Description
The present invention relates to a technique for diagnosing a secondary battery capable of repeating charging and discharging cycles, and a technique for collecting information useful for diagnosis of the secondary battery.
Secondary batteries have the property that internal resistance rapidly advances as deterioration progresses, and a device has been developed to measure whether internal deterioration has progressed by measuring internal resistance and comparing it with a reference value. . The charge / discharge capacity of the secondary battery also has a characteristic of rapidly decreasing as the deterioration progresses, and an apparatus for measuring whether the deterioration has progressed by measuring the charge / discharge capacity has been developed. A technology has also been developed in which a function for counting the number of times of charging is added to the charging device, and when the battery that has been charged a predetermined number of times is charged, the fact that the progress of deterioration has progressed by notifying that effect. When counting the number of times of charging with a charging device, two or more batteries may be charged with the same charging device. Therefore, a technique is known in which an ID is assigned to a battery and the number of times of charging is counted for each battery. Yes.
Patent Documents 1 to 3 disclose the above diagnostic device.
The above-described battery diagnostic device can only diagnose the result of whether or not the battery has deteriorated. Secondary batteries have the property of deteriorating when used, and aging itself is unavoidable. However, depending on how the battery is used, it may deteriorate rapidly compared to the amount used. If overdischarge is repeated, the battery will deteriorate rapidly. If the battery is charged too fast, the battery temperature will be overheated and the battery will deteriorate rapidly. The conventional technology can only diagnose the result of whether or not the battery has deteriorated, and is the result of normal deterioration and cannot be avoided. It is not possible to obtain useful information for judging whether the product has deteriorated. If useful information is not available to determine whether it has deteriorated normally or abnormally, it is necessary to improve the method of use or improve the method of use to extend the lifespan. It is difficult to objectively determine whether there is any other way to replace the battery. Battery users tend to argue that if the battery deteriorates, the quality of the battery has been compromised, and if they do n’t have useful information to determine if it ’s normal or abnormal, It can be said that there was a problem with the quality up to a normal battery, which would hinder the healthy growth of the battery industry.
The present invention provides a technique for determining and diagnosing whether the deterioration of a secondary battery is normal deterioration or abnormal deterioration. In addition, an information collecting apparatus capable of obtaining useful information for that purpose is provided.
One battery diagnostic device embodied by the present invention is a device for determining whether the deterioration of the secondary battery is normal deterioration or abnormal deterioration, a device for measuring a deterioration index of the secondary battery, and a secondary battery Compare the amount of usage when the measured degradation index exceeds the degradation reference value with the usage reference amount, and if the usage amount is greater than the usage reference amount, it is determined as normal deterioration. In addition, when the usage amount is smaller than the usage reference amount, a device for determining that the deterioration is abnormal is provided.
Here, the deterioration index exceeding the deterioration reference value means that the deterioration index falls below the deterioration reference value when the deterioration reference value defines the lower limit value of the deterioration index. Further, when the deterioration reference value defines the upper limit value of the deterioration index, it means that the deterioration index exceeds the deterioration reference value.
It is possible to determine whether or not the secondary battery has deteriorated by measuring the deterioration index that progresses with the deterioration of the secondary battery and comparing it with the deterioration reference value. Up to here, it is the same as the conventional diagnostic technique, and various deterioration indexes can be adopted.
In this apparatus, the usage amount of the secondary battery is further grasped, and the usage amount when it is determined that the secondary battery has deteriorated is compared with the usage reference amount. The use reference amount is a use amount that the deterioration index is expected to exceed the deterioration reference value when a normal secondary battery is normally used. If the secondary battery deteriorates with a usage amount less than the reference usage amount and is determined to be abnormally deteriorated, you can know that there was a problem with the usage method of the secondary battery and review the usage method. Thus, unnecessary consumption of a new secondary battery can be avoided. What der which the secondary battery is it even deteriorated deteriorated from beyond the use reference amount, Nodea lever is determined to be normal deterioration, there is no problem with the quality of the secondary battery, usage, etc. It is possible to know that the battery has been used normally and has deteriorated normally.
By diagnosing the secondary battery deteriorated by this device, it is possible to know whether the battery has been normally deteriorated or abnormally deteriorated, and it is possible to take necessary measures.
The present invention can be used not only to determine whether a deteriorated secondary battery is normally deteriorated or abnormally deteriorated, but also whether the battery currently used is normally deteriorated or abnormally deteriorated. It can also be used to determine whether or not. That is, it is possible to determine whether the deterioration is progressing normally or abnormally.
If this can be done, it is possible to know whether the usage method can be continued as it is, or if the usage method is not improved, it will deteriorate abnormally in the short term.
The battery diagnostic device of the present invention developed for this purpose is a device that measures the degradation index of the secondary battery, a device that grasps the usage amount of the secondary battery, and a two-dimensional map of the degradation index and usage amount. The device that stores the reference deterioration map that distinguishes the time range and the abnormal deterioration range, and the measured deterioration index and the used amount are the normal deterioration range and abnormal deterioration range of the reference deterioration map. The device which discriminate | determines which is in is provided.
According to the research of the present inventor, when the value of the pair of the measured degradation index and the grasped usage amount is plotted on the two-dimensional map of the degradation index and the usage amount, when a normal secondary battery is normally used It was confirmed that it was within the predetermined range. On the other hand, when the secondary battery is used in an inappropriate usage method, it was confirmed that the value of the pair of deterioration index and usage amount is plotted in a range different from the above range.
In this apparatus, the deterioration index and usage amount of the secondary battery are detected as a pair, and it is determined whether the value of the pair is in the normal deterioration range or the abnormal deterioration range. This makes it possible to determine whether the secondary battery in use has deteriorated normally or abnormally. If the secondary battery is abnormally deteriorated, it is possible to avoid unnecessary deterioration of the secondary battery, for example, by improving the usage of the secondary battery.
By diagnosing the secondary battery with this device, it is possible to know whether the deterioration of the secondary battery in use is proceeding normally or abnormally, and it is possible to take necessary measures Become.
In the above diagnostic apparatus, it is preferable to use either the internal resistance or the charge / discharge capacity as a deterioration index. Moreover, it is preferable that any one of the cumulative discharge time, the cumulative charge time, the cumulative discharge power amount, the cumulative charge power amount, and the cumulative charge frequency is used.
Since the internal resistance of the secondary battery increases following the progress of deterioration of the secondary battery, it can be used as a suitable deterioration index. Since the charge / discharge capacity of the secondary battery also decreases following the progress of deterioration of the secondary battery, it can be used as a suitable deterioration index.
Further, the secondary battery deteriorates following the cumulative discharge time, the cumulative charge time, the cumulative discharge power amount, the cumulative charge power amount, and the cumulative number of times of charging. The usage amount can be determined by the cumulative discharge time, the cumulative charge time, the cumulative discharge power amount, the cumulative charge power amount, and the cumulative charge count.
Accurately diagnose secondary batteries by measuring the progress of deterioration based on internal resistance and charge / discharge capacity, and measuring usage based on cumulative discharge time, cumulative charge time, cumulative discharge power amount, cumulative charge power amount and cumulative charge count. be able to. The deterioration index and the amount to be actually used may be selected from the above according to the usage environment of the secondary battery.
The usage amount may be any one of the cumulative discharge time, the cumulative charge time, the cumulative discharge power amount, the cumulative charge power amount, and the cumulative charge frequency corrected based on the frequency of overdischarge and / or rapid charge. preferable.
The secondary battery is further deteriorated when it is overdischarged or rapidly charged. Therefore, it is preferable to evaluate that a secondary battery having a high occurrence frequency of overdischarge or quick charge is used more than the actual usage amount. Thereby, a secondary battery can be diagnosed more accurately.
Secondary batteries are used in various environments. Some users repeat rapid charging, while others are less frequently used. Some users continue the light load work for a long time, while other users repeat the heavy load work intermittently. Some users repeat overdischarge using the battery until the very end.
There should be appropriate usage for each work environment, but it is not easy to know. There are many things that cannot be understood unless many cases are collected and examined. It is necessary to accumulate a lot of diagnostic information and further accumulate knowledge for diagnosis.
In response to the above demand, the present invention provides a diagnostic information collection device for a secondary battery. This diagnostic information collection device is a device that collects diagnostic information obtained by diagnosing a secondary battery, and accumulates diagnostic information with a plurality of terminal diagnostic device groups that diagnose secondary batteries and obtain diagnostic information. And a communication means for connecting the terminal diagnosis apparatus group and the information accumulation apparatus via a computer network.
Each terminal diagnostic apparatus can comprise a battery diagnosis equipment which was created by the present invention. The communication means transmits diagnostic information acquired by the terminal diagnostic device group to the information accumulation device.
In this diagnostic information collection device, the secondary battery diagnostic information acquired by the battery diagnostic device is transmitted to the information integration device via the computer network, and the secondary battery diagnostic information is accumulated and stored in the information integration device. A large amount of diagnostic information is accumulated in the information accumulation device, and diagnostic information of secondary batteries used in various environments is accumulated. By analyzing the diagnostic information stored in the information accumulation device, knowledge for appropriately diagnosing the secondary battery can be further developed.
The amount of usage and the index of deterioration index necessary to determine the deterioration state of the secondary battery shall be calculated from the calculation formula based on the specifications of the secondary battery and the expected usage method, actual test results, etc. Can do. However, it is extremely difficult to accurately reflect many factors related to deterioration in the calculation formula. Even when the standard is determined based on actual test results, the number of samples obtained is limited, and an estimated value can only be obtained with the limited number of samples. There is a need for a technique for more accurately determining the deterioration state of a secondary battery.
The above problem is to extract the relationship between the usage amount and the deterioration index from the diagnostic information accumulated and stored in the information accumulating device of the diagnostic information collecting device provided by the present invention, the deterioration reference value, the use reference amount, the normal deterioration range, It is solved by adding a discriminating criterion calculating means for calculating at least one discrimination criterion of abnormal deterioration during range.
The diagnostic information stored in the information accumulation device is composed of diagnostic information of secondary batteries in various environments. By extracting the relationship between the usage amount and the deterioration index from a large number of accumulated diagnostic information, it is possible to more accurately calculate the criteria such as the usage amount and the deterioration index for determining the deterioration state of the secondary battery. it can.
The communication device transmits the discrimination criterion calculated by the discrimination criterion calculation means to the terminal diagnostic device group. The terminal diagnostic device group can obtain a more accurate determination criterion, and the terminal diagnostic device group can more accurately determine the deterioration state of the secondary battery.
According to the present invention, it is possible to determine and diagnose whether the deterioration of the secondary battery is normal deterioration or abnormal deterioration.

As shown in FIG. 6, the control circuit of the

As shown in FIG. 8, the
A secondary battery that has not deteriorated has a large charge / discharge capacity and a low internal resistance. On the other hand, the secondary battery that has deteriorated has a reduced charge / discharge capacity and an increased internal resistance. On the other hand, in the

As shown in FIG. 8, for example, when the detected charge / discharge capacity is Q1 and the detected internal resistance is R1, it is determined that the group of
