BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a gas sterilizer for sterilizing articles to be sterilized such as clothes, bedding, and medical equipment materials using a sterilization gas such as ethylene oxide, and to detoxify and discharge harmful sterilization gas after the sterilization process is completed. The present invention relates to an exhaust gas treatment method and apparatus for a gas sterilizer.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Medical sterilizers include a steam sterilizer using steam and a gas sterilizer using a sterilization gas such as ethylene oxide.
[0003]
The gas sterilizer includes a positive pressure type sterilizer that holds the inside of the sterilization tank at a slightly higher positive pressure with respect to atmospheric pressure and sterilizes with about 10 to 30% ethylene oxide gas, and a sterilization tank. There is a negative pressure type sterilizer that maintains a negative pressure slightly lower than the atmospheric pressure and sterilizes with 100% concentration ethylene oxide gas.
[0004]
The ethylene oxide gas used in the gas sterilizer is harmful to the human body and explosive, so it must be handled with care. However, in the positive pressure type sterilizer, sterilization in the sterilization tank is required. Recently, negative pressure type sterilizers are becoming mainstream from the viewpoint of safety because gas may leak to the outside and contaminate the surroundings.
[0005]
Further, in the gas sterilizer, it is necessary to exhaust the sterilization gas in the tank completely for the safety of the operator when taking out the sterilized object in the sterilization tank after the sterilization is completed. And in discharging | emitting sterilization gas, it is necessary to collect | recover sterilization gas completely or to make it harmless.
[0006]
As a method for treating such a sterilizing gas, there are a method in which ethylene oxide gas is dissolved in water to treat it as ethylene glycol, and a method in which a combustion furnace is installed outdoors and burned.
[0007]
However, the former method requires a large apparatus such as a scrubber in order to sufficiently dissolve the ethylene oxide gas in water, which is uneconomical in terms of equipment. In the latter method, a combustion apparatus for burning ethylene oxide is required, and the apparatus becomes complicated and large in size, which is uneconomical in terms of equipment, and also requires fuel for burning ethylene oxide. It is uneconomical in terms of cost.
[0008]
Therefore, a sterilization gas processing apparatus disclosed in Patent Document 1 below has been devised as a sterilization gas processing apparatus that can decompose sterilization gas with a relatively simple configuration and has a low running cost.
[0009]
The apparatus includes an adsorption tower that adsorbs ethylene oxide gas in exhaust gas, and a catalytic combustion apparatus that is connected in series with the adsorption tower and burns residual ethylene oxide gas in exhaust gas that has passed through the adsorption tower. Yes. In this apparatus, the sterilizing gas discharged from the sterilizer is adsorbed by the adsorption tower, and then the residual ethylene oxide gas is burned by the catalytic combustion apparatus to make it harmless. Further, the ethylene oxide gas adsorbed in the adsorption tower is desorbed with aeration gas from a sterilizer, and the desorbed gas is burned with a catalytic combustion device to be rendered harmless.
[0010]
[Patent Document 1]

[0011]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the sterilization gas processing apparatus, the sterilization gas discharged from the sterilizer is directly passed through the adsorption tower and the catalytic combustion apparatus, and the sterilization gas adsorbed in the adsorption tower is desorbed with the aeration gas. For this reason, it is suitable for detoxification of sterilization gas having an ethylene oxide gas concentration of about 10 to 30%, but when applied to sterilization gas having an ethylene oxide gas concentration of 100%, high concentration ethylene oxide gas exceeding the explosion limit is treated. There is a risk of passing through the apparatus and being introduced into the catalytic combustion apparatus. Therefore, although the sterilization gas treatment apparatus can be used for a positive pressure sterilizer having a relatively low ethylene oxide gas concentration, it is not suitable for a negative pressure sterilizer using a high concentration ethylene oxide gas as a sterilization gas. Could not be used.
[0012]
Further, in the sterilization gas processing apparatus, since the sterilization gas adsorbed by the adsorption tower is desorbed with an aeration gas containing some amount of ethylene oxide gas, it is difficult to completely desorb and promote desorption. It is necessary to provide heating means in the adsorption tower. When desorbing while heating the adsorption tower using activated carbon as the adsorbent, if the heating temperature is about 160 degrees, there is a possibility of ignition and combustion, which is not preferable in terms of safety.
[0013]
In addition, the sterilization gas treatment apparatus has a switching valve or a solenoid valve that reverses the direction of exhaust gas introduction into the adsorption tower. There was a risk that the work to be sterilized was taken out with insufficient ethylene gas discharge.
[0014]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide an exhaust gas treatment method and apparatus for a gas sterilizer that can efficiently and safely detoxify a high-concentration sterilization gas.
[0015]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the exhaust gas treatment method for a gas sterilizer of the present invention is an exhaust gas treatment method for a gas sterilizer that renders exhaust gas from the gas sterilizer harmless,
An adsorption process for adsorbing sterilization gas in the exhaust gas, and a catalytic combustion process for catalytic combustion of the sterilization gas in the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption process,
When introducing exhaust gas into the adsorption processFirstDiluted air introducedAnd
When the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption process is introduced into the catalytic combustion process, the second dilution air is introduced, and negative pressure is applied to the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption process by the air flow of the second dilution air. The above suction process is operated under negative pressure by suckingThe gist is to do so.
[0016]
The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for gas sterilizer of the present invention is an exhaust gas treatment apparatus for gas sterilizer that renders exhaust gas from the gas sterilizer harmless,
An adsorption tower that adsorbs the sterilization gas in the exhaust gas, and a catalytic combustion device that catalytically burns the sterilization gas in the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption tower,
In the first exhaust gas introduction path for introducing exhaust gas into the adsorption towerFirstA first air introduction path for introducing dilution air is provided.,
A second air introduction path for introducing the second dilution air is provided in the second exhaust gas introduction path for introducing the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption tower into the catalytic combustion apparatus, and the second exhaust gas introduction path and the second air introduction are provided. The ejector tower is operated in a negative pressure state by providing an ejector that sucks the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption tower by applying a negative pressure to the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption tower by the air flow of the second dilution air. LikeThis is the summary.
[0017]
That is, when the exhaust gas treatment method for gas sterilizer of the present invention introduces exhaust gas into the adsorption process,FirstDilution air is introduced. Moreover, the exhaust gas treatment apparatus for a gas sterilizer according to the present invention is provided in the first exhaust gas introduction path for introducing exhaust gas into the adsorption tower.FirstA first air introduction path for introducing dilution air is provided. In this way, the exhaust gas introduced into the adsorption tower or adsorption processFirstSince it is introduced by diluting with diluted air, the concentration of the sterilizing gas flowing through the exhaust gas treatment system decreases as a whole, greatly reducing the risk of ignition and explosion.
Moreover, the exhaust gas treatment method for a gas sterilizer of the present invention introduces the second dilution air when introducing the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption step into the catalytic combustion step, and for the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption step, A negative pressure is applied and sucked by the air flow of the second dilution air,
In the exhaust gas treatment apparatus for a gas sterilizer according to the present invention, a second air introduction path for introducing the second dilution air is provided in the second exhaust gas introduction path for introducing the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption tower into the catalytic combustion apparatus, An ejector that sucks the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption tower by applying a negative pressure to the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption tower by the air flow of the second dilution air is provided at a communication portion between the second exhaust gas introduction path and the second air introduction path. .
For this reason, since the exhaust gas introduced into the catalytic combustion device or the catalytic combustion process is diluted with the first and second dilution air and the concentration is further reduced, the risk of ignition and explosion is further reduced, and safety is improved. Get higher.
In addition, by applying a negative pressure to the exhaust gas discharged from the adsorption process and sucking it, the adsorption tower or the adsorption process is operated in a negative pressure state to prevent the backflow of sterilization gas to the sterilizer or from the adsorption tower. The sterilization gas and the surrounding environment can be secured. In addition, since the negative pressure to the adsorption tower or the adsorption process is generated by the air flow of the second dilution air, there is no need for a special suction device or valve operation, and a sterilization gas backflow or the like occurs due to troubles of these devices. Therefore, the apparatus and method are extremely safe.
[0018]
In this case, in particular, make sure that the concentration of the sterilized gas discharged from the adsorption tower is below the explosion limit.FirstWhen the amount of diluted air introduced is controlled, the risk of ignition and explosion can be almost completely eliminated. In particular, in a negative pressure sterilizer using a high-concentration sterilization gas, it becomes possible to make the exhaust gas harmless safely and efficiently, and the safety of the surrounding environment of the sterilizer can be improved. It goes without saying that a safe and efficient detoxification process can also be performed in a positive pressure sterilizer.
[0019]
In this case, the adsorption tower or adsorption processFirstWhen the dilution air is always introduced, the pressure fluctuation of the fluid in the exhaust gas treatment system is reduced and stabilized, and the aging of the apparatus can be prevented to some extent. In addition, the catalytic combustion device or catalytic combustion processFirst and secondSince diluted air flows, overheating of the catalytic combustion apparatus or the like can be prevented, and safety can be further improved.
[0020]
In the exhaust gas treatment method for a gas sterilizer according to the present invention, the adsorption step includesFirstBy constantly introducing diluted air, when the exhaust gas from the sterilizer is interrupted, the sterilized gas adsorbed in the adsorption process isFirstWhen desorbing with dilution air,
Alternatively, in the exhaust gas treatment apparatus for a gas sterilizer of the present invention, the first exhaust gas introduction pathFirstBy constantly introducing dilution air, when the exhaust gas from the sterilizer is interrupted, the sterilized gas adsorbed in the adsorption tower isFirstWhen configured to be desorbed by dilution air,
the aboveFirstThe adsorbent can be regenerated by using diluted air as a desorption gas for the adsorption tower.
[0021]
That is, for example, after the sterilization gas in the sterilizer is exhausted, the atmosphere is introduced into the sterilizer, and aeration is performed to exhaust the exhaust gas by repeating the vacuum exhaust and the air introduction. And in the air introduction process, the exhaust gas introduction from the sterilizer to the exhaust gas treatment device is interrupted, so the adsorption processFirstBy always introducing dilution air, the aboveFirstThe diluted air acts as a desorption gas for the adsorption tower, the adsorbed sterilization gas is desorbed, and the adsorbent is regenerated.
[0022]
And does not contain sterilization gasFirstSince the desorption is performed with diluted air, the desorption efficiency is improved as compared with the conventional method in which desorption is performed with an aeration gas, and it is not necessary to provide a heating means in the adsorption tower. Therefore, the danger of ignition and combustion is avoided and the safety is further improved. Furthermore, in the adsorption tower or adsorption processFirstIf the dilution air is always introduced, the pressure fluctuation of the fluid in the exhaust gas treatment system is reduced and stabilized, and the aging of the apparatus can be prevented to some extent. [0032]
In the adsorption tower 5, for example, a cylindrical case is filled with an adsorbent, and ethylene oxide which is a sterilized gas component in the exhaust gas introduced into the adsorption tower 5 is adsorbed and removed. As the adsorbent, for example, activated carbon, zeolite, silica gel, activated alumina and the like can be used. In particular, activated carbon can be suitably used because the adsorbed ethylene oxide gas can be desorbed relatively easily. These adsorbents can be used alone or in combination.
[0033]
The exhaust port of the adsorption tower 5 and the intake port of the catalytic combustion device 6 are communicated with each other through a second exhaust gas introduction path 9, and the exhaust gas that has passed through the adsorption or the like 5 is introduced into the catalytic combustion device 6. [0034]
The catalyst combustion device 6 is filled with a catalyst and heated to a predetermined temperature, whereby the ethylene oxide gas in the exhaust gas is decomposed and made harmless by catalytic combustion, and is discharged from the processing
[0035]
As the catalyst used in the catalytic combustion apparatus 6, noble metal catalyst can be suitably used because combustion proceeds at a low temperature and low concentration ethylene oxide gas can be catalytically combusted. As such a noble metal catalyst, for example, platinum, rhodium, palladium or the like can be suitably used, and a catalyst in which these noble metals are supported on an appropriate carrier such as silica, alumina, zeolite or the like can be used.

Thus, since desorption is performed with diluted air that does not contain sterilization gas, the desorption efficiency is improved, and there is no need to provide heating means in the adsorption tower 5. Therefore, the danger of ignition and combustion is avoided and the safety is further improved. Furthermore, when dilution air is constantly introduced into the adsorption tower 5 or the adsorption process, the pressure fluctuation of the fluid in the exhaust gas treatment system is reduced and stabilized, and the aging of the apparatus can be prevented to some extent. Further, since the dilution air always flows in the catalytic combustion device 6 or the catalytic combustion process, the catalytic combustion device 6 can be prevented from being overheated and safety can be further improved.
[0058]
The ethylene oxide gas released from the adsorbent by desorption in the air introduction step (Db) is introduced into the catalytic combustion step performed in the catalytic combustion device 5 through the second exhaust gas introduction path 9 and rendered harmless. At this time, similarly to the above description, the diluted air is introduced from the second

Thereafter, the

Here, it is necessary to control the ethylene oxide concentration of the exhaust gas after dilution introduced into the catalytic combustion process to be always 3% or less, which is the explosion limit. Further, it is desirable to control the exhaust gas after adsorption discharged from the adsorption process and the ethylene oxide concentration of the desorption gas so that the explosion limit is always 3% or less.
[0061]
For controlling the concentration of ethylene oxide gas discharged from the adsorption tower 5, for example, depending on the size of the adsorption tower 5 and the type and amount of the adsorbent to be filled, the flow rate of dilution air introduced from the first

Thus, by controlling the amount of diluted air introduced so that the concentration of ethylene oxide gas discharged from the adsorption tower 5 is below the explosion limit, the risk of ignition and explosion can be almost completely eliminated. And in the negative pressure
[0063]
As described above, according to the exhaust gas treatment apparatus and method, since the exhaust gas to be introduced into the adsorption step in the adsorption tower 5 is diluted with diluted air and introduced, the concentration of ethylene oxide gas flowing through the exhaust gas treatment system is entirely The risk of ignition and explosion is greatly reduced. Moreover, by always introducing dilution air into the adsorption process in the adsorption tower 5, the pressure fluctuation of the fluid in the exhaust gas treatment system is reduced and stabilized, and the aging of the apparatus can be prevented to some extent. Further, since the dilution air always flows in the catalytic combustion process in the catalytic combustion device 6, overheating of the catalytic combustion device 6 and the like can be prevented, and safety can be further improved.

Moreover, it is possible to use an appropriate adsorbent other than those exemplified in the above description according to the type of sterilization gas to be adsorbed.
[0072]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the exhaust gas introduced into the adsorption tower or the adsorption process is reduced.FirstSince it is introduced by diluting with diluted air, the concentration of the sterilizing gas flowing through the exhaust gas treatment system decreases as a whole, greatly reducing the risk of ignition and explosion.
Further, since the exhaust gas introduced into the catalytic combustion apparatus or the catalytic combustion process is diluted with the first and second dilution air and the concentration is further reduced, the risk of ignition and explosion is further reduced, and the safety is high. Become.
[0073]
