Description
The present invention relates to a magnetic sensor mechanism that detects the state of a magnetic field such as the presence / absence, direction, and change of a magnetic field, and a rotational state detection device using the magnetic sensor mechanism.
In recent years, in the fields of recording media, sensors, switching elements, and the like, a detection technique using a magnetic sensor for detecting a change in a magnetic field has been widely put into practical use and attracting attention. Many detection devices using conventional magnetic sensors place electromagnetic waves in a state where a plurality of permanent magnets are arranged (the magnetic poles of adjacent magnets are alternately arranged) and moved relative to the detection unit. The change of the current value of the current generated by the electromagnetic induction action is detected as a change of the magnetic field, or an electromagnet is arranged instead of arranging a plurality of permanent magnets, and the change of the magnetic pole in the electromagnet is made permanent. Similar to the case of the magnet, it is detected as a change in the current value.
However, the conventional magnetic sensor mechanism as described above requires a magnetizing ring having a special configuration in which the N pole region and the S pole region are alternately magnetized along the circumferential direction. The structure becomes complicated. Further, in order to improve the detection accuracy of the rotation angle, it is necessary to increase the number of magnets to be arranged. In such a case, the structure is further complicated.
In addition, since a change in the magnetic field is detected, the change can be detected if the magnetic field continues to change, but where there is no change in the magnetic field, for example, when the rotating body is stopped, where it stops. The rotation position cannot be detected.
In addition, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 5-273059 proposes a device that detects a change in magnetic permeability when light is applied to a detection medium by applying a magnetic Kerr effect or a Faraday effect. This detection apparatus applies a phenomenon in which when a medium having a magnetic Kerr effect or a Faraday effect is irradiated with linearly polarized light, the plane of polarization of reflected or transmitted light is rotated depending on the presence or absence of a magnetic field. However, this detector has a complicated structure, such as a polarizing plate (polarizer) required for detecting the rotation of reflected light or transmitted light in order to change the light to be irradiated into linearly polarized light. There is a problem. In addition, since the torque is measured by detecting a change in permeability due to the distortion of the magnetic field, for example, a change in the direction of the magnetic field cannot be detected. Further, as an example of detecting the change in the direction of the magnetic field with light, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-231516 can be cited, but the direction of the magnetic field itself cannot be specified. As described above, the conventional detection device cannot actually detect the direction of the magnetic field itself.
The present invention has been made in view of the actual situation as described above, and its main purpose is to detect the magnetic field direction (application direction of the external magnetic field) while having a simple device configuration, and Another object of the present invention is to provide a magnetic sensor mechanism capable of directly detecting a magnetic field direction even in a state where the change in the magnetic field direction has stopped, and a rotation state detection device using the magnetic sensor mechanism.

In the present invention, the rotating body is a steering shaft.
Here, the principle content of the present invention will be described as follows. First, the present inventors apply light to a metal nitride layer (preferably a layer containing iron nitride such as Fe 4 N) placed in a magnetic field (in this case, the incident angle and reflection angle of light are fixed). ) And found that the intensity of light reflected from the metal nitride layer changes according to the direction of the magnetic field (Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2001, 11, 3154-3157, presenting an example of Fe 4 N thin film) ). The present invention provides a novel magnetic sensor mechanism and rotational motion detection device based on such knowledge.
In other words, the magnetic sensor mechanism of the present invention enables the detection of the magnetic field direction, which has been difficult until now, with an accurate and simple structure by utilizing the relationship between the direction of the external magnetic field and the intensity of the reflected light from the metal nitride layer. Furthermore, the rotational state detection device of the present invention uses this magnetic sensor mechanism to detect the rotational position and state of a rotating body (such as a mechanical part) with a simple structure with high accuracy. It is what makes it possible.
The present invention described in
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the angle (incident angle) formed between the incident light from the light emitting portion and the surface including the Fe 4 N thin film is set to 15 to 75 degrees. Since the change in the intensity of the reflected light from the detection body can be obtained with a sufficiently large angle, the sensitivity of the magnetic sensor mechanism can be improved.
According to the third aspect of the present invention, the angle (incident angle) formed between the incident light from the light emitting portion and the surface including the Fe 4 N thin film is set to 45 to 60 degrees. By setting the angle appropriately, the change in the intensity of the reflected light from the detection body can be obtained sufficiently larger, so that the sensitivity of the magnetic sensor mechanism can be further improved.
The present invention according to
According to the fifth aspect of the present invention, a rotating body that rotates about a rotating shaft is provided with a magnetic generator so that the magnetic field direction rotates about the rotating shaft. Since the magnetic sensor mechanism of the present invention is arranged on the rotating body, the rotating state of the rotating body can be detected by the magnetic sensor mechanism only by adopting a simple configuration in which the rotating body is provided with a magnetic generator. Therefore, it is possible to provide a rotation state detection device capable of performing the above.
In the sixth aspect of the present invention, since the rotating body is a steering shaft, the rotation state of the steering shaft, that is, the rotation state in which the steering angle can be accurately detected with a simple structure. A detection device can be provided.
Hereinafter, a magnetic sensor mechanism according to an embodiment of the present invention and a rotation state detection apparatus using the magnetic sensor mechanism will be described with reference to FIGS.
First, the structure of a
Thus, the
FIG. 2 shows a magnetic field application
In addition, as a manufacturing method of the Fe 4 N
印加した磁界の強さは、0.003T(テスラ)である。
FIG. 3 showing the characteristics of this metal nitride layer (Fe 4 N thin film) was obtained by the following measuring method.
Measurement Method As shown in FIG. 2, a laser irradiator was used as a means for irradiating light (light emitting unit 2), and an argon laser was irradiated. The incident angle θ of the argon laser was 45 degrees with respect to the surface of the magnetic nitride layer (Fe 4 N thin film 12). Further, as the
In the magnetic field application
On the other hand, the surface formed by the metal nitride layer (for example, the surface formed by the Fe 4 N thin film 12) S 1 causes a change in the magnetic field direction H ′ when the external magnetic field H to be detected changes (magnetic field direction H It is necessary to arrange so that S 2 intersects the surface where 'changes. This is because when the surface S 1 formed by the metal nitride layer and the surface S 2 that causes a change in the magnetic field direction when the external magnetic field changes are coincident or parallel, the intensity of the light reflected from the
Such a phenomenon was confirmed by the following measurement method.
Measurement Method As shown in FIG. 4, the positional relationship between the surface S 1 formed by the Fe 4 N
Further, the incident angle θ (see FIGS. 1 and 2) formed by the
Measuring Method of Incident Angle θ In the same apparatus configuration as in FIG. 2, the application angle α of the external magnetic field H to the surface S 1 of the Fe 4 N
For the incident angle θ was to experiment, the angle of incidence θ is the case in the range of 15 to 75 degrees, the intensity change of the reflected light 6b which is reflected from the surface S 1 of the
The
A
According to the rotation
The above description has been made taking the rotation of the steering
