Description
【0001】
<具体例1>
<具体例2>

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is suitable for use in a flue gas treatment apparatus for removing sulfur oxide (SOx) in exhaust gas discharged from, for example, a boiler, a gas turbine, an engine, an incinerator, or the like that burns fuel such as coal or heavy oil. The present invention relates to an activated carbon fiber activation method.
[0002]
[Background]
Conventionally, as a method for removing sulfur oxides in exhaust gas, a lime-gypsum method has been employed in which limestone or slaked lime slurry is used as an absorbent and the sulfur content in the exhaust gas is recovered as gypsum. As another method, an adsorption method using dry activated carbon is known.
[0003]
In the above conventional lime-gypsum method, limestone or slaked lime slurry is sprayed into the exhaust gas, whereby the exhaust gas is humidified and cooled and SOx is absorbed simultaneously. For this reason, it is necessary to circulate a large amount of slurry, and power for circulating the slurry and a large amount of water are required.
[0004]
On the other hand, in the case of the dry method, a large amount of heat is required to desorb the sulfur adsorbed on the activated carbon by heating. Moreover, in this method, disposal of the produced dilute sulfuric acid, wear of the adsorbent, and the like become problems. Therefore, desulfurization that does not require a sulfur oxide absorbent or large equipment, can obtain high concentration sulfuric acid during desulfurization, and produces gypsum with low power using the same equipment as the lime gypsum method. The appearance of equipment is desired.
[0005]
For this reason, as a device for removing SOx in the exhaust gas, SOx in the exhaust gas is adsorbed on a porous carbon material such as activated carbon fiber, and the sulfur component is generated by oxygen contained in the exhaust gas by utilizing the catalytic action of the porous carbon material. It has been proposed to oxidize and remove it from the porous carbon material as sulfuric acid by absorbing it (see JP-A-11-347350).
[0006]
This activated carbon fiber is fired at a high temperature (1000 to 1200 ° C. or 1200 ° C. or higher) in an inert gas, and therefore a high temperature furnace is required, and there is a problem that the apparatus and the manufacturing cost are bulky.
In addition, since the carbon skeleton volatilizes at the same time during firing, there is a problem that the yield decreases.
[0007]
In view of the above problems, an object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing activated carbon fibers that is easy to produce activated carbon fibers and that has high activation efficiency.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
1st invention exists in the activation method of the activated carbon fiber characterized by irradiating an activated carbon fiber with an ultraviolet-ray in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere.
[0013]
The second aspect, in the first aspect, in reproducing the activation process of the active carbon fibers, wherein said activated carbon fiber is spent activated carbon fiber.
[0014]
A third invention is an activated carbon fiber produced by the method of the first or second invention.
[0015]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Embodiments according to the present invention will be described below, but the present invention is not limited to these embodiments.
[0016]
The carbon fiber activation method of the present invention involves firing the carbon fiber in a reducing atmosphere within a temperature range of 1,100 ° C. or lower. The lower the firing temperature, the more the apparatus and running costs can be reduced, but no increase in the active sites was observed at 200 ° C. or lower.
Moreover, a desirable processing temperature is 500-1000 degreeC, and a more desirable processing temperature is 600-800 degreeC.
[0017]
Thus, the catalytic performance of the activated carbon fiber is improved by performing the heat treatment in a reducing atmosphere. Further, it is not necessary to perform heat treatment at a high temperature of 1200 ° C. or higher, and the apparatus configuration can be simplified.
[0018]
The reducing atmosphere is preferably formed from a mixed gas of hydrogen and an inert gas.
[0019]
The hydrogen concentration is preferably below the explosion limit (4% or less).
[0020]
Further, the reducing atmosphere is preferably formed from carbon monoxide.
[0021]
Further, as an activation method other than heat treatment, the carbon fiber is irradiated with ultraviolet rays in a vacuum or an inert gas atmosphere.
Examples of the ultraviolet irradiation method include a method of reducing the pressure to about 0.1 atm with a diaphragm pump and irradiating the ultraviolet light with a halogen lamp or deuterium lamp. It is also possible to process at high vacuum using a rotary pump or a turbo molecular pump.
[0022]
Here, an example of the activated carbon fiber used in the present invention and an example of its production example are shown below.
Examples of the activated carbon fiber used in the present invention include pitch-based activated carbon fiber, polyacrylonitrile-based activated carbon fiber, phenol-based activated carbon fiber, and cellulose-based activated carbon fiber, but the present invention is limited to these. However, the activated carbon fibers exhibiting the above catalytic action are not limited in any way.
[0023]
Specific production examples are shown below.

While the catalyst prepared by the method of the present invention had a desulfurization rate of 32%, the catalyst obtained by calcining for 3 hours in the temperature range of 1200 ° C. in the nitrogen atmosphere using the same raw material had a desulfurization rate of 28% under the same conditions. %was.
<Specific example 2>
A polyacrylonitrile-based activated carbon fiber (“FX-600”, manufactured by Toho Rayon Co., Ltd.) is used, and this is fired in a hydrogen atmosphere within a temperature range of 900 to 1000 ° C. for 2 hours.
The adjusted catalyst was evaluated for desulfurization activity in a glass reaction tube. The conditions are a reaction temperature of 50 ° C., a catalyst amount of 0.2 g, a treatment gas amount of 200 mLN / min, an inlet SO 2 concentration of 1000 ppm, an oxygen concentration of 4%, a water concentration of 13%, and a nitrogen balance.
The catalyst prepared by the method of the present invention had a desulfurization rate of 25%, whereas the catalyst obtained by calcining the same raw material for 3 hours in a temperature range of 1200 ° C. in a nitrogen atmosphere had a desulfurization rate of 20 under the same conditions. %was.
[0024]
Moreover, you may make it regenerate | regenerate in the said reducing atmosphere the catalyst which activity deteriorated by using in a desulfurization apparatus.
