Description
【0001】

C0=100×(NC/0.314)/[(NC/0.314)+(NSi/0.368)]
=100NC/(NC+0.853NSi)。
CSn=100×(NSn/4.890)/[(NSn/4.890)+(NSi/0.368)]
=100NSn/(NSn+13.29NSi)。

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a float glass used for a display substrate such as a plasma display panel (PDP) substrate, a field emission display (FED) substrate, and a method for manufacturing the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, PDPs, which are one type of thin flat gas discharge display panel, have attracted attention and have been energetically developed. In the PDP, cells are defined by a front glass substrate, a back glass substrate, and barrier ribs. When a plasma discharge is generated in the cell, the phosphor layer on the inner wall of the cell emits light to form an image.
[0003]
PDP glass substrates, ie, front glass substrates and rear glass substrates, float glass that is easy to increase in size and has excellent flatness and homogeneity (plate shape while fusing and transporting molten glass over molten tin) Plate-shaped glass) is used. An ITO (indium oxide doped with tin) transparent electrode is formed on the front glass substrate, and a silver paste is applied thereon by screen printing, followed by heat treatment (baking) at 550 to 600 ° C. to form a silver electrode. The The ITO transparent electrode is usually formed on the float glass surface (bottom surface) in contact with molten tin. The reason is that the bottom surface is smoother than the float glass surface (top surface) that is not in contact with molten tin.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In a conventional glass substrate made of float glass, the ITO transparent electrode of the front glass substrate is peeled off, and when the heat treatment is performed, the smoothness of the glass substrate is lowered and haze is generated.
An object of the present invention is to provide a float glass for a display substrate and a method for producing the same, which solve the above problems.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention floats and conveys molten glass on molten tin containing 100 to 5000 ppm of Fe; the glass inside the float glass not in contact with the molten tin is 45 to 70 % by weight of SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 is selected from the group consisting of 2 to 20% by weight, and one or more selected from the group consisting of MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO in a total amount of 10 to 25% by weight, Na 2 O and K 2 O In addition, the total amount of 7 to 15% by weight of each of the above-described regions is contained, while the region from the surface in contact with the molten tin to the depth of 0.2 μm contains Fe, and the Fe / Si mole in the region A display substrate float glass having an average value of 0.001 to 1 is formed into a plate shape ; a method for producing a display substrate float glass is provided.
Moreover, this invention provides the float glass for display substrates manufactured with this manufacturing method.
[0006]
The present inventors, to peeling ITO transparent electrode of the front glass substrate is because the contamination of the hydrocarbon is attached (adsorbed) on the front glass substrate surface before the ITO transparent electrode forming, a SiO 2 45 70 wt%, Al 2 O 3 2-20 wt%, one or more selected from the group consisting of MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO in a total amount of 10-25 wt%, Na 2 O and K 2 O In float glass containing a total amount of one or more selected from the group consisting of 7 to 15% by weight, Fe concentration in the bottom surface layer (region from the surface in contact with molten tin to a depth of 0.2 μm) As a result, it was found that the adhesion is less likely to occur with an increase in the thickness of the present invention, leading to the present invention. The inventor considers the mechanism as follows.
[0007]
The essential factor governing the adhesion of the dirt is considered to be the Sn concentration of the bottom outermost surface layer (region from the surface in contact with molten tin to a depth of about 2 nm). In the process of cooling the glass sheet formed into a plate shape while fusing and transporting the molten glass on the molten tin to the room temperature, Sn existing in the deeper region of the bottom surface layer than the bottom outermost surface layer is the bottom outermost surface. As a result, it is considered that the Sn concentration of the bottom outermost surface layer is increased and dirt is easily attached.
However, in the present invention, it is considered that the Fe concentration in the bottom surface layer is high, so that the diffusion of Sn into the bottom outermost surface layer is suppressed.
[0008]
Moreover, it is considered that the smoothness of the bottom surface is lowered by the heat treatment because Sn diffused in the float glass moves to the bottom surface layer by the heat treatment and the Sn concentration of the bottom surface layer increases.
The present inventor has found that when the Fe concentration in the bottom surface layer is increased, the movement of Sn to the bottom surface layer during heat treatment is suppressed, and as a result, the bottom surface smoothness degradation that occurs during heat treatment can be suppressed. It came.
[0009]

By secondary ion mass spectrometry, the 54 Fe + secondary ion intensity and 45 SiO + secondary ion intensity in the region from the bottom surface to a depth of 0.2 μm were measured, and the secondary ion intensity ratio ( 54 Fe + / 45 A depth profile of SiO + ) is obtained. The ( 54 Fe + / 45 SiO + ) secondary ion intensity ratio is converted into a (Fe / Si) molar ratio using a calibration curve prepared by measuring a standard glass sample with a known Fe concentration. From the depth direction profile of this (Fe / Si) molar ratio, the average value (average value in the depth direction) of the (Fe / Si) molar ratio of the bottom surface layer is calculated.
[0023]
This inventor performed the said measurement using the 6500 type | mold secondary ion mass spectrometer by Atomica. 8 keV, 50 nA O 2 + was used as the primary ion beam, and irradiation was performed at an incident angle of 60 ° with respect to the normal surface of the sample. The irradiation area of the primary ion beam is an area of 150 μm × 150 μm on the sample surface, and secondary ions emitted from 50% of the central part were detected. The sputter etching rate at this time was 30 nm / min, and the product of the sputter etching time and the sputter etching rate was the depth from the bottom surface.

Glass inner not in contact with the molten tin, a SiO 2 45 to 70 wt%, the Al 2 O 3 2 to 20 wt%, MgO, CaO, one or more selected from the group consisting of SrO and BaO In the float glass containing 10 to 25% by weight in total and one or more selected from the group consisting of Na 2 O and K 2 O in a total amount of 7 to 15% by weight, respectively, Fe / Si of the bottom surface layer If the average value of the molar ratio is less than 0.001, the effect of reducing the Sn concentration of the bottom outermost surface layer and / or the effect of suppressing the movement of Sn to the bottom surface layer during heat treatment is too small. Preferably it is 0.002 or more. If it exceeds 1, the visible light transmittance is too small. Preferably it is 0.005 or less, More preferably, it is 0.004 or less.
[0025]
In the method for producing a float glass for a display substrate according to the present invention, Fe is contained in molten tin to increase the Fe concentration in the bottom surface layer. If the Fe content of the molten tin is less than 100 ppm, the amount of Fe entering the bottom surface layer is small, and the effect of increasing the Fe concentration is too small. Preferably it is 200 ppm or more. If it exceeds 5000 ppm, the tin adhesion defects on the bottom surface increase. Preferably it is 500 ppm or less, More preferably, it is 400 ppm or less.
The float glass of this invention can be manufactured with the manufacturing method of the float glass for display substrates of above-described this invention.
[0026]
【Example】
Composition by weight% is SiO 2 : 59.0, Al 2 O 3 : 7.1, CaO: 5.1, SrO: 7.1, BaO: 8.1, ZrO 2 : 3.1, Na 2 The raw materials were prepared and mixed so that O: 4.4 and K 2 O: 6.1, and were melted in a glass melting furnace to obtain molten glass. The molten glass was allowed to flow into a float bath and molded into a plate shape while being floated and conveyed over molten tin having different Fe contents, thereby obtaining the float glasses of Examples 1 to 4 having a thickness of 2.8 mm. The Fe content (unit: ppm) of the molten tin is shown in the table.
[0027]
About this float glass, Fe / Si molar ratio average value (surface layer), Fe / Si molar ratio average value (internal), carbon relative concentration (unit:%), tin relative concentration (unit:%), and tin relative concentration average The value (unit:%) was measured. The results are shown in the table.
[0028]
The Fe / Si molar ratio average value (surface layer) is the average value of the Fe / Si molar ratio of the bottom surface layer. The Fe / Si molar ratio average value (internal) is the average value of the Fe / Si molar ratio in the region from the depth of 0.2 μm to the depth of 10 μm from the bottom surface, and the Fe / Si molar ratio average value (surface layer) ) Was measured by the same method as in the above.
[0029]
The relative carbon concentration and the relative tin concentration were measured as follows.
A photoelectron spectrum corresponding to the C 1s orbital, Sn 3d5 / 2 orbital and Si 2p orbital is measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy on the bottom surface. The background is removed from the photoelectron spectrum, and the areas of photoelectron peaks corresponding to the C 1s orbital, Sn 3d5 / 2 orbital, and Si 2p orbital are obtained, and these are respectively calculated as the number of photoelectrons per unit time derived from the C 1s orbital. N C , the number of photoelectrons per unit time derived from Sn 3d5 / 2 orbital N Sn , and the number of photoelectrons per unit time derived from Si 2p orbital N Si . The background is removed using the same function for the photoelectron peaks corresponding to the C 1s orbital, Sn 3d5 / 2 orbital and Si 2p orbital.
[0030]
The carbon relative concentration C C is calculated by the following formula using N C and N Si .
C 0 = 100 × (N C /0.314)/[(N C /0.314)+(N Si /0.368)]
= 100N C / (N C + 0.853N Si).
Here, 0.314 and 0.368 are relative sensitivity coefficients for C and Si, respectively.
The relative carbon concentration is considered to represent the ratio of the concentration of C and Si existing in the bottom outermost surface layer.
[0031]
The tin relative concentration C Sn is calculated by the following formula using N Sn and N Si .
C Sn = 100 × (N Sn /4.890)/[(N Sn /4.890)+(N Si = 0.368)]
= 100N Sn / (N Sn + 13.29N Si ).
Here, 4.890 and 0.368 are relative sensitivity coefficients for Sn and Si, respectively.
The tin relative concentration is considered to represent the ratio of the concentration of Sn and Si present in the bottom outermost surface layer.
[0032]
The inventor measured the relative carbon concentration and the relative tin concentration using a Quantum 2000 X-ray photoelectron spectrometer manufactured by PHI. In this apparatus, the sample is irradiated with 15 kV, 20 W AlKα rays that are monochromatic with an X-ray monochromator. Further, photoelectrons emitted from the sample are detected on a sample surface region having a diameter of 100 μm under the condition that the detection angle with respect to the sample surface is 45 °.
[0033]
The average value of tin relative concentration was measured as follows.
Sputter etching is performed for 0.5 minutes using a 1 keV Ar ion beam in a 2 mm × 2 mm region on the bottom surface. The etching depth by this sputter etching is about 1.5 nm. Next, the new surface tin relative concentration is measured for the new surface that appears by sputter etching in the same manner as the measurement of the tin relative concentration. This sputter etching was repeated to measure the new surface tin relative concentration from the bottom surface to a depth of 50 nm, and this average value was defined as the tin relative concentration average value.
[0034]
A 5 cm × 5 cm glass plate was cut out from the float glass of Examples 1 to 4, and used as a glass substrate. An ITO transparent electrode was formed on the bottom surface of the glass substrate by a sputtering method, and the ITO transparent electrode adhesion was evaluated. In addition, the glass substrate was heat-treated at 750 ° C. for 15 minutes in an air atmosphere. About the glass substrate after this heat processing, the tin relative density | concentration average value was measured and smoothness was evaluated. The above results are shown in the table.
[0035]
The smoothness was evaluated by visual observation, and the case where no haze was observed was indicated by ○, and the case where haze was observed was indicated by ×.
The ITO transparent electrode adhesion is performed by a tape test in which the cellophane adhesive tape manufactured by Nichiban Co., Ltd. is bonded to the ITO transparent electrode and then peeled off. Those which were almost completely peeled off were indicated by x.
[0036]
[Table 1]
[0037]
Examples 1 to 3 are examples, and example 4 is a comparative example.
The carbon relative concentration is an index of the adsorptivity of the bottom surface, and the larger this value is, the more dirty the bottom surface is. In fact, the evaluation of the ITO transparent electrode adhesion of Example 4 having a large relative carbon concentration is low.
Moreover, the tin relative density | concentration average value (after heat processing) of Example 4 is large compared with Examples 1-3, As a result, evaluation of smoothness is low.
[0038]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a float glass for a display substrate in which the ITO transparent electrode is not peeled off, and smoothness is not lowered and haze is not generated even when heat treatment is performed.
