Description
また、共単量体の共重合比率が上記割合からなるアクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレン三元共重合体のラテックスを使用することによって、処理剤により形成された被膜が良好な柔軟性を持続したまま、良好な耐熱性を兼ね備えることが出来るという効果がもたらされる。
また、処理剤中の各成分を上記の量比にすることによって、ゴム製品を構成するゴム基材に対する補強用繊維の接着性と、最終的に得られるタイミングベルト等の耐屈曲疲労性とのバランスが良好となる。
したがって、本発明のゴム製品の補強用繊維は耐熱性と耐水性とを兼ね備えているので、自動車エンジン用のタイミングベルトの補強材に適するものである。
まず、上記した第1の処理剤を満たした液槽に被覆されるべき繊維を連続的に浸漬させて、第1の処理剤を繊維に付着、含浸させた後、続いて、その繊維を200〜350℃の熱風炉等の中で連続的に加熱して、第1の処理剤を乾燥、固化させることにより第1の被膜を形成し、第1の被膜を有する被覆繊維を得る。
ビニルピリジンラテックス(商品名「Pyratex」、日本エイ アンド エル社製)100部、ABSラテックス(商品名「Nipol 1577」、日本ゼオン社製)30部、RF縮合物(固形分7%)6.8部、及び、イオン交換水を混合して、濃度31%の第1の処理剤を得た。なお、上記の各成分の比率は固形分としての比率である。
ビニルピリジンラテックス(商品名「Pyratex」、日本エイ アンド エル社製)79.4部、スチレン−ブタジエン共重合体のラテックス(商品名「Nipol 2570X5」、日本ゼオン社製)20.6部、クロロスルフォン化ポリエチレンのラテックス(商品名「CSM450」、住友精化社製)11.1部、RF縮合物(固形分7%)5.9部、及び、イオン交換水を混合して濃度30%の第1の処理剤を得た。なお、上記の各成分の比率は固形分としての比率である。
ビニルピリジンラテックス(商品名「Pyratex」、日本エイ アンド エル社製)100部、アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン共重合体のラテックス(商品名「Nipol 1562」、日本ゼオン社製)44部、RF縮合物(固形分7%)7.5部、及び、イオン交換水を混合して濃度31%の第1の処理剤を得た。なお、上記の各成分の比率は固形分としての比率である。
実施例1、比較例1、2によって得られた各ゴム製品の補強用繊維について、下記の配合のゴム組成物を基材としたゴム製品についての常態での接着性及び煮沸後の接着性の評価を次の方法によって行った。その結果をまとめて表1に示す。
水素添加ニトリルゴム(商品名:ゼットポール2000、日本ゼオン社製):100部、酸化亜鉛:10部、メタクリル酸亜鉛:15部、2−メルカプトベンズイミダゾールの亜鉛塩:1部、置換ジフェニルアミン:1部、カーボンブラック[HAF]:3部、シリカ水和物:30部、ジクミルパーオキサイド:10部、1,3−ビス(t−ブチルパーオキシイソプロピル)ベンゼン:5部、硫黄:0.3部、TMTD[テトラメチルチウラムジスルフィド]:1部、MBT[2−メルカプトベンゾチアゾール]:0.5部。
上記のゴム組成物を加工し得た厚さ3mm、幅25mm、長さ100mmのゴムシートの上に、長さ方向に沿って補強用繊維を隙間なく並べた後、上記と同じゴムシートを載せて、上下のゴムシート間に補強用繊維を挟んだ状態とした。これを加熱プレス装置を用いて、温度170℃、圧力18.3kPaの条件で20分間加熱、加圧して、試験片とした。
常態での接着性の評価方法と同様に作製した試験片を沸騰水中に投入して5時間煮沸した後、布で拭って水分を除去し、常態での接着性の評価方法と同じ条件で接着強さを測定した。この煮沸後の接着強さを常態での接着強さで除した値を百分率に換算して保持率とし、耐水性を評価する指標とした。
Claims (3)
- 処理剤により形成された被膜によって繊維が被覆されているゴム製品の補強用繊維であって、
前記処理剤が、固形分換算で、ビニルピリジン−スチレン−ブタジエン三元共重合体を少なくとも含むゴムラテックス100質量部に対して、アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレン三元共重合体のラテックスを20〜50質量部、レゾルシン及びホルムアルデヒドの水溶性縮合物を5〜15質量部含有し、
前記アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレン三元共重合体のラテックスが、それぞれの共単量体の共重合比率が合計を100質量%としたときに、アクリロニトリルが25〜35質量%、ブタジエンが30〜40質量%、スチレンが30〜40質量%である三元共重合体のラテックスであることを特徴とするゴム製品の補強用繊維。 - 前記処理剤により形成された被膜上に、未硬化フェノール樹脂及びゴムを含有する第2の処理剤により形成された第2の被膜を有する、請求項1に記載のゴム製品の補強用繊維。
- 前記第2の処理剤が、更に未硬化エポキシ樹脂を含有する、請求項2に記載のゴム製品の補強用繊維。
