Description
1)基本サービスセット(BSS:Basic Service Set)内から端末局(STA:STAtion)がパケットを送信したときは、常にチャンネルが使用中であるとアクセスポイント(AP:Access Point)が検知する場合。
2)隣接しているBSS内の装置からのパケット伝送のために、APが持っているパケットの送信先であるSTAが、チャンネルが使用中であると検知したときには常に、そのAPもまたチャンネルが使用中であると検知する場合。この条件を満足させることにより、APは外部のパケットを優先(defer)させ、伝送エラーを引き起こす。
3)隣接しているBSS内の装置がそのチャンネルを使用していても、APが持っているパケットの送信先であるSTAが、チャンネルが空いていると検知したときは常に、そのAPはチャンネルが空いていると検知する場合。この条件を満足させることにより、不要な待機(deferral)は回避される。
1)APが、そのBSSの通信可能領域内のすべてのSTAからのパケットを受信する能力がある場合。EDTパラメータがあまりに高く設定されると、セル端に位置するSTAにより送信されたパケットをAPが受信できない場合がある。
2)隣接しているBSS内の装置からのパケットをAPが検知しない場合。EDTパラメータがあまりに低く設定されると、そのBSSの外に位置しているSTAにより送信されたか、または他のAPにより送信されたパケットに対してAPで「搬送波が固定化(carrier lock)」する場合がある。外部の伝送に対して「固定化(locking)」が発生すると、APは自身のBSS内のSTAからのいずれの伝送をも取り逃がすであろう。そのようなシナリオでは、自身のBSS内のSTAからのパケットが、APが受信している外部のパケットと衝突するであろうため、パケット誤りがもたらされるであろう。
EDT最適化処理100は以下の条件のいずれかにより起動される:
1.PERTx>PERMax Txで、かつEDTの最終更新以来少なくともNTx個のパケットを送信済み。
2.PERRx>PERMax Rxで、かつEDTの最終更新以来少なくともNRx個のパケットを受信済み。
3.周期的起動タイマの満了、すなわちTElapsed>TPeriodic、かつEDTの最終更新以来、少なくともNTx個のパケットを送信済み、かつNRx個のパケットを受信済み。TElapsedは、EDTの最終更新以来の経過時間である。
最適化処理100は、EDTパラメータに対する上下の限界を決定することにより開始される(ステップ102)。EDTパラメータについての上限(EDTMAX)は以下の通り決定される:

Claims (14)
- アクセスポイント(AP)および少なくとも1つの端末局を有する無線LANにおいて空きチャンネル判定(CCA)パラメータを最適化する方法であって、
起動条件を受信することと、
エネルギー検出閾値(EDT)パラメータに対する上限および下限を決定することと、
該EDTパラメータの値を計算することであって、該計算することがEDT送信値およびEDT受信値を計算することを含む、ことと、
該EDTパラメータを該上限および該下限により制限することと、
該EDTパラメータを更新することと、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 送信パケット誤り率が目標最大送信パケット誤り率を超え、かつ最小の数のパケットが送信されたときに、前記起動条件が存在すること、を特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 受信パケット誤り率が目標最大受信パケット誤り率を超え、かつ最小の数のパケットが受信されたときに、前記起動条件が存在すること、を特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 最小の時間期間が経過し、最小の数のパケットが送信され、かつ最小の数のパケットが受信されたとき、前記起動条件が存在すること、を特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記下限が前記アクセスポイントの受信機感度レベルと等しいこと、を特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記EDT受信値が、前記アクセスポイントの基本通信範囲に等しいこと、を特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記方法がそれぞれの端末局で実行されること、を特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記方法が前記アクセスポイントにて実行されること、かつ前記更新されたEDTパラメータが該アクセスポイントに関連付けられたそれぞれの端末局に通信されること、を特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記更新されたEDTパラメータが、前記アクセスポイントに関連付けられたそれぞれの端末局に個別に通信されること、を特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記更新されたEDTパラメータが、前記アクセスポイントに関連付けられたすべての端末局に同時に同報されること、を特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
