Description
The present invention relates to a flywheel uninterruptible power supply, and more particularly to a control method for a flywheel uninterruptible power supply that eliminates electrical loss of a generator motor during idle rotation, and an uninterruptible power supply using the same.
A battery-type uninterruptible power supply is known as an uninterruptible power supply for backing up the power supply at the time of a power failure, but this kind of uninterruptible power supply generally uses a lead storage battery, The problem is that the battery life is short and the disposal of the battery leads to environmental destruction. On the other hand, a flywheel uninterruptible power supply device has been attracting attention in recent years because it has a long life and does not generate wastes that cause environmental destruction.
The flywheel uninterruptible power supply device stores energy as rotational energy in a flywheel attached to a generator motor, and converts rotational energy into electrical energy at the time of a power failure.

The flywheel 61 is attached to a rotary shaft 62, and the rotary shaft 62 is supported by a thrust magnetic bearing 63 and a radial magnetic bearing 64. The touchdown bearing 65 also supports the rotating shaft 62. The thrust magnetic bearing 63 includes a thrust magnetic bearing coil 66 and a thrust

In addition to the illustration, a position detection sensor used for controlling the magnetic bearing is disposed at an appropriate position.
When the generator motor is used as an electric motor to increase the rotational speed of the flywheel, the energy is exchanged. When the generator motor is used as a generator to decrease the rotational speed of the flywheel, the energy is exchanged. The time when the rotational speed of the flywheel is maintained is called idle rotation.
The generator motor used for the flywheel uninterruptible power supply includes a permanent magnet synchronous machine having a permanent magnet in the rotor and an induction machine having a cage conductor (or a conductor having the same function) in the rotor. is there. In the induction machine, the difference (slip) between the rotational speed of the rotor and the excitation frequency is controlled. That is, an induction current is generated in the rotor by the rotating magnetic field generated in the stator crossing the rotor conductor, and torque is generated by the induced current and the rotating magnetic field. A voltage having a higher frequency is applied to the stator coil, a voltage having a lower frequency than the frequency proportional to the rotational speed of the flywheel is applied to the stator coil during power generation, and a voltage proportional to the rotational speed of the flywheel is applied during idle rotation. A voltage having the same frequency as the frequency is applied to the stator coil.
Since the flywheel type uninterruptible power supply conforms to the following formula, if the inertia of the flywheel is increased or the rotational speed is increased, a large amount of energy can be stored. In particular, since the term of the rotational speed is square, it is more effective to increase the rotational speed. Further, since it is not desired to increase the inertia of the flywheel for downsizing, it is preferable to increase the rotation speed.
As a problem when the rotational speed is increased, energy loss due to air friction (called air friction loss) occurring in the rotating body (flywheel, rotor, etc.) and energy loss due to eddy current loss occurring in the magnetic bearing (bearing loss) And the problem of increased electrical loss in the generator motor.
As for the air friction loss, a countermeasure of placing the rotating body in a light gas such as vacuum or He is known, and a result that the air friction loss can be greatly reduced is obtained.
As for the bearing loss, the result that the bearing loss can be reduced by adopting the zero power control (Patent Document 1), the new homopolar magnetic pole (Patent Document 2) and the like has been obtained.
As described above, the problem of air friction loss and bearing loss has been solved, but the problem of electric loss of the generator motor has not been solved. In addition, since the problems of air friction loss and bearing loss have been solved, the problem of electrical loss of the generator motor has become the biggest problem that must be solved.
Examining this problem by method, the permanent magnet synchronous machine is efficient because it does not require power supply for tensioning the field, but the field is still tensioned during rotation, so eddy currents, etc. As a result, braking force is generated and loss occurs. On the other hand, in the induction machine, an electric loss occurs because a voltage is applied to the stator coil in order to perform excitation in synchronization with the rotational speed even during idle rotation.
The objective of this invention is providing the control method of a flywheel type uninterruptible power supply device which solved the said subject and eliminated the electric loss of the generator motor at the time of idle rotation, and an uninterruptible power supply device using the same.
In order to achieve the above object, the method of the present invention is a method for controlling a flywheel uninterruptible power supply that stores energy as rotational energy in a flywheel attached to a generator motor. The generator motor is switched to an excited state when shifting from idle to power generation.
When shifting from idle to power generation, the rotational speed of the flywheel may be detected, a power generation excitation frequency may be obtained from this rotational speed, and the generator motor may be in an excited state at this power generation excitation frequency.
First, the excitation frequency corresponding to the rotational speed of the flywheel may be used as the power generation start excitation frequency, and once the generator motor is in an excited state at this power generation start excitation frequency, it may be gradually changed to the power generation excitation frequency. .
A charger may be used to charge the charger during power generation or power generation, and when shifting from idle to power generation, the charger may be discharged to obtain excitation power.
From the time when the generator motor is switched to the excited state until the desired amount of power is generated, the desired amount of power is obtained by adding the power discharged from the charger to the power generated by the generator motor. May be obtained.
The device of the present invention is an uninterruptible power supply device that accumulates energy as rotational energy in a flywheel attached to a generator motor, and is charged at the time of electric drive or power generation with a rotation sensor that detects the rotational speed of the flywheel. The generator is in a non-excited state during idle rotation, and when the generator moves from idle to power generation, the controller is used for power generation determined from the rotational speed detected by the rotation sensor. Excitation power discharged from the charger is applied to the generator motor using an excitation frequency.
The present invention exhibits the following excellent effects.
(1) There is no electrical loss of the generator motor during idle rotation, and energy resources can be used effectively.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
First, the principle of the present invention will be described by comparing FIG. 1 which is a characteristic diagram of the present invention and FIG. 2 which is a characteristic diagram of the background art. FIG. 1 shows how the frequency corresponding to the rotational speed of the flywheel and the excitation frequency in the generator motor change with time in the present invention, and how the excitation voltage changes with time at the same time. It is a thing. FIG. 2 shows a similar situation in the background art. In these figures, “frequency corresponding to rotational speed” is simply referred to as “rotational speed”. Hereinafter, the same notation is used in the specification.
In FIG. 2, that is, in the background art, the excitation frequency and the rotation speed are the same during idle rotation (in the figure, they are drawn while being shifted to avoid overlap), and a predetermined excitation voltage is applied to the generator motor. When shifting from idle to power generation, the excitation frequency is controlled to an excitation frequency (power generation excitation frequency) smaller than the rotation speed. The excitation voltage is kept constant at the same value as during idle rotation. The difference between the excitation frequency and the rotational speed is the so-called slip. During power generation, slip is given to the-side. That is, when the excitation frequency is smaller than the rotational speed, rotational energy corresponding to the slip is extracted in the form of electrical energy. When the rotational speed is gradually decreased due to loss of rotational energy, the power generation excitation frequency is calculated to be low accordingly. As a result, the excitation frequency is lowered and the size of the slip is maintained. Therefore, the desired power is continuously generated. Although not shown in the figure, slip is applied to the + side when electric. That is, by setting excitation frequency> rotational speed, electric energy corresponding to the slip is stored in the form of rotational energy.
In contrast, in FIG. 1, that is, in the present invention, the generator motor is brought into a non-excited state at the time of idling, so the excitation frequency is zero. The excitation voltage is also zero. As indicated by the solid line in the first embodiment, when shifting from idle to power generation, an excitation frequency smaller than the rotational speed by a slip amount is given. This excitation frequency is an excitation frequency for power generation set so that desired power can be taken out based on the rotational speed of the flywheel. The excitation voltage is given the same predetermined value as in FIG. As a result, the above-described slip occurs and power is generated. Although not shown, it is the same as the background art when powered.
The advantage of this method is that no electrical loss occurs because the non-excited state is generated during rotation. However, in the case of an uninterruptible power supply, the point of transition from idling to power generation is the point of time when the upstream has undergone a power outage from a non-power outage, and the excitation voltage cannot be obtained from the outside. It is better to take out the excitation power from the charger.
FIG. 1 also shows the second embodiment. That is, as indicated by the broken line, the excitation frequency is not controlled to the power generation excitation frequency at the moment of transition from idle to power generation, but initially the excitation frequency is set to the power generation start excitation frequency equal to the rotation speed. Once the generator motor is excited at this power generation start excitation frequency. Then, the excitation frequency is gradually brought closer to the power generation excitation frequency.
FIG. 1 also shows the third embodiment. That is, as indicated by the broken line, the excitation voltage is not suddenly brought to the same predetermined value as in FIG. 2 at the moment of transition from idle to power generation, but initially the excitation voltage is sufficiently small to be zero or close to it. After that, the excitation voltage is gradually brought close to a predetermined value.
A fourth embodiment in which the second embodiment and the third embodiment are used together is also possible.
In the second to fourth embodiments, rapid excitation from a non-excited state can be avoided. On the other hand, it takes time for the excitation frequency or excitation voltage to reach the final target value. This time is called a time lag. During the time lag, the desired amount of electrical energy cannot be extracted because the slip is small. Therefore, the shortage of electrical energy should be compensated by taking it out of the charger. If it does in this way, when it sees from the load side, even if it changes to the time of electric power generation from idle time, the amount of power supply which is the same as when the upstream is a non-power failure can be received continuously.
Next, an uninterruptible power supply using the above method will be described.
As shown in FIG. 3, the uninterruptible power supply according to the present invention includes a
In this embodiment, the main power source is an external AC power source (commercial power source)
