Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a connection aid used when connecting an end of an optical fiber to an electronic device or the like.
[0002]
[Prior art]
When simultaneously connecting the ends of a pair of optical fibers to an electronic device such as a photoelectric sensor, it is extremely difficult to hold the pair of optical fibers directly by hand and insert the tips of the optical fibers into the photoelectric sensor or the like. For example, the insertion of one of the optical fibers becomes shallow, causing a light transmission loss with respect to the photoelectric element provided in the sensor, and there is a possibility that stable detection cannot be performed.
Therefore, as an aid for connecting optical fibers, a connection auxiliary tool capable of holding a pair of optical fibers is used to hold the ends of the optical fibers together in advance, and then to a device such as a sensor. What is connected is described in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 62-121745.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in this connection auxiliary tool, after optical fibers are fitted in a pair of grooves provided in one connector member, the other connector member is screwed to the connector member so as to sandwich the optical fibers. Therefore, there is a problem that the operation becomes very complicated especially when it is necessary to repeatedly attach and detach the optical fiber.
[0004]
Further, in the one described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-304659, after a pair of optical fibers are tightly inserted into a pair of through holes of a rubber packing, the rubber packing is accommodated in a packing accommodating portion of a connection aid. However, this also requires work such as pushing the optical fiber into the through-hole of the rubber packing, so that the workability is not good.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide an optical fiber connection auxiliary tool capable of improving workability at the time of attaching / detaching an optical fiber.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The optical fiber connection auxiliary tool according to the first aspect of the present invention for solving the above-mentioned problem is capable of being pressed by the user with a main body portion provided with a plurality of insertion holes through which the optical fibers can be inserted substantially in parallel. A holding position for holding the optical fiber between the wall of the insertion hole by allowing it to protrude into the insertion hole, and allowing the optical fiber to be inserted and withdrawn from the insertion hole. a holding member displaceable operating between an open position, and an elastic member for urging said holding member into the holding position side from the open position, the holding member, the pushing operation section is the elastic to It is characterized in that it is displaced to the open position when pressed against the biasing force by the member and is displaced toward the holding position by the biasing force by the elastic member when the pressing operation portion is not pressed .
[0006]
Operation and effect of the invention
According to the invention of claim 1, when mounting the optical fiber to the connection aid, after operating the holding member to the open position and inserting the optical fiber into each insertion hole, when releasing the hand from the holding member, The holding member is displaced to the holding position by the urging of the elastic member, and the optical fiber is held by the connection aid. Also, when removing the optical fiber, it is only necessary to operate the holding member to the open position, so that the workability at the time of attaching / detaching the optical fiber can be improved.
[0007]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Next, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
As shown in FIG. 1, the connection auxiliary tool 20 of the present embodiment is used when connecting the ends of a pair of optical fibers 15 to an electronic device 10 such as a photoelectric sensor, for example. The electronic device 10 includes a pair of insertion holes 11 into which the end portions of the optical fibers 15 can be inserted on the front surface, and faces the end surfaces of the optical fibers 15 inserted into the insertion holes 11 inside. Are provided with a light receiving element and a light projecting element (not shown).
[0008]
The connection assisting tool 20 includes a main body portion 21 made of a synthetic resin material. The main body portion 21 is provided with a pair of insertion holes 22 through which the optical fiber 15 can be inserted in parallel along the front-rear direction. Yes. A sliding hole 23 that penetrates in the vertical direction and has a substantially rectangular cross section is provided in the center of the main body 21 in the front-rear and left-right directions. A part of the sliding hole 23 communicates with the left and right insertion holes 22. A bearing hole 24 is formed at the center of the main body 21 in the left-right direction so as to pass through the front and rear of the main body 21 with the sliding hole 23 interposed therebetween. A holding member 30 described later is provided in the bearing hole 24. A mounting shaft 25 for mounting is mounted. On the upper surface of the main body portion 21, a concave portion 26 having a groove shape is provided along the left-right direction.
[0009]
The holding member 30 is made of a synthetic resin material like the main body portion 21, and includes a pressing operation portion 31 having a plate shape elongated in the left-right direction at the upper portion, and the insertion portion 32 extends downward from the center of the pressing operation portion 31. Yes. The lower portion of the insertion portion 32 has an outer diameter that is slightly smaller than the sliding hole 23, and the holding member 30 can slide up and down with the insertion portion 32 inserted into the sliding hole 23. ing. An attachment hole 33 through which the attachment shaft 25 is inserted is provided in the insertion portion 32 along the front-rear direction. The attachment hole 33 is elongated in the vertical direction when viewed from the front, and the holding member 30 is within a range in which the attachment shaft 25 can move the attachment hole 33, that is, between the holding position and the open position shown below. It can be displaced up and down.
[0010]
3 and 4 show a state when the holding member 30 is in the holding position. The upper portion of the insertion portion 32 is slightly tapered in the left-right direction, and the vicinity of the boundary between the lower portion of the insertion portion 32 and the tapered portion on the left and right side surfaces of the insertion portion 32 is an overhang portion 34. In the holding position, the projecting portion 34 projects into the insertion hole 22 so that the optical fiber 15 inserted therethrough can be sandwiched and held between the inner wall surface on the opposite side of the insertion hole 22. Further, at the holding position, the pressing operation portion 31 protrudes upward from the recess 26, and the pressing operation to the lower side (that is, the open position side) can be performed.
[0011]
5 and 6 show a state when the holding member 30 is in the open position. At this time, the pressing operation portion 31 is accommodated in the recess 26, and the overhang portion 34 is retracted downward from the insertion hole 22. Thus, the optical fiber 15 can be inserted into and removed from the insertion hole 22.
An elastic member 35 formed by bending a metal plate material is attached to the lower side of the pressing operation unit 31. A pair of leg portions 36 extend from the elastic member 35 to the left and right, and the tips of these leg portions 36 abut against the bottom surface of the recess 26 so that the holding member 30 is always on the upper holding position side. Is energized.
[0012]
The present embodiment has the above configuration, and the operation thereof will be described next.
In order to attach the optical fiber 15 to the connection aid 20, first, the pressing operation portion 31 is pushed downward against the urging force of the elastic member 35 to displace the holding member 30 from the holding position to the open position (FIG. 5). And FIG. 6). Thereby, the overhang | projection part 34 retracts below the insertion hole 22, and the insertion hole 22 is open | released. Subsequently, the end portion of the optical fiber 15 is inserted into each insertion hole 22 while the pressing operation portion 31 is pressed, and the hand is released from the pressing operation portion 31 when the end portion is appropriately inserted. Then, the holding member 30 is displaced toward the holding position by the elastic restoring force of the elastic member 35, and the protruding portion 34 extends into the insertion hole 22, and the optical fiber 15 is sandwiched between the wall surface on the opposite side of the insertion hole 22. (See FIGS. 3 and 4). Thereby, the optical fiber 15 is held in a state where it cannot be inserted and removed.
[0013]
Next, in order to connect the optical fiber 15 to the electronic device 10, first, the distal ends of the pair of optical fibers 15 extended from the connection auxiliary tool 20 are simultaneously cut with a fiber cutter or the like to make the extension length uniform. If it does in this way, the insertion length to the insertion hole 11 of the electronic device 10 can be match | combined correctly, and a highly accurate assembly | attachment will be attained. The pair of optical fibers 15 are simultaneously connected to the electronic device 10 by inserting the tip of the optical fiber 15 into the corresponding insertion hole 11 while holding the connection aid 20.
[0014]
As described above, according to the present embodiment, when the optical fiber 15 is attached to the connection assisting tool 20, the holding member 30 is operated to the open position, and then the optical fiber 15 is inserted into each insertion hole 22. When the hand is released from the holding member 30, the holding member 30 is displaced to the holding position by the urging of the elastic member 35, and the optical fiber 15 is held. Similarly, when the optical fiber 15 is removed, it is only necessary to operate the holding member 30 to the open position, so that the workability at the time of attaching / detaching the optical fiber 15 can be improved.
[0015]
The technical scope of the present invention is not limited by the above-described embodiments, and, for example, those described below are also included in the technical scope of the present invention.
(1) In the above-described embodiment, a connection aid that can mount a pair of optical fibers has been described. However, three or more optical fibers may be mounted.
