Description
The present invention relates to an optical pickup device mounted on a device that performs recording and reproduction on an optical disk.
CD(Compact Disc)、DVD(Digital Versatile Disc)、BD(Blu−ray Disc;登録商標)などの光ディスクに対して記録再生を行う装置には、光学系を備えた光ピックアップ装置が搭載されている。 2. Description of the Related Art An optical pickup device equipped with an optical system is mounted on an apparatus that performs recording and reproduction on an optical disk such as a CD (Compact Disc), a DVD (Digital Versatile Disc), and a BD (Blu-ray Disc; registered trademark). . The optical pickup device projects laser light projected from a light emitting element onto an optical disc through an objective lens, and receives reflected light reflected by the disc with a light receiving element to read information recorded on the optical disc.
By the way, the optical disk is provided with a protective layer for protecting the disk surface. Since the thickness of this protective layer varies depending on the type of the optical disk, in an apparatus corresponding to a plurality of types of optical disks, the focus is pulled in. The objective lens may come into contact with the optical disc, and information on the disc may not be read, or the lens and the disc may be damaged. In addition, the objective lens may come into contact with the optical disk even when the optical disk has scratches or the like and focus servo control cannot be performed normally (when the servo is out).
Conventionally, as a countermeasure, a hard coat process is applied to the optical disk side, or a shock absorbing material is attached to the objective lens side so as to reduce damage at the time of contact between the objective lens and the optical disk. However, such a method does not prevent contact between the lens and the disk itself, and is insufficient as a countermeasure.
There is a method for avoiding contact between the objective lens and the optical disc by discriminating the type of the inserted optical disc in a predetermined order. Specifically, it is first determined whether or not the inserted optical disk is the thinnest BD of the protective layer. If it is not BD, it is determined whether or not it is the thinnest DVD of the protective layer. It is determined whether the CD is thick. In this way, the contact between the lens and the disk can be avoided by determining in order from the thin protective layer and adjusting the position of the objective lens according to the determination result. However, since this method is performed when a disc is inserted and cannot be performed during reproduction or recording of the disc, contact during reproduction / recording cannot be prevented.
On the other hand, the following Patent Document 1 is provided with a collision detector that detects that a coating layer applied to a disk side end surface of a lens holder that supports an objective lens has collided with a laser beam incident surface of an optical disk. Describes an optical disc apparatus in which the movement of the lens holder is stopped based on the output. However, in the apparatus of this document, a part of the lens holder is in contact with the objective lens, and the contact itself is not prevented in advance. Patent Document 2 below describes an optical disc apparatus that optically measures the thickness of a transparent layer of an optical disc and corrects spherical aberration of the objective lens based on the measurement result. However, the apparatus of this document corrects spherical aberration and does not prevent contact between the objective lens and the optical disk.
As described above, the conventional technology cannot effectively prevent contact between the objective lens and the optical disc during focus pull-in or servo-out during reproduction or recording of the optical disc.
The present invention solves the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide an optical pickup device that can prevent the objective lens and the optical disc from coming into contact with each other during reproduction or recording of the optical disc. It is to provide.
In the present invention, in an optical pickup device that projects laser light projected from a light emitting element onto an optical disc via an objective lens, and receives reflected light reflected by the optical disc by a light receiving element, reads the recorded information on the optical disc. Projecting means for projecting proximity detection light for detecting that the optical disk has approached the optical disk, light receiving means for receiving the proximity detection light projected from the projection means and reflected by the optical disk, and moving the objective lens in the optical axis direction A focus actuator for adjusting the focus of the laser light projected on the optical disc, and a control means for controlling the focus actuator based on the output of the light receiving means. The optical path of the approach detection light from the projection means to the light receiving means is set at a position shifted from the optical path of the laser light projected from the light emitting element onto the optical disc. Then, the approach detection light is projected onto the optical disc from an oblique direction and reflected by the optical disc in the oblique direction. The control means controls the focus actuator so that the objective lens moves away from the optical disk when the approach detection light reflected in the oblique direction by the optical disk is received by the light receiving means.
In the present invention, when the objective lens abnormally approaches the optical disk, the proximity detection light projected from the projection means and reflected by the optical disk is received by the light receiving means, so that the control means controls the focus actuator based on the output of the light receiving means. Since the objective lens is moved away from the optical disk, it is possible to prevent the objective lens from coming into contact with the optical disk, and it is possible to prevent the information on the disk from being read or damage to the lens or the disk due to the contact. . Further, since the light receiving means always monitors the reception of the approach detection light, it is possible to reliably detect the abnormal approach of the objective lens to the optical disk even during reproduction or recording of the disk.
In the present invention, the first optical element that refracts the approach detection light projected from the projecting means in the direction of the optical axis of the objective lens and in the direction approaching the optical disk so as to be projected obliquely onto the optical disk, and the optical disk. You may provide the 2nd optical element which refracts the approach detection light reflected in the diagonal direction to the light- receiving means by refracting in the optical axis direction of an objective lens, and the direction away from an optical disk . In this case, by setting the angle formed between the proximity detection light refracted by the first optical element and the optical disk to an angle at which the proximity detection light is totally reflected on the surface of the optical disk, all of the proximity detection light from the projection unit is obtained. Is reflected by the optical disc and received by the light receiving means, the optical power of the projection means can be reduced, and the approach between the objective lens and the optical disc can be detected with a smaller amount of light.
In the present invention, a part of the laser light projected from the light emitting element may be branched and used as the approach detection light. In this case, a projection means is comprised by a light emitting element and the branch optical element which branches a part of laser beam projected from the said light emitting element. According to this, a light source for generating the approach detection light becomes unnecessary, and power saving can be achieved.
According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent the objective lens and the optical disc from coming into contact with each other during reproduction or recording of the optical disc, so that the information on the disc cannot be read or the objective lens or the optical disc is damaged. It can be avoided.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a schematic configuration diagram of an
FIG. 2 is a top view of the
The
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 4, when the
In this way, when the
As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the
In this embodiment, the angle θ (see FIG. 4) between the approach detection light B refracted by the
FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing an example of a focus actuator controller that controls the
FIG. 6 is a block diagram showing another example of the focus actuator controller. In FIG. 6, the same parts as those in FIG. The
FIG. 7 is a schematic configuration diagram of an
Thus, according to the above-described embodiments, when the
In the present invention, various embodiments can be adopted in addition to the embodiments described above. For example, in the embodiment, the
In the first embodiment of FIG. 1, a semiconductor laser is used as the
