【0082】
La/Sa=C/(A−T) …(1)
Lb/Sb=C/(B−T) …(2)
【0083】
T=(A・Sb−B・Sa・K)/(Sb−Sa・K) …(3)
但し、K=Lb/La

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is a circular object identification device for optically identifying a circular object such as a coin or medal to be identified, and in particular, optically detects a plurality of features such as the diameter and thickness of a coin simultaneously. It is related with the circular object identification device of the simple structure which can identify a circular object.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, an identification device that optically detects the diameter of a coin and identifies the coin is known. For example, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 58-132848, a pair of
[0003]
In addition, Japanese Patent Publication No. 63-67714 proposes an optical coin discriminating device having a similar configuration. In Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 55-159103, a light source and a light band made up of a large number of optical fibers are arranged so as to sandwich the object to be measured, and a large number of light receiving elements are arranged facing the light emission surface of the light band. Discriminating devices based on arranged outer shape measurements have been proposed.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, these conventional identification devices optically measure and identify only the outer diameter (diameter) of a circular object such as a coin, and have a function of optically measuring characteristics such as thickness and presence / absence of a hole. Was not provided, and the identification object was narrow.
[0005]
By the way, an identification device having a function of optically measuring a hole portion and an outer shape of a coin is known. However, this technique does not optically measure multiple characteristics of coins simultaneously, but has the function of optically measuring the outer shape of coins and the thickness of coins or the presence or absence of holes at the same time. Not done. Furthermore, even if a device for optically detecting the thickness of a coin or the presence / absence of a hole is added to this technique, it is not always possible to effectively detect not only the outer shape of the coin but also the thickness of the coin or the presence / absence of a hole. The reason is that an expensive line sensor is used and the timing of detection by the line sensor is controlled, and an advanced arithmetic processing means for processing a large amount of data at high speed is not used. In order to detect the outer shape, thickness, or the presence of holes, generally, when the area of the light-shielding portion is maximized using a photoelectric conversion element such as a photodiode, the detection position of the identification data is determined. This is because the outer shape, thickness, and presence / absence of a hole cannot be accurately measured due to the difference in detection timing. This will be described in more detail as follows.
[0006]
That is, as shown in FIG. 42B, as the
[0007]
For this reason, in the prior art, there remains room for improvement regarding accurate identification based not only on the outer shape of the coin but also on the thickness of the coin and the presence or absence of a hole.
[0008]
The present invention has been made to solve such problems of the prior art, and even with a simple configuration, a circular object that can accurately identify a circular object by accurately detecting the identification timing of the circular object. An object is to provide an object identification device.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The circular object identification device according to the present invention includes a pair of photoelectric conversion elements having a light / dark boundary in the detection field of view on both sides of a conveyance area where a circular object to be identified is conveyed, and one of the photoelectric conversion elements. A third photoelectric conversion element having a detection boundary in the light-dark boundary relating to the edge of the conveyance area at a position shifted in the conveyance direction from the detection visual field, and outputs of the one photoelectric conversion element and the third photoelectric conversion element Is detected based on a binary object or a binary value of the detected value of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and the detected value of the third photoelectric conversion element at the time of detection. In this configuration, a circular object is identified by recognizing the outer shape of the circular object.
[0010]
In this configuration, when each of the two photoelectric conversion elements separated in the conveyance direction of the circular object matches a predetermined output value determined by actual measurement when the circular object is positioned in advance at a specific position, for example, Is detected, and the outer shape of the circular object can be recognized based on the outputs of the two or three photoelectric conversion elements at the time of the detection, so that the circular object can be accurately identified.
[0011]
Here, as a light source for illuminating each of the photoelectric conversion elements, one light source is arranged for each photoelectric conversion element, or two photoelectric conversion elements are illuminated by one of the two light sources, and the other One photoelectric conversion element may be illuminated with one light source, or three photoelectric conversion elements may be illuminated with one light source.
[0012]
In this case, when illuminating three photoelectric conversion elements with one light source, the position of each photoelectric conversion element is determined based on the positional relationship between the light source and the edges on both sides of the conveyance area of the circular object. The positional relationship between the elements is determined. At this time, as a single light source, one of the photoelectric conversion elements is illuminated from directly above, and the other photoelectric conversion elements are illuminated from an oblique direction, or three photoelectric conversion elements are It is good also as the arrangement which illuminates all from the diagonal direction.
[0013]
Also, when illuminating one photoelectric conversion element with one of the two light sources and illuminating one photoelectric conversion element with the other light source, one light source illuminates one of the two photoelectric conversion elements from directly above, The other photoelectric conversion element may be illuminated from an oblique direction, and the other light source may be arranged to illuminate one photoelectric conversion element from directly above or from an oblique direction.
[0014]
When illuminating the three photoelectric conversion elements with different light sources, the respective light sources may be arranged to illuminate the corresponding photoelectric conversion elements from directly above or from an oblique direction.
[0015]
Furthermore, when identifying a certain circular object, the output values of the three photoelectric conversion elements are preferably all the same, but they may be different values. For example, in the latter case, the light / dark boundary generated by the edge of the circular object is located at an arbitrary position on the light receiving surfaces of the three photoelectric conversion elements at the time of detection, and therefore, the output value of each photoelectric conversion element. The detection time cannot be determined directly from the output values. Therefore, the output value of each photoelectric conversion element at the time of detection is obtained in advance, and the detection time can be determined when each of the output values matches the value obtained in advance.
[0016]
On the other hand, in the former case, for example, the three photoelectric conversion elements are arranged so that the light / dark boundary caused by the edge of the circular object is located at the center position of the light receiving surfaces of the three photoelectric conversion elements at the detection time point. In this case, there is an advantage that the detection time can be determined when the output values are directly compared, that is, when the three output values coincide with each other, and the arithmetic processing at the time of determination can be easily performed.
[0017]
Further, the height position of each photoelectric conversion element with respect to the circular object conveyance area may be different from each other in consideration of the relationship with the output value of the photoelectric conversion element, or may be the same height position.
[0018]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, at least one of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and the third photoelectric conversion element are provided so as to detect a light / dark boundary with respect to an edge of the minimum diameter circular object and the maximum diameter circular object. It can be set as a structure.
[0019]
In this configuration, the entire light receiving surface of the photoelectric conversion element is prevented from becoming undetectable due to being bright or dark.
[0020]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the pair of photoelectric conversion elements are provided above a position equidistant from the center in the width direction of the transport area, and the third photoelectric conversion element has the same width as the distance. It can be set as the structure provided above the position away from the direction center.
[0021]
In this configuration, the position of each photoelectric conversion element is in a symmetric state, and the handling of detection results can be improved.
[0022]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the light source that illuminates the third photoelectric conversion element and the pair of photoelectric conversion elements is provided on the opposite side of the photoelectric conversion element across the transport area. can do.
[0023]
With this configuration, it becomes possible to identify a circular object by detection using a transmission optical system.
[0024]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, in addition to the light source, a second light source and a fourth photoelectric conversion element illuminated by the second light source are provided. The second light source and the fourth light source The positional relationship with the light / dark boundary regarding the edge of the circular object captured by the photoelectric conversion element, the light / dark boundary regarding the edge of the circular object captured by one of the third photoelectric conversion element and the pair of photoelectric conversion elements, and the above The thickness of the circular object can also be measured based on the positional relationship with the light source.
[0025]
In this configuration, both the outer shape and thickness of the circular object can be detected and identified together, and the identification accuracy is improved.
[0026]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the pair of photoelectric conversion elements, the third photoelectric conversion element, and the fourth photoelectric conversion element are disposed on the same side of the transport area with the light source and the second light source. It can be set as the structure provided in the other side and the same side with respect to a conveyance area | region with respect to a light source.
[0027]
In this configuration, the light source side and the photoelectric conversion element side are separated with the conveyance area interposed therebetween, and the support structure of each light source and the support structure of each photoelectric conversion element can be simplified. .
[0028]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the light source and the second light source are opposite to the transport area, and the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and the third photoelectric conversion element are opposite to the light source. Thus, a configuration may be adopted in which the fourth photoelectric conversion element is provided on the opposite side with respect to the transport area.
[0029]
In this configuration, the fourth photoelectric conversion element for detecting the thickness of the circular object and the second light source as the light source are arranged in the opposite direction to the photoelectric conversion element for recognizing the outer shape of the circular object and the light source. As a result, the degree of freedom of the arrangement of the photoelectric conversion element and the light source for detecting the thickness and the arrangement of the photoelectric conversion element and the light source for detecting the outer shape can be reduced. Can be improved.
[0030]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, a lens system for illuminating the light from the light source as parallel light on the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and the third photoelectric conversion element may be provided.
[0031]
In this configuration, since the light emitted from the light source is processed into a plurality of parallel lights, it is possible to use only one light source. Therefore, by comparing the output of each photoelectric conversion element, it can be transported. It is possible to determine whether there is dirt in the passage. Further, it is not necessary to consider the extent of spread according to the distance of the light beam, and the circular object identification device can be reduced in size.
[0032]
The circular object identification device of the present invention can be configured to determine the authenticity of the circular object based on identification data based on the relationship between the diameter and thickness of the circular object determined in advance and these measured values.
[0033]
In this configuration, the authenticity of the circular object can be determined by comparing the identification data with the actual measurement value, and the identification processing speed can be improved.
[0034]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the output signals when the output signals of the one photoelectric conversion element and the third photoelectric conversion element are input and both the photoelectric conversion elements detect the light / dark boundary related to the edge of the circular object. A determination means for determining an identification timing based on the output timing and outputting an identification timing signal; an input of an identification timing signal from the determination means; and an output signal of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements; A circular object based on an addition means for adding the respective output signals of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and a signal added by the addition means and an arithmetic expression set in advance And a means for calculating the diameter.
[0035]
In this configuration, since the circular object is identified by adding the output signals of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements, even if the circular object is misaligned in the width direction with respect to the conveyance area, There is an advantage that the detection error due to the deviation can be eliminated.
[0036]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, storage means for storing reference values of the output signals of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements, and output signals of the one photoelectric conversion element and the third photoelectric conversion element are input. A determination unit that determines an identification timing based on an output signal when both photoelectric conversion elements detect a light / dark boundary relating to the edge of a circular object and outputs an identification timing signal; an identification timing signal from the determination unit; and the storage A normalization means for inputting a reference value of each means and each output signal of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements, and normalizing by dividing each output signal when the identification timing signal is inputted by the reference value; and the normalization means The addition means for adding each signal standardized in the above, the signal added by the addition means is input, and based on the added signal and a preset arithmetic expression It may be configured to and means for calculating the diameter of the object.
[0037]
In this configuration, since a standardized signal is used, it is possible to eliminate a measurement error that occurs due to an illuminance difference between the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements.
[0038]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the positional relationship between the second light source and a light / dark boundary relating to the edge of the circular object captured by the fourth photoelectric conversion element, the third photoelectric conversion element, and the pair of photoelectric conversion elements A thickness detecting means for detecting the thickness of the circular object based on the light / dark boundary relating to the edge of the circular object captured by one of the conversion elements and the positional relationship between the light sources may be provided.
[0039]
In this configuration, since the thickness of the circular object is detected based on the two positional relationships, it is possible to use a detection means that is less expensive than when the thickness of the circular object is directly detected by the thickness detection means. There is.
[0040]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and the third photoelectric conversion element are provided on the same side as the light source with respect to the transport area, and each photoelectric conversion element is reflected light from the circular object. It can be set as the structure which catches.
[0041]
With this configuration, it becomes possible to identify a circular object using a reflective optical system.
[0042]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, when the output of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements reaches a certain level or more, a signal indicating the passage of the circular object can be output.
[0043]
In this configuration, it is only necessary to store a signal after the time when the signal is captured, and only a signal necessary for identification can be effectively used, and storage of a signal that is not used for identification is unnecessary. Therefore, simplification in the signal processing circuit can be achieved.
[0044]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, a fifth photoelectric conversion element is provided at an intermediate position between the other of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and the third photoelectric conversion element, and an output of the fifth photoelectric conversion element is provided. Based on this, it is possible to detect the presence or absence of a hole provided in the circular object.
[0045]
In this configuration, in addition to the outer shape and thickness of the circular object, the presence or absence of a hole provided in the circular object can be used as a circular object identification condition.
[0046]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the authenticity of the circular object can be determined based on the presence or absence of a hole detected based on the output of the fifth photoelectric conversion element.
[0047]
In this configuration, since the circular object can be identified based on the presence or absence of a hole provided in the circular object in addition to the outer shape and thickness of the circular object, more accurate identification is possible.
[0048]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the authenticity of the circular object is determined based on the identification data based on the relationship between the diameter of the circular object obtained in advance and the presence or absence of a hole, and these measured values. Can do.
[0049]
In this configuration, the identification processing speed is improved because the identification of the circular object is performed based on the identification data based on the relationship between the diameter of the circular object and the presence / absence of the hole obtained in advance and the measured values thereof. In addition, the accuracy can be improved as compared with the identification based only on the outer shape (diameter) of the circular object.
[0050]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the authenticity of the circular object is determined based on the identification data based on the relationship between the diameter and thickness of the circular object obtained in advance and the presence / absence of a hole, and these measured values. be able to.
[0051]
In this configuration, since the identification of the circular object is performed based on the identification data based on the relationship between the diameter and thickness of the circular object obtained in advance and the presence / absence of a hole, and these measured values, the identification processing speed The accuracy can be improved as compared with the identification based on the diameter of the circular object and the presence or absence of the hole.
[0052]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, there are provided a lens that collimates the radiated light from the light source, and a mask that partially shields the parallel light transmitted through the lens and irradiates the circular object. can do.
[0053]
In this configuration, since the light emitted from the light source is processed into parallel light, it is not necessary to consider the extent of spread according to the distance of the light beam, and the arrangement of the light projecting system and the light receiving system, particularly the light receiving system, The shape of the photoelectric conversion element can be simplified.
[0054]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, a lens for condensing the reflected light from the circular object is provided in front of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements, the third photoelectric conversion element, and the fifth photoelectric conversion element. It can be.
[0055]
In this configuration, since the condenser lens exists in front of the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements, the photoelectric conversion elements can be arranged close to each other, and the light receiving system can be reduced in size.
[0056]
The circular object identification device of the present invention may have a configuration having a mask that converts the emitted light from the light source into a light beam of a predetermined area. With this configuration, a plurality of lights from a single light source can be extracted with the same intensity. In addition, this circular object identification device can be configured to be provided with a lens that collects the reflected light from the circular object. With this configuration, it is possible to eliminate the necessity of separating the photoelectric conversion elements larger than in the case of parallel light in order to detect light emitted from the light source and reflected from the circular object. The distance can be shortened, and the light receiving system can be downsized.
[0057]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the fifth photoelectric conversion element has a first light receiving portion located in the center thereof and a second light receiving portion surrounding the outside thereof, and the first light receiving portion and the first light receiving portion Based on the ratio or difference between the outputs of the two light receiving sections, the diameter of the hole can be detected in addition to the presence or absence of the hole provided in the circular object.
[0058]
In this configuration, since the diameter (radius or diameter) of the hole can also be used as the identification condition, it becomes possible to identify the circular object more accurately.
[0059]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, a third light source for illuminating the fifth photoelectric conversion element may be separately provided.
[0060]
In this configuration, since the light source for illuminating the fifth photoelectric conversion element that detects the presence or absence of the hole or the size of the hole is provided independently, interference with light from other light sources is eliminated. In addition, the degree of freedom of arrangement when arranged in such a state can be improved.
[0061]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the output signals when the output signals of the one photoelectric conversion element and the third photoelectric conversion element are input and both the photoelectric conversion elements detect the light / dark boundary relating to the edge of the circular object. A determination unit that determines an identification timing based on the output timing and outputs an identification timing signal; inputs an identification timing signal from the determination unit; and inputs an output signal of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements; A circular object based on an addition means for adding the respective output signals of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and a signal added by the addition means and an arithmetic expression set in advance Means for calculating the diameter, a peak hold circuit for inputting an output from the fifth photoelectric conversion element and detecting a peak value thereof, and the fifth photoelectric conversion element Storing the output of al, it may be configured to and means for calculating the hole diameter of the circular object by the ratio of the peak value from the stored value and the peak hold circuit.
[0062]
In this configuration, the peak value is the light output from the portion where the hole is not provided in the circular object, and the means for calculating the hole diameter of the circular object is the output value from the fifth photoelectric conversion element and the peak hold. The hole diameter of the circular object is calculated based on the ratio with the peak value from the circuit.
[0063]
In the circular object identification device of the present invention, the diameter and the hole diameter of the circular object may be calculated based on a value obtained by standardizing the output of each photoelectric conversion element based on the peak value stored in the peak hold circuit. it can.
[0064]
In this configuration, when the ratio of the peak value to the output from the fifth photoelectric conversion element is larger than a certain value, it is determined as a circular object without a hole, and the corresponding is obtained in advance according to the diameter of the hole. The diameter of the hole is obtained by comparison with the value.

That is, as shown in FIG. 7, the Vx value changes uniquely with respect to the coin diameter D. If this equation is programmed in advance, the Vx value can be input to calculate the coin diameter D. . Alternatively, the relationship between the Vx value and the diameter D may be stored as a lookup table. Actually, as shown in FIG. 7, the value of the diameter D of the coin is influenced by the thickness T of the coin. However, the diameter D of the coin is calculated in advance by assuming a constant thickness, and is obtained later. The authenticity of the coin can be confirmed by comparing the thickness of the coin with the assumed thickness. Alternatively, the thickness of the coin is first obtained, and a substantially linear gradient (approximate value) for determining the relationship between Vx and the diameter is determined based on the obtained value, and the determined approximate expression for the substantially straight line. And the diameter may be obtained from the Vx value. In the embodiment of the flowchart of FIG. 11, the description is based on the former, but it is obvious that both cases are within the scope of the present invention.

Next, distances La and Lb to the shadow edges of the coins on the

Then, the calculated La and Lb values and the fixed data values (Sa, Sb, A, and B) relating to the dimensions of the optical system stored in advance are inputted into the equation (3) to calculate the thickness T of the coin. (Step S22). Then, the coin thickness T0 corresponding to the diameter D obtained in step S19 is obtained by referring to a table in which the relationship between the diameter and thickness of coins stored in advance is obtained (step S23). Are compared with the coin thickness T obtained optically by the circular object identification device (step S24). When the difference between the two T and T0 exceeds a certain range, it is processed as a false coin (step S26), and the flapper mechanism is driven by the output of the
[0104]
In such a flow, the authenticity is determined based on both the diameter data and the thickness data of the coin, but when the diameter is obtained, the value is already sufficiently deviated from the value of the genuine coin. When the determination is made, the processing may be performed as a false coin without waiting for the determination based on the thickness.
[0105]
In the case of the first embodiment, the identification timing is set based on the detection data of the photoelectric conversion elements separated in the coin conveyance direction, and the coin is identified based on the diameter (outer shape) data and the thickness data detected at the timing. Therefore, it becomes possible to accurately identify coins.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the case of the circular object identification device of the present invention, the pair of photoelectric conversion elements at the time when one of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements and the third photoelectric conversion element detect a light / dark boundary related to the edge of the circular object. Since the circular object is recognized by the outer shape recognition of the circular object grasped based on the binary value or the ternary value of the detected value of the third photoelectric conversion element and the detected value of the third photoelectric conversion element, the circular object is separated in the conveyance direction. The time when the two photoelectric conversion elements capture a circular object is determined as the identification timing, and the circular object can be accurately identified based on the outer shape recognition of the circular object. Even in such a case, it is possible to provide a circular object identification device capable of accurately detecting the identification timing of a circular object and reliably identifying the circular object.
