BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
SURFACE CLEANER / SPRAYER / RECOVERY UNIT CROSS REFERENCE Based on US Provisional Patent Application No. 60 / 021,062 dated 2 July 1996 and pending US Patent Application No. 08 / 746,025 dated 4 November 1996 Insist. US patent application Ser. No. 08 / 746,025 is a file wrapper for US patent application Ser. No. 08 / 343,193 (currently abandoned) dated November 22, 1994, which is a divisional application of US patent application Ser. No. 08 / 118,139, filed Sep. 8, 1993. This is a continuation-in-part of US Patent Application No. 08 / 615,797GOU dated March 14, 1996, which is a continuation.
[0002]
The present invention relates generally to mobile flat surface treatment systems, and more particularly to a centrifugal power wash system that uses spray water to clean flat surfaces such as concrete, asphalt and various other hard surfaces. )
[0003]
The aircraft is sprayed with an anti-icing agent while in the airport apron or runway. A large amount of anti-icing agent falls on the flat surface and collects in the expansion joints to form cracks. If this fluid (the anti-icing agent) is not removed quickly, the fluid will flow through cracks and surface joints and eventually flow into rivers, lakes and streams. The invention also relates to a pick-up system or processing system that can efficiently and quickly pick up liquid from flat surfaces and cracks and stretch joints formed on the flat surfaces.
[0004]
The invention also relates to a mobile system for treating flat surfaces for picking up or reusing sprayed water and waste from the surface in an excellent manner.
[0005]
The present invention further relates to a power washing system that collects and filters the sprayed water and then recycles the filtered water to a system for further use in washing.
[0006]
[Prior art]
Apparatus and methods for selectively cleaning flat surfaces using a mobile centrifugal power cleaning system are well known in the art. Mobile centrifugal powered cleaning systems generally clean surfaces by spraying water at a high rotational speed. A typical mobile centrifugal power cleaning system includes a water storage means for holding water to be used for cleaning, a water pumping system for pumping and pressurizing water from the water storage means, and spraying water onto a surface. And a centrifugal water sprayer. A typical power washing system further includes a system for heating water so that high temperature and high pressure water can be used to clean the surface.
[0007]
One problem associated with prior art power washing systems is the inability to recover a large amount of sprayed liquid. For this reason, contaminants contained in the unrecovered liquid remain on the surface to be cleaned. Also, since liquid is consumed from the system, it must be supplied from an external source available at the work site. Also, prior art machines cannot recycle the recovered liquid so that the recycled liquid can be used effectively in the next cycle. Prior art systems cannot operate as stand-alone self-contained systems where water can be continuously collected, filtered and recycled for further use by a power wash system. Thus, prior art systems are limited in the amount of water they can store or transport (ie, the capacity of the water storage means). When fresh water is not available and the contaminated liquid cannot be drained on site, the system operator must leave the site to discard the contaminated water and replenish with fresh clean water from an external source. For this reason, the prior art system needs to use a large amount of water and cannot recover a large amount of waste. There is also an increasing objection from the environmental point of view of throwing away liquid waste harmful to the drainage system. Therefore, it is desired to recover and reuse most of the water sprayed by the outdoor cleaning system. There is also a need to isolate and retain the collected waste for acceptable disposal.
[0008]
If the surface is covered with a liquid such as ethylene glycol, it cannot be recycled by the mobile unit, and it is desirable to collect or pick up the liquid for further processing. ing. Due to the highly efficient vacuum system of the present invention as well as the ability of the system of the present invention to cover a wide range of swaths by combining individual units as a combined unit, the present invention is a highly efficient pickup system. Function.
[0009]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In solving the problems and limitations of the prior art, it is an object of the present invention to clean and clean a flat surface using a mobile centrifugal power washing system with a water recycling system that recovers almost all of the sprayed water. There is to process. The mobile centrifugal power washing system Mobile centrifuge Recycle and filter the water sprayed by the power washing system and Mobile centrifuge It can also be combined with a filtration / recycling system that has the ability to return almost 100% of the water used by the power wash system. The recovered liquid is processed to remove and isolate the waste, and the purified liquid is stored so that it can be used for continuous use of the system.
[0010]
The object of the present invention is to provide a device for picking up liquid from a flat surface and cracks, cracks and stretch joints formed on the flat surface, while solving the problems and limitations of the prior art. The liquid is picked up by a very efficient and powerful centrifugal power pick-up unit that can handle the liquid and thus recover the liquid before it is washed away or absorbed.
[0011]
The mobile centrifugal power washing system of the present invention also includes Mobile centrifuge The water sprayed by the power washing system can be reused and filtered and combined with a filtration / recycling system that has the ability to return almost 100% of the water used by the power washing system. The recovered liquid is processed to remove and isolate waste, and the purified liquid is Mobile centrifugal power washing Stored available for continuous use of the system.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention relates to a treatment system that uses high-pressure water for washing a flat surface and collects most of spray water containing solids recovered from the surface.
[0013]
The processing system of the present invention also functions as a pick-up system that recovers liquid deposited on the surface and prevents the liquid from being absorbed into the environment and contaminating the environment. These recovered liquids are safely discarded or recycled. The system of the present invention comprises a water storage means for holding water used for cleaning, a water pumping system for pumping and pressurizing water, and a centrifugal sprayer for spraying water on the surface. Yes. An improvement of the system of the present invention is the provision of a power driven recovery rotor that picks up all the liquid sprayed by the system. The recovered liquid is then filtered, processed and placed in storage means for further use in cleaning by the system. The system of the present invention is preferably provided with a water heater for heating the water.
[0014]
Another feature of this aspect of the invention is that it has a top inlet and a detachable inclined trough below the inlet, the bottom of the trough being provided with a screen-type outlet for filtering large solids from the water. Leaving the small solids still present in the water, allowing the water to continuously fill the chamber and flow into the adjacent chamber, leading the cleaned water continuously to the next chamber The filter tank structure further includes a plurality of tandem chambers.
[0015]
Another feature of this aspect of the invention resides in a mobile platform with attached system components for transport to the work site.
[0016]
Another aspect of the present invention is to spray high pressure high temperature water at a high rotational speed. Mobile centrifuge In the centrifugal water sprayer of the power washing system. The improvement of this nebulizer is that between the two silicon carbide faces (one face is stationary and the other face so that water flows through a central bore that penetrates the seal member to prevent leakage through the rotary union. Is a seal of a rotary union formed on a surface that can be rotated at a high rotation speed, and an O-ring that prevents leakage from the periphery of the rotary union.
[0017]
Another feature of this aspect of the invention is to provide a rotary union with a leak-proof seal having a cylindrical support member that is slidably mounted with a first silicon carbide seal surface at one end. It is in. The support member is provided with a central through-bore, and the slidable mounting member forms an interface between the central bore formed in the housing and the outer surface of the cylindrical support member. This feature of the present invention further includes sealing the interface by sandwiching an O-ring that engages the central bore of the housing between the other end of the cylindrical support member and the downwardly pressed washer. A spindle with a second silicon carbide sealing surface attached to the end adjacent the cylindrical support member is supported in the other central bore. A central bore is formed at the discharge end of the spindle, whereby a rotary union is formed by sealingly engaging the first seal surface and the second seal surface. In this way, fluid or water flowing into the inlet end of the housing flows through the central bore, O-ring, spindle and rotary union of the member and from the discharge end of the spindle without leaking from around the seal of the rotary union. leak.
[0018]
Another feature of this aspect of the invention is that the inner bore portion of the pressed washer extends axially downward and the inner bore portion of the other end of the cylindrical support member extends axially upward. Including supporting the bore. This structure prevents the O-ring from being pushed into the central bore of the cylindrical member by high pressure water present at the interface.
[0019]
Yet another feature of this aspect of the invention includes applying an upward force to the spindle in further sealing engagement with the sealing surface in response to a downward force of fluid exiting a nozzle attached to the recovery rotor.

A problem associated with prior art rotary unions is their short life cycle. Prior art rotary union parts are subject to excessive wear at fairly high speeds due to high pressure and high temperature. The rapid deterioration of these parts causes the seal of the rotary union to leak, which results in the mobile atomizer / recovery unit 50 not functioning properly or efficiently.

All the above embodiments can also be used as a liquid pick-up mechanism for treating a surface covered with liquid that is not deposited on the surface by the mechanism of the present invention. An example of such an application is cleaning an anti-icing agent that falls onto a surface while the aircraft is sprayed to prevent freezing under severe weather conditions. For this treatment, anti-icing agents such as ethylene glycol, methyl alcohol and ethyl alcohol are used. These anti-icing agents are harmful to the environment, especially when they flow into rivers, streams and lakes. When the anti-icing agent falls on the concrete surface on which the aircraft is placed, the anti-icing agent soaks the adjacent surfaces and forms a pool. Some of this surface liquid can be recovered by existing vacuum systems supported by trucks. However, the anti-icing agent fills surface cracks, cracks and expansion joints in a relatively short time and flows into these. Conventional vacuum surface cleaners cannot recover the anti-icing agent from cracks, cracks and stretch joints. Anti-icing agents that flow into cracks, cracks and stretch joints flow into sewers and storm drains, and finally into rivers, streams and lakes.
[0068]
For the above reasons, it is important to recover the anti-icing agent as quickly as possible. The cleaning width of a conventional vacuum pickup system is relatively narrow, about 8 feet, and advances at a relatively slow speed. Each modular of the present invention is supported against the lower surface of the modular such that a brush seal extending along the periphery engages the surface. While brush seals concentrate the vacuum pick-up of the present invention in a relatively small area, the vacuum is very powerful and effective. A combined unit consisting of 8-12 modular units can be used to process very wide widths of 20-30 feet and quickly recovers anti-icing agent before it enters the rainwater basin .
[0069]
Although the recovered anti-icing agent can be reused, this method cannot be performed economically at a remote site. Therefore, the recovered anti-icing agent must be transported for collection in a fixed processing facility. When the present invention is used as a liquid pickup mechanism, the reuse system of the present invention is not used. The recovered anti-icing agent can be collected, for example, in a
