BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fluid transmission device to which a balance piece is attached .
[0002]
[Prior art]
As is well known, a torque converter, which is one of fluid transmission devices, is a type of joint that can transmit engine power to a transmission using working fluid as a medium. A pump impeller that is turned by the engine, and the pump impeller A turbine runner that rotates in response to the movement of the working fluid sent out by rotation, and a stator that changes the direction of the working fluid from the turbine runner and guides it to the pump impeller.
[0003]
Therefore, a plurality of blades are arranged at predetermined intervals at a predetermined angle on the pump impeller, turbine runner, and stator. The working fluid sealed in the torque converter is sent from the pump impeller through the blades in the outer circumferential direction, travels along the inner wall of the case of the torque converter, hits the blade of the turbine runner, and the turbine runner is the same as the pump impeller. It works to turn in the direction. Further, the working fluid sent out after hitting the turbine runner is changed in the flow direction so as to hit the blades of the stator and promote the rotation of the pump impeller, and flows into the pump impeller again from the inner periphery.
[0004]
FIG. 5 shows a cross section of a conventional torque converter. In the figure, (a) shows a pump impeller, (b) shows a turbine runner, (c) shows a stator, and (d) shows a piston, which are housed in a torque converter outer shell (e). Therefore, the front cover (f) rotates with the power from the engine, and the pump impeller (a) integrated with the front cover (f) rotates. As a result, the turbine runner (rotor) is mediated by the working fluid. ) Turns.
[0005]
A shaft (not shown) is fitted in the turbine hub (g) of the turbine runner (b), and the rotation of the turbine runner (b) can be transmitted to a transmission (not shown). Since the torque converter is a kind of fluid clutch, when the rotation speed of the pump impeller (a) is low, the rotation of the turbine runner (ro) can be stopped (the car can be stopped), but the pump As the rotational speed of the impeller (b) increases, the turbine runner (b) starts to rotate, and as the speed further increases, the speed of the turbine runner (b) approaches the rotational speed of the pump impeller (b). However, in the torque converter using the working fluid as a medium, the rotational speed of the turbine runner (b) cannot be the same as that of the pump impeller (b).
[0006]
Therefore, as shown in the figure, a piston (d) is provided in the torque converter outer shell (e), and when the rotational speed of the turbine runner (b) exceeds a predetermined region, The piston (d) can be operated to move in the axial direction and engage with the front cover (f). Since a friction material (h) is attached to the outer periphery of the piston, the piston (d) can rotate at the same speed as the front cover (f) without slipping. The piston (d) is connected to the turbine runner (b), and the turbine runner (b) is rotated by the piston (d), so that the power from the engine is lost to the transmission through the fluid. Can be transmitted with high efficiency of almost 100%.
[0007]
In this way, when the rotational speed of the turbine runner (b) increases and a certain condition is reached, the piston (d) engages with the front cover (f) and the turbine runner ( B) can be directly rotated. However, before the engagement, the rotational speeds of the turbine runner (b) and front cover (f) are not completely the same. appear. In order to alleviate the impact at the time of engagement, and to prevent transmission of engine torque fluctuations after engagement, damper springs (re), (re), etc. are provided between the piston (d) and the turbine runner (b). The provided lockup damper (nu) is attached.
[0008]
Therefore, when the piston (d) rotating at the same speed as the turbine runner (b) is engaged with the slightly faster front cover (f), the speed of the piston (d) increases momentarily and the turbine runner ( (B) Torque to rotate faster is applied. The damper springs (Li), (Li), etc. are configured to absorb and compress this impact torque. The piston (d) is coaxially attached to the turbine hub (g) of the turbine runner (b), but the piston runner (b) is positioned with the turbine runner (b) by the compression deformation of the damper springs It has a structure capable of producing a phase difference.
[0009]
A lock-up damper (nu) provided with damper springs (re), (re) ... has a plurality of damper plates (le), (le) ... fixed to the piston (d). The damper springs (re), (re), etc. are fitted and attached to the housing grooves formed on the outer periphery of (le), (le),. By the way, since the piston (d) is provided with the damper plates (le), (le), and the damper springs (re), (re), as described above, the mass balance is even with respect to the center. Instead, you have to install a balance piece.
[0010]
If the lockup damper (n) rotates at high speed in an unbalanced state, a muffled noise or sometimes vibration will occur. Therefore, a balance piece is fixed at an appropriate position of the damper plate (le) fixed to the piston (d) to balance the lock-up damper (n).
[0011]
As a means for fixing the balance piece to the damper plate (le), a caulking method is generally adopted, but the mounting structure becomes complicated and the production of the damper plate becomes troublesome. That is, as shown in FIG. 5, when the balance piece is attached to the damper plate (le) fixed facing the piston (d), the balance piece must be mounted on the damper plate surface. .
[0012]
For this reason, the balance piece mounting structure of the damper plate (le) becomes complicated, and there is a risk that the fixed balance piece may be detached with high-speed rotation of the lockup damper. The simplest mounting structure is a caulmel method in which a hole is passed through a damper plate (le) and a balance piece is fitted into the hole. However, in order to fit the balance piece through the hole in the damper plate (le), it is necessary to provide a gap with the piston. However, if a gap is formed between the piston and the piston, the damper plate (le) may be deformed when the balance piece fitted in the hole is caulked, and the function as a lock-up damper may be impaired.
[0013]
Fig. 6 shows a case where a clearance (e) is provided between the piston (d) and the damper plate (le), and the balance piece (f) is inserted into a hole penetrating the damper plate (le) to press the head. Is shown. At this time, there is nothing to support the damper plate (le), and the area around the hole is deformed.
[0014]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, when the gap is formed between the piston and the damper plate and the balance piece is fitted into the hole penetrating the damper play and caulked, there are problems as described above. The problem to be solved by the present invention is this problem, and provides a fluid transmission device in which a balance piece is attached with a simple structure without the damper plate being deformed during the caulking process.
[0015]
[Means for solving the problems]
In the present invention, the damper plate is not deformed even if the balance piece is crimped. The balance piece has a base portion and a head portion, and has a shaft portion with a reduced outer shape between the base portion and the head portion. One damper plate is provided with large and small continuous holes, that is, a large hole and a small hole are continuously provided, and the large hole is sized so that the base portion can be fitted, and the small hole is smaller than the outer shape of the base portion. Therefore, the base is inserted from the large hole, and in this state, the base is slid to the small hole so as not to come off.
[0016]
Here, the thickness of the base portion is a dimension corresponding to the gap between the piston and the plate. In this state, when the head is pressed and caulked, the shaft portion is fixed so that the plate is compressed and sandwiched. . However, since the periphery of the hole of the damper plate is supported by the base, the damper plate is not deformed. Hereinafter, embodiments according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

In the fluid transmission device according to the present invention , the balance piece mounting structure is such that the balance piece including the base portion, the head portion, and the shaft portion is fitted into the hole, and the large hole and the small hole are attached to the damper plate. Formed and caulked with small holes. The crimped balance piece does not come out of the hole. Further, since the small hole is located outward with respect to the large hole, even if the damper plate rotates at a high speed, it does not loosen or come off due to centrifugal force.
[0032]
And in this invention, since it has a base larger than a small hole and has thickness equivalent to a clearance gap with a piston, it can press and crimp a head. That is, the periphery of the hole in the damper plate is not deformed even if the base is supported and the head is pressed and caulked. Accordingly, an intermediate member for interlocking the expansion and contraction movement of the damper spring can be rotatably mounted in the gap between the piston and the damper plate. In addition, the work process of passing the hole through the damper plate, fitting the balance piece into the hole, and caulking is simplified.
