Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a coating apparatus that performs coating by atomizing paint with a rotary atomizing head that is driven to rotate at high speed by an air motor, and in particular, is set in advance for each object to be conveyed one after another, such as automobile painting. In addition, it is suitable for use in a multicolor electrostatic coating apparatus for electrostatically applying conductive paints of various colors.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In automobile body painting, paints using organic solvents are the mainstream, but from the viewpoint of environmental protection and pollution prevention, it is required to reduce volatile organic solvents generated in large quantities in the painting process. As a result, painting with water-based paint has attracted attention.
[0003]
In order to use water-based paint without waste, it is preferable to apply with an electrostatic coating device with high coating efficiency. However, water-based paint has low electrical resistance, and the electrostatic coating machine uses paint that flows through the paint supply system. Since the rotary atomizing head and the ground side are easy to conduct, it is necessary to take insulation measures for the entire paint supply system to prevent leakage of a high voltage of −60 to 90 kV applied to the rotary atomizing head.
[0004]
In addition, since the car body is painted with several tens of colors, it is extremely troublesome to take insulation measures for all of them, and there is a problem that the equipment becomes large.
[0005]
In addition, when color change coating is performed by supplying each color paint, the previous color paint remaining in the rotary atomizing head or inside the coating machine is washed when the previous color paint finishes being applied, and the next supplied Although color mixing with the color paint is prevented, there are many remaining paints to be discarded, a large amount of cleaning liquid such as thinner is required, and the cleaning time is long.
[0006]
Therefore, recently, an electrostatic coating apparatus as shown in FIG. 4 has been proposed (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 8-229446).

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, recently, from the viewpoint of protecting the global environment, there has been a demand for energy saving and space saving from the viewpoint of greatly reducing CO 2 emissions and reducing production costs.
[0012]
For example, the energy consumed in the painting booth reaches about 60% of the energy consumed in the entire painting plant, and the energy consumed in the painting booth is almost constant regardless of the production volume. As a result, there is a problem that the running cost increases and the production cost per vehicle increases as the production volume decreases.
[0013]
For this reason, in the past, the intermediate coating process-drying process-top coating process-drying process was carried out while conveying the automobile body to be coated on the conveyor, and the intermediate coating and top coating were performed on the same stage with the conveyor stopped. After that, if the painting process is simplified such as drying, the painting booth can be shortened and the running cost can be reduced.
[0014]
However, there are different types of coating equipment for the inner plate that coats the interior side of the car body and the coating device for the outer plate that coats the trunk lid upper surface, roof upper surface, bonnet upper surface, side surface, etc. Therefore, in the past, the coating device for the inner plate and the coating device for the outer plate are installed on different stages for painting.
[0015]
In other words, the coating device for the inner plate can freely change its posture in a narrow room, and the rotary atomizing head has a small diameter (about 35 mm in diameter) so that the painted surface in a room with many irregularities can be uniformly painted with a small coating pattern. On the other hand, the outer plate coating apparatus is provided with a rotary atomizing
[0016]
Further, the intermediate coating apparatus has a relatively fine atomization level and a large spray amount, whereas the top coating apparatus has a relatively fine atomization level and a small spray amount.
For this reason, for each of the intermediate coating and the top coating, a total of four types of two types, one for the inner plate and one for the outer plate, are required, and eight coating devices are required on both the left and right sides. It was difficult to install on the stage, and eventually it was difficult to perform intermediate coating and top coating on one stage.
[0017]
In addition, when coating is performed using the
For this reason, for example, the outer peripheral surface of the coating machine
[0018]
Therefore, the present invention enables not only the inner and outer coatings of an object to be coated such as an automobile body, but also the intermediate coating and the top coating can be performed in one stage, and the paint adheres to the outer peripheral surface. The technical challenge is to be able to clean the work without interruption.
[0019]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve this problem, the present invention is loaded with a plurality of bell units (5) having a rotary atomizing head (2) for atomizing paint and detachable from the bell units (5). And a painting robot (6) in which a plurality of paint cassettes (6) pre-filled with paint to be supplied to the rotary atomizing head (2) and a holder (8) for detachably mounting the bell unit (5) are attached ( R), and a coating device that performs coating by loading an optional paint cassette (6) in an optional bell unit (5) and mounting the bell unit on the holder (8),
Each bell unit (5) has a rotary atomizing head (2) driven by a tubular rotary shaft (9) of an air motor (4) attached to the front end side thereof, and a paint cassette (6) stored in the rear end side thereof. Part (10) is formed,
The paint cassette (6) is formed with a paint supply nozzle (14) that is inserted into the tubular rotating shaft (9) when it is loaded into the storage section (10) of the bell unit (5). It is formed in a cylinder so that the paint can be extruded,
A paint pushing mechanism (7) that pushes paint by applying an external force to the paint cassette (6) loaded in the storage section (10) of the bell unit (5) to the holder (8) to which the bell unit is mounted. ) Is built-in .
[0020]
According to the present invention, the bell unit including the rotary atomizing head and the air motor that rotationally drives the rotary atomizing head is detachably attached to a holder fixed to the painting robot.
Therefore, as bell units, for example, for intermediate coating and top coating, a total of four types of bell units for inner plate coating and outer plate coating are prepared, and these bell units are mounted on both the left and right sides of the stage. If you install one robot at a time, you can paint on the same stage from intermediate coating to top coating by simply replacing the bell unit.
[0021]
In addition, one bell unit that has finished painting is removed from the holder fixed to the painting robot, and another bell unit loaded with a paint cassette filled with paint is attached to the holder while painting. Since one bell unit can be cleaned and the used paint cassette can be replaced, even if the outer peripheral surface of the bell unit becomes dirty, the bell unit can be cleaned without interrupting the painting operation.
