp into a sheet or roll (roll).
The present invention also encompasses all fiber (dissolved) pulps produced using bamboo according to the method as described above, which pulps can be in sheet or roll form.
The sheet-like pulp is preferably produced so as to have a thickness of 0.1 to 3 mm, and the roll-like pulp can be obtained by making the pulp into a web having a thickness of 0.1 to 1.5 mm and winding the web into a roll. preferable.
That is, since the roll-like pulp must be wound around a roller, it is preferably produced in a form thinner than the sheet-like pulp.
In the following, the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

It is possible to manufacture. Also, by applying the soda-AQ method using anthraquinone as a catalyst in the cooking process to bamboo pulping, according to the present invention, a great effect on delignification is obtained, the quality of the pulp is improved, and the pulp The yield is increased.
Also, the application of ECF and TCF bleaching methods solves environmental problems, and by adjusting the prehydrolysis, cooking and bleaching conditions, the content of alpha-cellulose according to the nature of the rayon to be produced And the degree of polymerization can be adjusted at will.
The xylose dissolved in the fiber (dissolving) pulp manufacturing process is recovered, and the recovered xylose is used as a raw material for manufacturing xylitol, sweeteners, furfural, etc. An increase can be achieved.
