本発明は、高速道路等の分岐部のガードレール端部に設置する端部緩衝装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
図10に示すような高速道路等の分岐部や中央分離帯、安全地帯等に設置するガードレール3、4の先端部には、運転を誤った車両が衝突することがあるため、端部緩衝装置を設置して、人および車両の保護を図っている。

端部緩衝装置には、車両衝突時の衝突エネルギーを吸収する機能が要求され、種々の構成のものが実用化されている。例えば、特公昭60−5725号公報、特公昭60−6410号公報、特公平4−20041号公報、特公平7−103539号公報、および特開平9−189014号公報には、部材を入れ子式に摺動させる構造の端部緩衝装置が開示されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
これらは、いずれも部材が入れ子式に摺動しながら変形することにより衝突エネルギーを吸収するものであるが、車両衝突後の部材の摺動方向を制御できなかったり、構造が複雑であったりする問題があった。

そこで本発明者は、簡単な構造で車両衝突後の部材の摺動方向を制御することのできるものとして図9に示す端部緩衝装置を発明し、特願平11−265374号として出願している。

この端部緩衝装置は、車両衝突時に摺動ビーム6〜9が所定の方向に摺動しながら円弧プレート15〜19が変形し、車両衝突時のエネルギーを吸収することができるものであり、従来のものと比べて安全性が向上するため、すでに実際に設置されている。

しかしながら、前記端部緩衝装置においても、衝突速度100km/hという高速で車両が衝突した場合には、必ずしも十分なエネルギー吸収能を発揮できないおそれがあることが明らかになった。すなわち、衝突速度100km/hのシミュレーションを実施した結果、両側の摺動ビーム6〜9が内側に押し込まれる曲げ変形を起こしてしまい、摺動ビーム6〜9が所定の方向に摺動しないため、円弧プレート15〜19の変形により衝突エネルギーを吸収するという所期の機能が発揮されないおそれがあるという問題点が明らかとなった。

そこで本発明は、上記問題点を解決し、摺動ビームが所定の方向に確実に摺動し、円弧プレートの変形により確実に衝突エネルギーを吸収することのできる端部緩衝装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明の端部緩衝装置は、以下の(1)〜(4)の通りである。

(1)略ハの字状で末広がりに配置された二つのガードレールの互いの先端部が狭まっている側の端部に設置される端部緩衝装置において、前記両ガードレールに摺動自在に摺動ビームを係止配置し、該摺動ビームの最先端部に巻軸ビームを備えるとともに前記各摺動ビームに適宜間隔で分離支柱を設け、前記両摺動ビームの対応する前記分離支柱間に車両衝突時における両分離支柱間の収縮を防止する伸張自在な間隔材を配置し、前記両摺動ビーム間を適宜間隔で円弧プレートで連結し、各円弧プレートの中央部に摺動支柱を設け、その摺動支柱の下端部を基礎部に固定したガイドレールで摺動ビームの摺動方向に沿って摺動自在に保持したことを特徴とする端部緩衝装置。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図示の例を参照しながら、本発明の端部緩衝装置について詳細に説明する。

図10は本発明の端部緩衝装置を設置するガードレールの端部を示す平面図(同図(a))および側面図(同図(b))であり、図1は同箇所に設置した本発明の端部緩衝装置の例を示す平面図(同図(a))および側面図(同図(b))である。

本発明の端部緩衝装置は、高速道路の分岐部や中央分離帯、安全地帯等のように、二つのガードレールの端部が車両の進行方向に対向している箇所に設置する。図10は、高速道路の分岐部において、一方の道路1と他方の道路2の各道路に沿って設けられた二つのガードレール3、4の端部を示す。高速道路では、ガードレール3、4の端部から縁石5がさらに外方に延在しているのが一般的であるが、これは本発明において必須のものではない。また、この例では、両ガードレールは端部ほど間隔が狭まっているが、両ガードレールが平行の場合も本発明の端部緩衝装置を設置することができる。

図1に示す本発明の端部緩衝装置では、まず、各ガードレール3、4の先端部に、各ガードレール3、4に沿って摺動自在に摺動ビーム6〜9を係止配置する。図2に摺動ビームの側面図(同図(a))および端面図(同図(b))の例を示す。この例では、摺動ビーム6にはガードレール3、4と同じ二山ビームを用い、摺動ビーム6の後方(ガードレール側)の隣接するガードレールまたは隣接する他の摺動ビームと重なる部分の上下端部に、ガイドレールまたは隣接する摺動ビームに係止、摺動するための爪部材25を固設してある。車両衝突時には、この爪部材25をガイドにして、摺動ビーム6〜9がガードレールまたは後方に隣接する摺動ビームに沿って後退摺動する。なお、後退摺動のための他の摺動機構の態様としては、摺動ビームおよびガードレールの同一高さ位置に横長の孔を設け、摺動ビーム相互または摺動ビームとガードレールを重設してボルト・ナットで結合することも可能である。また、図1に示す例では、摺動ビームは各側2枚ずつとなっているが、必要に応じてこの枚数は増減可能である。

摺動ビームの最先端部には、巻袖ビーム10を備える。そして、各摺動ビーム6〜9に適宜間隔で分離支柱11〜14を設ける。分離支柱というのは、土中に埋設固定した支柱基礎の上端に、車両衝突時の衝撃力により離脱可能に連結した支柱である。たとえば、図7の左端の分離支柱26のように、分離支柱26と支柱基礎27のフランジ28、29どうしを突き合わせ、車両衝突時の衝撃力により剪断破壊する程度の強度のボルト・ナットで結合しておけばよい。車両が衝突した場合には、ボルト・ナットの剪断破壊により車両衝突のエネルギーを吸収するとともに、分離支柱26の下端が支柱基礎27の上端から離脱して、摺動ビームの摺動を可能にする。

両摺動ビームの対応する分離支柱、たとえば分離支柱11と分離支柱13との間には、車両衝突時における両分離支柱間の間隔の収縮を防止する間隔材34を配置する。間隔材34は、具体的には、長さが収縮しないものにすることにより、車両の衝突時に分離支柱間の間隔の収縮を防止し、摺動ビームが内側に押し込まれるのを防止する。

両側の摺動ビームが平行に摺動する場合は、間隔材は単に長さが収縮しないものであればよく、鋼管や形鋼等を用いることができる。しかし、図1に示すように、両側の摺動ビームが摺動するにつれて間隔が広がっていく場合には、両側の分離支柱間の間隔も広がるため、間隔材としては、単に長さが収縮しないだけでなく、伸長自在であることが要求される。図3、4に、伸長自在な間隔材の例を示す。

図3(a)の平面図、(b)の側面図、(c)の正面図に示すものは、角形鋼管35内に断面コの字形の形鋼36を差し込んで固定したものである。この形鋼36を、鋼管35と同じ断面寸法で対応する分離支柱に取り付ける鋼管37内に差し込んでいくと、最終的には鋼管35と鋼管37とが接触し、これ以上間隔材34が収縮しない状態になるので、この状態で分離支柱11と分離支柱13との間に配置する。このような構成の間隔材34を分離支柱11と分離支柱13との間に配置しておけば、車両衝突時にも分離支柱11と分離支柱13との間隔が狭められることを防止でき、したがって、摺動ビームが内側に押し込まれ曲げ変形を起こすこともない。そして、間隔材34は図3(d)に示すように伸長は自在であるため、摺動につれて両側の摺動ビームの間隔が広がっていく動きに追従することができ、所定の方向への摺動を妨害することもない。

これらの他、形鋼を摺動自在に組み合わせる等、間隔材の構成としては種々のものが考えられるが、要は車両衝突時に収縮することを防止し、摺動ビームの所定の方向への摺動を妨げない構成のものであれば本発明に使用することが可能である。

摺動ビーム6、7と摺動ビーム8、9との間は適宜間隔をおいて円弧プレート15〜19で連結する。図5に円弧プレート17の平面図(同図(a))、側面図(同図(b))、背面図(同図(c))を示すが、金属板を円弧状に折り曲げたものである。この円弧プレート17の中央部は、後述する摺動支柱で支えるとともに、円弧プレート17の両端部は、図6に平面図(同図(a))および端面図(同図(b))を示すように、摺動ビーム8、9の分離支柱14の箇所で摺動ビーム9に固着しておく。車両衝突時には、摺動ビーム8、9が後方へ摺動するのに伴って円弧プレート17も後方へ移動しながら変形することにより、衝突のエネルギーを吸収する。図1に示す例では、円弧プレートは5枚設けてあるが、円弧プレートは、その枚数、厚みの組合せでエネルギー吸収能を設計できる。

各円弧プレートの中央部には摺動支柱20〜23を設け、その摺動支柱20〜23の下端部を基礎部に固定したガイドレール24で摺動ビーム6〜9の摺動方向に沿って摺動自在に保持する。この摺動支柱20〜23は、円弧プレート15〜19自体の重みや積雪荷重などにより円弧プレート15〜19が落下するのを防止すると同時に、車両衝突時に摺動ビーム6〜9が後退摺動する際、摺動ビーム6〜9の後退摺動に伴って円弧プレート15〜19も変形しながら後退することを可能にする。円弧プレート15〜19を交互に向きを変えることによって、各円弧プレート15〜19は車両衝突時に確実に変形して衝突エネルギーを吸収する。

図7には、摺動支柱21およびガイドレール24の例を示す。車両の衝突の方向は必ずしも一定の方向とは限らないため、摺動ビーム6〜9が道路側へはみ出すような方向へ摺動しては困るので、ガイドレール24により摺動の方向を制御することにした。車両が衝突した場合にガードレール24自体が移動するのを防止するため、ガイドレール24の先端部と後端部は固設支柱30、31で地盤に強固に固設しておく。図8には図7に示す摺動支柱21のA−A矢視図を示すが、ガイドレール24の溝で摺動支柱21の水平面内の摺動方向を制御するだけでなく、摺動支柱21の下端にフランジ32を設けるとともにガイドレール24の両側板33の上端部を溝内側に突出させることにより、重心の低い車両が侵入した場合などに摺動支柱21が浮き上がってしまうことも防止できる。なお、この例は摺動支柱の下端部をガイドレール側の両側板で挟持する態様であるが、この他、ガイドレール側の上端に側方へ突出するフランジを設け、摺動支柱側の下端にこのフランジと係止する爪部材を設ける跨座式モノレール型の態様のものも採用可能である。

摺動ビームの最先端部に取り付けた巻袖ビーム10の支柱は、摺動支柱とすることもできるし分離支柱とすることもできる。図1に示したのは巻袖ビーム10および最先端の円弧ビーム15を摺動支柱20で支えた例であり、図7に示したのは、巻袖ビーム10および最先端の円弧ビーム15を分離支柱26で支え、円弧プレート16およびそれより後方の円弧プレートを摺動支柱で支える場合の支柱の配置の例である。巻袖ビームを支える支柱を分離支柱としたほうが、最先端部でボルト・ナットの剪断破壊の分だけ衝突エネルギーを吸収することができる。

【発明の効果】
本発明の端部緩衝装置は、従来のものに比べて簡単な構造でありながら、車両が100km/hという高速で衝突した場合でも、摺動ビームが内側に押し込まれて曲げ変形を起こすのを防止し、摺動ビームの摺動方向を所定の方向に制御しつつ円弧プレートが確実に変形して車両衝突時のエネルギーを吸収することができ、ガードレールおよびその内側に設置してある標識などの施設に破壊が及ぶのを防止することができる。
