Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a temperature sensor that is attached to, for example, an intake pipe of an internal combustion engine of an automobile and used to measure the temperature of an object such as a gas flowing through the pipe.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, for example, the temperature (intake air temperature) of intake gas (for example, air) flowing through the intake pipe of an internal combustion engine such as an automobile engine is measured with a temperature sensor, and the combustion efficiency is optimized according to the measured value It is known to control the state.
[0003]
However, as the internal combustion engine becomes smaller and lighter, the intake pipe is often disposed closer to the internal combustion engine itself. The intake pipe arranged in this way may be heated by receiving heat of the internal combustion engine itself. As a result, there is a difference between the temperature of the intake pipe and the temperature of the intake gas flowing through the intake pipe.
[0004]
Therefore, a temperature sensor attached to such an intake pipe needs to be configured so as not to be affected as much as possible from the heat of the intake pipe itself in order to accurately measure the temperature of the intake gas.
And as a temperature sensor comprised in this way, two types (

[0018]
[Means for solving the problems, effects of the invention]
The invention according to
The element holding portion is substantially axially symmetric with respect to the main axis, and the element holding portion has a flange portion whose diameter is increased in a direction perpendicular to the main axis for directly or indirectly contacting the attachment target. In the main axis direction of the element holding part, the temperature detecting element is held and the screw part is fixed to one end side which is the attachment object side. The screw portion is made of a cylindrical metal, and a part of the screw portion on the other end side in the main axis direction is embedded in the element holding portion to form an embedded portion, and the side wall of the embedded portion is Two or more holes are formed, and the resin that forms the element holding part is filled in the hole part, so that the element holding part is integrally formed on the inner wall side and the outer wall side of the screw part.It is characterized by being.
[0019]
According to the temperature sensor of the present invention (claim 1), the temperature detecting element side protrudes to the inside of the attachment object through the attachment hole formed in the attachment object, and for example, the flange portion of the element holding part is predetermined. By tightening using the tightening tool, the thread of the threaded portion is crimped to the inner wall of the mounting hole and finally fixed to the mounting object.
[0020]
And in the temperature sensor of the present invention, after fixing to the attachment object, the screw part and the temperature detection element are arranged inside the attachment object, the screw part is not exposed to the outside of the attachment object, Only the resin element holding part and the like are exposed.
That is, in the temperature sensor of the present invention, since the metal portion of the screw portion does not touch the outside air outside the object to be attached, heat can be prevented from being dissipated to the outside as much as possible. . As a result, heat transfer between the temperature detection element side and the outside of the attachment object is less likely to occur, and the temperature on the temperature detection element side can always maintain the temperature of the gas to be measured, for example.
[0021]
Therefore, for example, the temperature sensor of the present invention has high responsiveness to changes in the temperature of the gas to be measured, and can accurately measure the temperature of the measurement object.Further, the resin forming the element holding portion is filled in the hole portion, so that the screw portion and the element holding portion are fixed so as not to move firmly. For this reason, even if it is a case where the collar part of an element holding part is tightened using a predetermined tool, an element holding part does not rotate and move to a screw part. Therefore, the temperature sensor can be reliably attached to the attachment object.
And if the collar part of an element holding | maintenance part is formed so that a polygonal shape may be exhibited as described in
[0022]
Moreover, in the conventional temperature sensor, since the collar part which exhibits a polygonal shape was formed in the outer periphery of the screw part (metal shell), the heat capacity of the entire screw part was relatively large only by the volume of the collar part. However, in the present invention (Claim 2), since the flange portion is formed in the element holding portion, the heat capacity of the entire screw portion is smaller than that of the conventional temperature sensor.
[0023]
As a result, when there is a difference between the temperature of the screw portion (and thus the temperature sensor itself) and the temperature of the gas to be measured, for example, the temperature of the screw portion is the screw portion of the conventional temperature sensor ( Compared with the metal shell), the temperature of the gas quickly reaches the temperature, and the temperature on the temperature detecting element side also quickly reaches the temperature of the gas.
[0024]
Therefore, for example, the temperature sensor of the present invention has high responsiveness to changes in the temperature of the gas to be measured, and can accurately measure the temperature of the measurement object.
And in such a temperature sensor, as described in claim 3, the periphery of the temperature detection element is covered with a covering case formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape in which one end side in the main axis direction is closed and the other end side is opened, Moreover, the covering case may be fixed to the element holding portion.
[0025]
Here, the covering case is provided mainly for the purpose of protecting the temperature detecting element. In the present invention (Claim 3), the covering case is fixed to the screw portion via a resin-made element holding portion without directly contacting the screw portion. For this reason, even if the heat of the gas is received by the covering case, since the element holding portion exists between the screw portion and the covering case, the heat is not easily transmitted to the screw portion, and the conventional temperature Compared with the sensor, heat transfer between the temperature detection element and the gas is less likely to occur.
[0026]
On the other hand, you may make it provide the coating | coated part which covers a temperature detection element in the main-axis direction one end side with respect to a thread part, as described in
[0027]
In order to actually form such a covering portion, for example, the screw portion may be formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape with one end closed and the other end opened. In this way, the cylinder closed end side can be used as the covering portion, and the metal screw portion is not exposed to the outside of the attachment object, so that the covering portion is compared with the conventional temperature sensor. It is possible to make it difficult for heat transfer between the attachment object and the outside of the attachment target.

In each of the above embodiments, the thermistor is arranged inside the cylinder holding tip or the metal shell in the state of being housed inside the element holding part. A metal shell is formed on the metal shell (for example, formed as the metal shell shown in FIGS. 1 and 2), and the thermistor and the signal line connected to the thermistor are projected from the tip of the metal shell by a predetermined length. The element holding part may be formed by injection molding so as to cover the thermistor with respect to the metal shell in the state. That is, in this case, a part of the element holding part protrudes from the tip of the metal shell, and the thermistor is housed inside.
[0063]
Even in this case, the thermistor is firmly protected by the element holding portion, and the heat of the suction gas is transmitted to the tip side of the element holding portion (that is, the portion where the thermistor is disposed). It is difficult for heat to be conducted to the entire holding part. For this reason, it becomes difficult for heat to be conducted to the inside and outside of the intake pipe via the temperature sensor, and the same effect as in each of the above embodiments can be obtained.
[0064]
In each of the above-described embodiments, the temperature sensor has been described as being used by being attached to the intake pipe. However, it may be used as a temperature sensor (water temperature sensor) for measuring the temperature of the cooling water of the internal combustion engine. Furthermore, it may be used as a temperature sensor for measuring the wall temperature of the internal combustion engine. Or you may make it use also as an oil temperature sensor which measures the temperature of engine oil, mission oil, etc. of an internal combustion engine, or an outside air temperature sensor which measures the outside temperature of a car.
