Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a signal input circuit having a plurality of input terminals.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as this type of signal input circuit, for example, there is a signal input circuit of a programmable controller that takes in an output signal from a sensor. This signal input circuit has a plurality of input terminals, and an input current flows through the photocoupler via the input resistor by the output operation of the sensor connected to these input terminals, and the photocoupler performs the output operation. And this output is given to the programmable controller side.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, there is a two-wire type sensor, and the power supply line and the output line are common, and even when the sensor is in an OFF state, a current exceeding a predetermined value (standby) is required to drive the sensor itself. Current) flows. Therefore, the input resistance of the signal input circuit used in such a two-wire sensor is a resistor having a small resistance value so that the standby current always flows. However, when a three-wire sensor, for example, is connected to such a signal input circuit with a low input resistance, there is a problem that when the sensor is turned on, a large current flows and the heat generation amount becomes very large accordingly. It was. In particular, when a large number of three-wire sensors are connected to a plurality of input terminals, heat generation becomes very large as a whole. Therefore, it is necessary to limit the number of three-wire sensors that can be connected at one time.
[0004]
In view of this, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-163105 discloses an invention that reduces heat generation as a whole by performing input processing for each input circuit by time division in a configuration including a plurality of the input circuits. However, when viewed as a whole, time-sharing processing must be performed, so input processing is delayed, or a configuration such as a shift register or a transistor for time-sharing processing is required, which increases costs and increases the cost of the device. There were problems such as incurring an increase in size.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and its object is to generate heat even when connected to an external device that performs an on / off operation other than a two-wire sensor while suppressing an increase in cost and an increase in size of the apparatus. A signal input circuit that can be suppressed is provided.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a signal input circuit according to the invention of claim 1 includes a plurality of input terminals, and two-wire sensors and other external devices such as a three-wire sensor that performs an on / off operation on each of the input terminals. Is selectively connected, and a current flows through the input element in accordance with the operation of the external device, so that the input element operates in the signal input circuit configured to operate the input element. A first input resistance set to a resistance value corresponding to a current value of a standby current for driving, and a second input resistance having a resistance value larger than the first input resistance, and a two-wire type at the input terminal The first input resistance is selected when the sensor is connected, and the second input resistance is selected when an external device other than the two-wire sensor is connected to the input terminal.
[0007]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the signal input circuit according to the first aspect, the first and second input resistors are connected to different input terminals.
[0008]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the signal input circuit according to the first aspect, the first and second input resistors are selectively connected to a common input terminal via a changeover switch. However, it has characteristics.
[0009]
[Action and effect of the invention]
According to the configuration of the present invention, when an external device such as a three-wire sensor that performs an on / off operation other than the two-wire sensor is connected to the input terminal and used, the first selected when the two-wire sensor is connected. Since the second input resistor having a resistance value larger than that of the input resistor is selected, an increase in the amount of heat generated by a large current can be avoided. Thereby, heat generation can be reduced while suppressing an increase in cost and an increase in size of the apparatus. Further, even if a plurality of external devices other than the two-wire sensor are connected and used or other signal input circuits are used in close proximity, the influence of heat generation can be suppressed.
