【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、例えば光ディスク等の記録媒体に記録された情報を光学的に読み取る際に使用する光ピックアップを構成する対物レンズをレンズホルダに位置決め固定する接着方法およびその接着装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
光ピックアップに構成される対物レンズと対物レンズを保持するレンズホルダは所定の方向に位置決めされ接着剤により固定されている。以下に、従来の対物レンズとレンズホルダの位置決め接着する固定方法を、図9および図10を用いて説明する。

図9は従来例の説明に用いる対物レンズの概略図で、(a)は平面図、(b)はC−C断面図である。図10は従来例の説明に用いるレンズホルダの概略図で、(a)は平面図、(b)はD−D断面図である。

100は対物レンズで、半導体レーザチップから出射され、例えば立ち上げミラーで対物レンズ100方向へ反射したレーザビームを、光ディスクの信号記録面に1μm程度の径のビームスポットに収束させるレンズである。しかし、レーザ光源から出射されたレーザビーム径が、一定の方向へ偏った楕円形状になるので、これを円形状に補正する必要がある。そのために対物レンズ100の球面の1方向(レーザビーム径の楕円形状方向に対応させた方向)には、曲率の異なる球面が形成されている。この曲率の異なる球面形成方向の目印として対物レンズ100のフランジ部101(接着固定面の反対側面)に、レンズアスマーク102(幅約0.1mm×高さ0.02mm凸部)が形成されている。対物レンズ100は、レンズアスマーク102を目印にしてレンズホルダ110の所定の位置に接着固定される。

レンズホルダ110で、対物レンズ100を位置決めし接着固定するレンズ挿入穴111(対物レンズ100の外径が勘入する方形の穴)と、レンズ挿入穴111の図示左右2方向に対物レンズ100のレンズアスマーク102との位置決部112(溝)が形成されている。そして、レンズ挿入穴111の中心にはレーザビームが通る円孔113が形成されている。また、レンズ挿入穴111の外周部の両側面の縦方向には、フォーカス方向の位置調整コイルを巻くフォーカスコイル巻回部114が、また、対物レンズ100の外周の方向にはトラッキング方向の位置調整コイル等を巻くトラッキングコイル巻回部115等が形成されている。レンズホルダ100は、左右に上下2本ずつ4本のサスペンションワイヤにより弾性的に保持されており、固定側となるシャーシも兼ねた鉄等の磁性体で形成されたヨークに固定されたマグネットからなる磁気回路により、光ディスク再生時にビームスポットが光ディスクの信号記録面の所定の位置を追従するように、対物レンズ100が保持されたレンズホルダ110をフォーカス方向とトラッキング方向の位置調整制御が行われる。レンズホルダ110の材料には樹脂材が用いられ成形加工により形成される。

次に、レンズとレンズホルダの位置決めと接着方法を説明する。

先ず、拡大鏡または顕微鏡等の下方に設けられたレンズホルダ110の固定治具に、レンズホルダ110を水平な状態に固定する。次に、レンズトレイから吸着ピンセット等により対物レンズ100を吸着し、レンズホルダ110のレンズ挿入穴111に挿入する。そして、拡大鏡または顕微鏡を見ながらレンズホルダ110の位置決部112と、対物レンズ100に形成された位置合わせのレンズアスマーク102とを人手により位置を合わせる。その後に、接着剤塗布ユニットの吐出部を作業者が持ち所定の位置(レンズ挿入穴111の角部)に塗布する。次に、接着剤で仮止めされたレンズホルダ110を紫外線照射部に移動させ、スタート釦を押し所定の時間紫外線を照射して接着剤を硬化させる。そして、接着剤が硬化すれば対物レンズ100が固定されたレンズホルダ110を取り出す。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、上述のレンズホルダ110に対物レンズ100を位置決め固定する接着方法では、対物レンズ100の位置合わせの目印となるレンズアスマーク102を、レンズホルダ110の位置決部112に位置決めするのに、レンズアスマーク102と位置決部112を拡大鏡または顕微鏡を用いて人手により位置合わせを行っている。しかし、このような作業方法では作業効率が悪く、また、作業者の技量の差により位置合わせの品質にばらつきが発生し易い。その他に、位置決めした対物レンズ100とレンズホルダ110を固定するために接着剤120を塗布するが、この作業では接着剤塗布ユニットの吐出部を作業者が持ち所定の位置に塗布している。この作業でも、接着剤の吐出量と接着位置のばらつきが発生し易く、作業効率が悪く接着品質においてもばらつきが発生し易いという問題がある。

本発明は上述の問題を解決するもので、接着品質と作業効率のよいレンズとレンズホルダの位置決め接着方法およびその接着装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上述の目的を達成するもので、光ディスクに記録されたデータを光学的に読みとるための光ピックアップを構成するレンズと該レンズを保持するレンズホルダとを位置決め固定する光ピックアップのレンズ固定方法において、前記レンズには、位置決マークが表示されたフランジ部が形成され、前記レンズホルダには、前記レンズを固定するレンズ固定部と、該レンズ固定部の外周部に前記位置決マークの位置決め基準となる位置決部が形成されており、前記レンズ固定部に仮置きされたレンズを該レンズ固定部から離脱させると共に、該レンズを回転させて前記位置決マークを前記位置決部に合わせ、該レンズを該固定部に再度挿入後に接着固定することを特徴とするものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の第1の実施の形態を図1乃至図5を用いて説明する。

図1は対物レンズの概略図で、(a)は平面図、(b)はA−A断面図である。図2はレンズホルダの概略図で、(a)は平面図、(b)はB−B断面図である。図3は本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る対物レンズ接着装置を示す概略構成図である。図4は本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る対物レンズ位置合わせ治具の概略構成を示す正面断面図である。図5は本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る対物レンズとレンズホルダの位置合わせ状態を示す要部の平面図で、(a)は対物レンズ挿入状態、(b)は対物レンズ位置決め後、(c)は接着剤塗布後である。

先ず最初に本発明の対称となる対物レンズ(レンズに相当)とレンズホルダについて図1及び図2を用いて簡単に説明する。

10は対物レンズで、光磁気ホログラムユニット20内の光源(半導体レーザチップ)から出射され、例えば立ち上げミラーで直角方向(対物レンズ10方向)へ反射したレーザビームを、光ディスクの信号記録面に1μm程度の径のビームスポットに収束させるレンズである。しかし、レーザ光源から出射されたレーザビーム径が、一定の方向へ偏った楕円形状になるので、これを円形状に補正する必要がある。そのために対物レンズ10の球面の1方向(レーザビーム径の楕円形状方向に対応させた方向)には、曲率の異なる球面が形成されている。この曲率の異なる球面形成方向の目印として対物レンズ10のフランジ部11(接着固定面の反対側面)に、レンズアスマーク12(幅約0.1mm×高さ0.02mm凸部)が形成されている。対物レンズ10は、レンズアスマーク12を目印にしてレンズホルダ14の所定の位置に接着固定される。尚、対物レンズ10で収束されたレーザビームは、光ディスクの信号記録面で反射し、信号をもったレーザビームとなり同じ光道を通ってホログラムユニットに戻ってくる。そして、光電変換素子に達し電気信号に変換されて取り出される。

レンズホルダ14は、対物レンズ10を位置決めし接着固定するレンズ挿入穴15(対物レンズ10の外径が勘入する方形の穴)と、レンズ挿入穴15の図示左右2方向に対物レンズ10のレンズアスマーク12との位置決部16(溝)が形成されている。そして、レンズ挿入穴15の中心にはレーザビームが通る円孔17が形成されている。また、レンズ挿入穴15の外周部の両側面の縦方向には、フォーカス方向の位置調整コイルを巻くフォーカスコイル巻回部18が、また、対物レンズ10の外周の方向にはトラッキング方向の位置調整コイルを巻くトラッキングコイル巻回部19等が形成されている。レンズホルダ14は、左右に上下2本ずつ4本のサスペンションワイヤにより弾性的に保持されており、固定側となるシャーシも兼ねた鉄等の磁性体で形成されたヨークに固定されたマグネットからなる磁気回路により、光ディスク再生時にビームスポットが光ディスクの信号記録面の所定の位置を追従するように、対物レンズ10が保持されたレンズホルダ14をフォーカス方向とトラッキング方向の位置調整制御が行われる。レンズホルダ14の材料には樹脂材が用いられ成形加工により形成される。

次に、対物レンズ接着装置について図3、図4及び図5を用いて説明する。

移動機構部25は、水平面のX軸方向へ移動するX軸テーブル26と水平面でX軸方向と直交するY軸方向へ移動するY軸テーブル27からなるX−Yテーブルの上方に垂直上下方向へ移動可能なZ軸テーブル28を有する機構部である。X軸テーブル26、Y軸テーブル27およびZ軸テーブル28には、ボールねじとパルスモータが組み込まれており、制御部65のメモリに予め記憶されたプログラムの指令により各軸の移動距離および移動のタイミング等が正確に制御される。

レンズアスマーク検出部30は、CCDカメラ、モニター画像表示部(TV)および画像処理部(パーソナルコンピュータ)等により構成されている。レンズアスマーク検出部30は、レンズホルダ14に挿入された対物レンズ10の位置関係(位置決部16とレンズアスマーク12との位置)を、CCDカメラ31でとらえ対物レンズ10のレンズアスマーク12の現状位置と、レンズホルダ14の位置決部16までの最短位置を認識し、レンズアスマーク12とレンズホルダ14の位置決部16までのずれの回転角度を算出しする。そして、そのずれの回転角度に対応したパルス信号を位置合わせ治具35の回転機構50のパルスモータに指令する。また、レンズアスマーク12と位置決部16との位置決め後(接着前)に、再度レンズアスマーク12と位置決部16との位置確認を行う。

位置合わせ治具35は、レンズホルダ位置決板37、上下移動機構40、回転機構50および真空発生機等により構成されており、治具ベース67に組み込まれている。位置合わせ治具35は、X−YテーブルのY軸テーブ27の上に取付られている。

レンズホルダ位置決板37は、レンズホルダ14の外周が嵌入する方形の位置決穴38が形成されており、位置決穴38の中心部にはレンズホルダ14のレーザビームが通る円孔17よりやや大きい円孔39が形成されている。レンズホルダ位置決板37は、治具ベース67の上面板に取付られている。

上下移動機構40は、対物レンズ10を吸着固定して上下方向へ移動し、対物レンズ10の位置調整をする時に対物レンズ10を上方向へ移動させ、レンズホルダ14から離脱させて回転させる機構部で、上下移動パイプ41および上下駆動部45等により構成されている。

上下移動パイプ41の上部先端部には対物レンズ10を吸着固定する保持部となる座繰穴42が形成され、下端部は真空発生機(図示省略)に接続されている。上下移動パイプ41の中間部には軸芯に対して直角2方向に軸43が圧入されており、軸43の端部には上下移動パイプ41が回転する際に、回転をスムーズにするためのローラ44(ベアリング)が取り付けられている。上下移動パイプ41の外径寸法は、回転機構50の回転パイプ51の内径に係合するように形成されている。

上下駆動部45は、上下移動パイプ41に固定された軸43のローラ44に係合し、上下移動パイプ41を上下方向へ移動させると共に、上下移動パイプ41が回転する時にローラ44のガイドとなる機構で、ローラガイド46およびエアシリンダ47等により構成されている。ローラガイド46は、正面形状がコ型形状をしており、コ型の上下板でローラ44を保持している。ローラガイド46はエアシリンダ47に固定されている。

回転機構50は、上下移動パイプ41を回転させるウォーム機構で、回転パイプ51およびウォーム52等により構成されている。

ウォーム52の軸はパルスモータ(図示省略)に接続されており、対物レンズ10の位置調整(対物レンズ10を回転)をする時に、レンズアスマーク検出部30により算出されたパルス信号に基づいて回転する。そして、ウォーム52に歯合したウォーム歯車53を回転させ、回転機構50の回転パイプ51に係合した、上下移動パイプ41を回転させる。

接着剤塗布ユニット56は、対物レンズ10とレンズホルダ14とが位置決めされた後に接着剤59(例えばアクリル系の紫外線硬化接着剤)を塗布する機構で、接着剤タンク57に接続して圧送部(図示省略)等が構成されている。接着剤タンク57の先端部には、塗布ノズル58が構成されており、移動機構部25のZ軸テーブル28に固定されている。接着剤塗布ユニット56はパーソナルコンピュータにより制御される。

紫外線照射ユニット60は、接着剤塗布ユニット56により塗布された接着剤59に紫外線を照射して硬化させるもので、紫外線を発生させる紫外線発生器(ランプ)と、発生した紫外線を塗布された接着剤59の照射位置まで導光するグラスファイバーケーブル61とグラスファイバーケーブル61の先端部に接続された紫外線照射ノズル62等により構成されている。

制御部65は、対物レンズ接着装置20に構成される移動機構部25、レンズアスマーク検出部30、位置合わせ治具35、接着剤塗布ユニット56、紫外線照射ユニット60等の位置、タイミング、時間および結果の判定等を予め入力されたプログラムに基づいて対物レンズ接着装置20全体を制御するものである。制御部65には例えばパーソナルコンピュータ等が用いられる。

次に、対物レンズとレンズホルダの位置決め接着方法について説明する。

レンズホルダ位置決板37の位置決穴38にレンズホルダ14を挿入する。次に、レンズトレイから吸着ピンセット等により対物レンズ10を吸着し、レンズホルダ14のレンズ挿入穴15に挿入する。そして、対物レンズ接着装置20を稼働させると、上下移動パイプ41の下端部に接続された真空発生機の稼働により、上下移動パイプ41の上部先端部の座繰穴42に置かれた対物レンズ10が吸着固定される。次に、移動機構部25のY軸テーブル27がレンズアスマーク検出部30のCCDカメラ31の下方まで移動する。次に、CCDカメラ31でとらえた対物レンズ10のレンズアスマーク12の位置を画像認識装置が検出し、位置決部16までの角度、即ちレンズアスマーク12と近い方の位置決部16までの角度θを認識する。次に、上下駆動部のエアシリンダ47が働き上下移動パイプ41を上昇させ、対物レンズ10をレンズホルダ14から離脱させる。この状態で、ウォーム52に接続したパルスモータに必要回転角度分のパルスが送られ、ウォーム52が所定の角度回転する。これによりウォーム52に歯合した回転パイプ51が回転するので、回転パイプ51の長孔54に係合した軸43と一緒に上下移動パイプ41も回転する。そして、上下移動パイプ41が所定の角度まで回転すると、エアシリンダ47が働き上下移動パイプ41を元の位置まで下げる。次に、レンズアスマーク12が位置決部16の位置決許容範囲内にあることを画像認識装置により確認する。もし位置合わせが不十分の場合には調整を繰り返す。また、位置合わせが位置決許容範囲内にある場合には、対物レンズ10とレンズホルダ14を接着剤塗布ユニット56の下方まで、Y軸テーブル27によりを移動させる。そして、図5の(d)に示すように接着位置が4箇所ある場合には、Y軸テーブル27とX軸テーブル26を移動させ、所定の接着位置に位置決めし、Z軸テーブル28を上下させて接着剤59を塗布する。次に、接着剤59が塗布された対物レンズ10とレンズホルダ14をY軸テーブル27により紫外線照射ユニット60の下方まで移動させる。そして、接着剤59の塗布部に紫外線を照射する。次に、接着剤59の硬化が完了すると、Y軸テーブル27をCCDカメラ31の下方まで移動させ、接着状態(接着剤の量および接着位置等)を確認した後に、Y軸テーブル27が原点に戻る。そして、対物レンズ10とレンズホルダ14が接着されたレンズユニットを作業者が取り出す。

以上説明したように本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る対物レンズ接着装置20によれば、対物レンズ10とレンズホルダ14との位置決めおよび接着の一連の作業が自動化され、位置決めおよび接着品質のばらつきがなくなり品質の向上と、作業の効率化によるコストダウンが図れる。その他に、自動化することにより未熟練作業者でも熟練作業者と同じように作業することができるので作業者の配分等が容易になる。
