BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a tensioner for maintaining the tension of a force transmission member appropriately in a power transmission mechanism using a force transmission member such as an endless belt or an endless chain.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, a force transmission member such as an endless belt or chain is used in a power transmission mechanism that transmits the rotational motion of an automobile engine to a camshaft. In order to keep the tension of the force transmission member properly, a tensioner may be employed. 14 and 15 each show a cross section of a conventional tensioner. This tensioner includes a

[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The tension of the force transmission member such as a chain and a belt changes from moment to moment depending on, for example, the operating conditions of the engine. However, since the conventional tensioner has a linear characteristic, there is a problem that it is difficult to cope with a wide range of input load changes.
[0005]
Here, the relationship between the force (thrust) by which the tensioner pushes the force transmission member and the displacement amplitude σ of the tensioner will be described. The rigidity of the tensioner can be represented by the amount of movement of the second shaft member with respect to the load received from the force transmission member (that is, the displacement amplitude σ). A tensioner having a large thrust and a high rigidity can withstand a large input load, but has a small displacement amplitude σ. Conversely, if the tensioner thrust is reduced, the displacement amplitude σ can be increased, but it cannot cope with a large input load. For example, for a large displacement engine, increasing the tensioner stiffness reduces the displacement amplitude σ. In other words, the tensioner with high rigidity has a problem that the degree of freedom in designing the tensioner is narrow, for example, the tensioner must be designed to function within a narrow range of displacement amplitude σ.
[0006]
An object of the present invention is to provide a tensioner that can cope with a wide range of changes in input load, such as being able to increase the displacement amplitude despite having high rigidity.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The tensioner of the present invention
A first shaft member rotatably inserted into the case and having a first threaded portion;
A second shaft member that has a second threaded portion that is screwed into the first threaded portion, is movable in the axial direction relative to the case, and is constrained to rotate;
A torsion spring that generates torque for rotating the first shaft member;
In accordance with an axial load input to the second shaft member via the load transmitting portion, the load transmitting portion is allowed to be displaced in the axial direction with respect to the second shaft member, or the first A buffer mechanism that allows one shaft member to be displaced in the axial direction with respect to the case; The shock-absorbing mechanism has an end member provided at the end of the second shaft member so as to be movable in the axial direction, and an elastic member provided between the end member and the second shaft member. Shi ing.
[0008]
A compression coil spring, a disc spring, a rubber member, or a liquid pressurized to a predetermined pressure can be used for the buffer mechanism. An elastic member typified by rubber or a spring can be provided on at least one of the first shaft member and the second shaft member. The elastic member may be interposed between an end member serving as a load transmitting portion provided at the tip of the second shaft member and the second shaft member.
[0009]
In the tensioner according to the present invention, for example, when a small load is input to the second shaft from a force transmission member such as a belt or a chain, the shock transmission mechanism is activated to cause the load transmission portion to move in the axial direction with respect to the second shaft. The first shaft member is displaced in the axial direction with respect to the case. Depending on the load applied to the second shaft, the first shaft member rotates via the first screw portion and the second screw portion.
[0010]
Depending on the spring constant of the buffer mechanism, for example, when the input load is small, it is possible to apply tension to the force transmission member by mainly operating the buffer mechanism. When the input load is large, the original tension action can be performed by the first shaft member and the second shaft member. As a result, it is possible to deal with a large input load, and the followability to a small displacement amplitude is also good. For example, even a force transmission member used in a large displacement engine or the like can cope with a large change in input load, and an appropriate tension can be applied to the force transmission member.
