Description
The present invention relates to a developing cartridge that is detachably attached to an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine or a printer, and an image forming apparatus including the developing cartridge.
As an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine or a printer, a type using a developing cartridge (developing apparatus formed in a cartridge) is known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
Such an image forming apparatus includes an insertion port into which a developing cartridge is inserted, an openable / closable cover that covers the insertion port, a guide rail that guides the developing cartridge inserted from the insertion port to a predetermined developing position, and the like.
To install the developing cartridge in the image forming apparatus, the cover is opened to expose the insertion slot, the developing cartridge is inserted from the exposed insertion slot, and the inserted developing cartridge is slid along the guide rail to a predetermined development position. It is done by letting
To smoothly perform the operation of sliding the developing cartridge along the guide rail to the predetermined developing position and the operation of sliding the developing cartridge toward the insertion port along the guide rail in order to remove the developing cartridge located at the predetermined developing position. In this case, it is desirable that the guide rail for guiding the developing cartridge be continuously formed between the insertion port and a predetermined developing position.
By the way, the toner cartridge is detachably attached to the developing cartridge, and the period during which the toner in the toner cartridge is consumed is shorter than the life of the developing cartridge. For this reason, when the toner in the toner cartridge is consumed and lost, only the toner cartridge is replaced. As one mode of replacing the toner cartridge, there is known a mode in which the developing cartridge is temporarily detached from the apparatus main body and the toner cartridge is replaced outside the apparatus main body.
An image forming apparatus is also known in which the toner cartridge can be replaced without removing the developing cartridge from the main body of the apparatus in order to facilitate replacement of the toner cartridge. In such an image forming apparatus, the guide rail is divided into a plurality of parts along the longitudinal direction (demounting direction of the developing cartridge), and a part of the divided guide rails is a toner in the developing cartridge mounted in the apparatus main body. It is attached to an outer plate that can be opened and closed opposite the position where the cartridge is attached. When the outer surface plate is rotated to the open position, a part of the guide rail is also rotated integrally, and the toner cartridge attached to the developing cartridge is exposed. Thus, it is not necessary to remove the developing cartridge from the apparatus main body when replacing the toner cartridge, and the toner cartridge can be easily replaced.
However, when the guide rail is divided at a position along the longitudinal direction of the guide rail, a step is likely to occur at the divided portion of the guide rail. If there is a step in the divided part of the guide rail, when the developer cartridge is slid along the guide rail, the developer cartridge is caught on the step part of the guide rail, and the developing cartridge cannot be smoothly slid. .
In order to prevent a step from occurring in the divided portion of the guide rail, it is necessary to significantly improve the dimensional accuracy of the guide rail, the assembly accuracy of the guide rail, and the like, which increases the cost.
The object of the present invention is to allow the developer cartridge to be slid without improving the dimensional accuracy and assembly accuracy of the guide rail even when the guide rail for slidably guiding the developer cartridge is divided along the slide direction. It is to be able to do smoothly.
The invention of claim 1, wherein, in the current image the cartridge that will be detachably attached to the image forming apparatus main body, a toner cartridge in which the removably mounted to the developing cartridge, the center line in the mounting direction front side of the developing cartridge A developing roller rotatably provided around the roller shaft, and guides provided at both ends of the roller shaft of the developing roller so as to be rotatable around a center line of the roller shaft and provided in the device main body when being attached to and detached from the device main body. A guided portion that is slidably guided along a rail, and the guided portion is located on a small diameter portion that is engaged with a guide groove of the guide rail and an outer periphery that surrounds the small diameter portion. A flange portion facing the opening-side end surface of the guide groove, and a chamfered portion is formed on the outer peripheral side peripheral portion of the flange portion.
Therefore, this developing cartridge is divided into a plurality of guide rails provided in the apparatus main body along the longitudinal direction which is the attaching / detaching direction of the developing cartridge, and a part of the divided guide rails is mounted in the apparatus main body. When attaching to and detaching from the image forming apparatus attached to the outer plate that can be opened and closed opposite to the position where the toner cartridge is attached in the developing cartridge, when the guided portion advances while being guided by the guide rail, a plurality of When a step is generated at the boundary portion of the divided guide rail, the step portion contacts the chamfered portion of the flange portion. By this contact, the guide rail or the developing cartridge attached to the outer surface plate that can be opened and closed moves so that the contact portion moves along the chamfered portion, and this movement may cause the guided portion to get over the step. Thus, the sliding operation is smoothly performed when the developing cartridge is attached to and detached from the apparatus main body.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the developing cartridge according to the first aspect, the small-diameter portion has an opening that exposes the end surface of the roller shaft to the outside and protrudes outward from the end surface of the roller shaft. A chamfered portion is formed on the outer peripheral side edge portion and the inner peripheral side edge portion of the small diameter portion formed in a boss shape.
Therefore, when a bias voltage is applied to the developing roller from an electrical contact provided in the apparatus main body, the electrical contact is made elastic, and the developer cartridge is slid to a predetermined development position. Sometimes, the chamfered portion between the outer peripheral side edge and the inner peripheral side edge of the small-diameter portion where the electrical contact is formed in a boss shape with the mounting and dismounting operation of the developing cartridge by positioning so as to contact the end surface of the roller shaft Over the end of the roller shaft. Thereby, the contact between the roller shaft and the electrical contact of the apparatus main body is smoothly performed.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided an image forming apparatus using the developing cartridge according to the first or second aspect, and toner provided in the apparatus main body and supplied by the developing cartridge attached to the apparatus main body. A printer engine that performs the formation; and a guide rail that is provided in the apparatus main body and that slidably guides the developing cartridge that is attached to and detached from the apparatus main body. And a part of the divided guide rails can be opened and closed facing the position where the toner cartridge is mounted in the developing cartridge mounted in the apparatus main body. It is attached to the outer plate.
Therefore, in this image forming apparatus, since the developing cartridge according to claim 1 or 2 is used, even when the guide rail for slidably guiding the developing cartridge is divided into a plurality of parts, the image forming apparatus is provided along the guide rail. The operation of sliding the developing cartridge to attach or detach can be performed smoothly. Further, since the mounting and dismounting operation of the developing cartridge can be performed smoothly, the positioning accuracy of the developing cartridge at the mounting position can be improved.
According to the developing cartridge of the first aspect of the present invention, even when the guide rail of the image forming apparatus to which the developing cartridge is attached / detached is divided along the longitudinal direction, a step is generated between the adjacent guide rails. It can be smoothly attached and detached without being affected by.
According to the developing cartridge of the second aspect of the present invention, the roller shaft and the electrical contact of the apparatus main body can be smoothly brought into and out of contact with the operation of attaching and detaching the developing cartridge to the apparatus main body.
According to the image forming apparatus of the third aspect of the present invention, even when the guide rail for sliding the developing cartridge is divided into a plurality along the sliding direction, the developing cartridge is adjacent to the apparatus main body when it is attached to and detached from the apparatus main body. The developing cartridge can be smoothly slid without being affected by the step generated between the guide rails.
An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a longitudinal side view schematically showing the entire structure of a color laser printer (hereinafter referred to as “printer”) as an image forming apparatus, FIG. 2 is a side view showing the appearance of the printer, and FIG. FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing a guided portion, and FIG. 5 is a plan view showing an open / close state of an outer plate and a part of guide rails.
A printer engine 3 is provided at a substantially central portion of the apparatus main body 2 of the printer 1. The printer engine 3 includes a photosensitive belt 4 wound around a plurality of support rollers, a

The electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive belt 4 is developed for each color by the toner in each developing
Each developing
At the contact portion between the photosensitive belt 4 and the intermediate transfer belt 8, the toner image on the photosensitive belt 4 is transferred onto the intermediate transfer belt 8 by applying a charge having a polarity opposite to that of the toner to the intermediate transfer belt 8. The By performing the toner image formation and transfer operation for each color, a four-color color toner image is formed on the intermediate transfer belt 8. The color toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 8 is transferred by the
Next, the structure of the developing
The developing
Of the divided
A toner cartridge 24 containing toner is detachably attached to each developing
A developing
In the apparatus main body 2, as a mechanism for rotating the developing
The guided
Of the guided
The small-diameter portion 32 in at least one guided
The guided
In such a configuration, when the developing
When such a step occurs, when no measures are taken in the guided
However, as described in the present embodiment, the stepped portion comes into contact with the chamfered
As an example of a specific operation, when the developing
In addition, when a vertical step is generated between the divided
When the developing
