Description
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cooling a mold used for die casting, resin molding, and the like, and in particular, by supplying cooling water and high-pressure air alternately into cooling holes formed in the mold. More specifically, a mold cooling method and a cooling device for cooling a mold, and more specifically, a mold cooling method capable of detecting a clogging state of a cooling water passage through which the cooling water and high-pressure air flow, and The present invention relates to a cooling device.
Conventionally, as a method of cooling a die used for die casting or resin molding, a number of thin cooling holes of φ2.5 mm to φ5.0 mm have been drilled in the die, and a mold cooling pipe is provided in each cooling hole. A so-called intermittent water cooling method is performed in which high pressure cooling water is passed through a cooling pipe for a certain period of time and then the cooling water remaining in the mold cooling holes is removed with high pressure air (for example, patents). Reference 1).
In this mold cooling method, since the cooling pipe through which cooling water and high-pressure air flow and the inside of the cooling hole (cooling water passage) are narrow, impurities such as dust and scale (scale) contained in the cooling water are likely to be clogged in advance. In addition to taking measures to prevent clogging, it has been desired to be able to detect clogging early.
As a measure for detecting clogging in the cooling pipe through which cooling water and high-pressure air circulate and the inside of the cooling hole (hereinafter referred to as cooling water passage), a flow sensor is installed in the cooling water passage to flow through the cooling water passage. A method for monitoring the change in the flow rate of the cooling water can be considered. That is, if the cooling water passage is clogged with impurities such as dust and scale, the flow rate of the cooling water flowing through the cooling water passage is reduced accordingly. It is thought that clogging can be detected.
However, in general, flow sensors are likely to fail in an environment in which high-pressure cooling water and high-pressure air are alternately circulated, and the outer shape thereof is relatively large and expensive. It is inappropriate to apply to each cooling hole.
The present invention has been made in view of such a current situation, and is a mold that can detect clogging of a cooling water passage through which cooling water and high-pressure air circulate with a simple and inexpensive structure at an early stage.
According to the mold cooling method and cooling apparatus of the present invention, cooling water and high-pressure air are circulated using a robust and inexpensive flow switch without using a flow sensor that is generally expensive and prone to failure. By measuring the passage time of the cooling water flowing through the cooling water passage including the cooling hole of the mold to be clogged, the degree of clogging of the cooling water passage can be easily detected.
Therefore, before the clogging condition of the cooling water passage including the cooling hole of the mold exceeds the allowable range, the foreign matter and scale clogged in the cooling water passage are removed, or the cooling pipe and the die constituting the cooling water passage. Necessary maintenance such as replacement of parts (core pins, etc.) can be performed. As a result, the mold can always be appropriately cooled while maintaining the mold temperature at the set temperature.

And in 1st invention of this invention, as shown in FIG. 2, the
