Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electronic component mounting apparatus and a tape feeder that pick up an electronic component from a tape feeder and mount it on a substrate.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A tape feeder is known as an electronic component supply device in an electronic component mounting apparatus. This tape feeder supplies an electronic component to a pickup position by a transfer head by intermittently feeding a tape holding the electronic component. The electronic component is held in a state of being accommodated in a pocket provided on the tape, and the upper surface of the pocket is covered with a top tape so that the electronic component in the pocket is prevented from popping out. Then, before the tape is sent to the pickup position, the top tape is peeled off from the upper surface of the tape, thereby picking up the electronic component exposed in the pocket by the transfer head.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, along with miniaturization of electronic devices, miniaturization of electronic components such as semiconductor chips is progressing. For this reason, the behavior of the electronic components when the tape is held and pitch fed becomes unstable compared to the conventional one, and when the top tape is peeled off, the posture in the pocket may be disturbed or jumped out of the pocket by a slight force. Abnormal operation is likely to occur. Due to these causes, normal suction by the suction nozzle cannot be performed and a pickup error may occur.
[0004]
One of the causes of such a problem is an electrostatic force of electric charges charged on the top tape peeling site. The top tape is a resin tape such as polyester, and a resin film is also formed on the upper surface of the electronic component in the pocket. For this reason, the electronic component and the top tape are rubbed against each other during pitch feeding of the tape, and the top tape is charged by this friction. When the top tape is peeled off, an external force that lifts the electronic component in the peeling direction of the top tape acts by this electrostatic force. However, in the conventional tape feeder, no consideration is given to the electrostatic force at the tape peeling site, and when a small electronic component is to be supplied as described above, it is easy to induce a pickup mistake by the electrostatic force. was there.
[0005]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an electronic component mounting apparatus and a tape feeder that can prevent electrification at a top tape peeling site and reduce pickup errors.

According to the present invention, the top tape covering the upper surface of the tape is folded back at the front end of the shutter member that opens and closes the upper space of the tape at the pickup position, thereby charging the top tape peeling site where the top tape is peeled off from the tape. Since the static elimination means for removing the electric charge is provided, the electrostatic force does not act on the electronic component when the top tape is peeled off, and abnormal operation due to the electrostatic force can be prevented.

[0027]
As described above, in the electronic component mounting apparatus and tape feeder for picking up an electronic component held on a tape from a tape feeder and mounting it on a substrate, the present invention eliminates a problem when picking up the electronic component caused by charging of the top tape. This is prevented by removing the charge at the top tape peeling site where the top tape is peeled off. Since the top tape peeling portion is in the vicinity of the pickup position, the removal of the charge at this portion is extremely effective for preventing the above-described problems. As a result, even in the case where the target is a micro-part that has an effect of electrostatic force that does not need to be considered in the past, the electronic part can be supplied without any trouble.
[0028]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the top tape covering the upper surface of the tape is folded back at the front end of the shutter member that opens and closes the upper space of the tape at the pickup position, thereby charging the top tape peeling site where the top tape is peeled off from the tape. Since the static elimination means for removing the electric charge is provided, the electrostatic force does not act on the electronic component when the top tape is peeled off, and abnormal operation due to the electrostatic force can be prevented.
