【従来技術とその問題点】
汚水汚物中での使用を目的としたボルテックス型遠心ポンプでは図8に示よう、サクションカバー上面104と羽根板下縁103との間の間隔Sが広く形成されているため、塊体の通過は容易である。しかし羽根車101の入口部111の構造については清水中で使用される通常の遠心ポンプと何ら異なるところがないため、汚水汚物中に混在している繊維状、紐状の異物が羽根車101の入口部111の羽根板内縁115や羽根車締着部材106等に絡み付き、それが次第に増大して入口部111全体を閉塞し、揚水不能や過負荷運転状態を惹起することが屡であり、閉塞解除のため手数の掛る清掃作業を頻繁に実施しなければならない。また、ポンプ機場の補機設備として、予め揚液中の異物を除去するためのスクリーン装置を設置することもあるが、その場合にはその設備費や、それを駆動させるための動力費等のランニングコストが別途必要となる。

本発明に係る繊維状、紐状異物を含む汚水汚物中で使用されるボルテックス型遠心ポンプにおける羽根車の入口部の閉塞防止装置において、バッフルプレートの周縁部を各羽根板内縁の下方部に跨るよう、該バッフルプレートはその下面が羽根車の羽板下縁とツライチ状に羽根車入口部内周の羽根板内縁に係着させ、羽根車の入口部がバッフルプレートにより遮蔽されるように構成したものである。

ボルテックス型遠心ポンプの駆動時において、ポンプ吸込口13から流入する汚水汚物は羽根車1と同一の回転方向に旋回しながら、バッフルプレート7の周辺部から羽根板14・・・・14間に導入せられ、ポンプ吐出口15から吐出導管(図示せず)を通って排出される。即ち、バッフルプレート7が存在することにより、汚水汚物は羽根車1の入口部8を経由することなく羽根板14・・・・14間に導入されるため、汚水汚物中に混在している繊維状、紐状の異物が締着部材6や羽根板内縁9に絡み付くことはない。

本発明では、簡潔な付加構成により、揚水性能を左程低下させることなく、繊維状、紐状異物の絡み付きによる羽根車入口部の閉塞を防止することができ、従来のように手数の掛る清掃作業が不要となり、また、スクリーン装置等の補機設備も必要がなくなるため、設備費およびランニングコストを軽減し得るという利点がある。
