Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention has a plurality of parallel ink channels separated by a partition wall of piezoelectric ceramics, and deforms the partition wall according to a voltage applied to a signal electrode formed on the inner wall of the ink channel. Accordingly, the present invention relates to an ink jet head (International Patent Classification B41J 3/10) which selectively causes ink filled in the ink channel to protrude from a nozzle hole communicating with the ink channel, and mutual interference between adjacent ink channels. The purpose is to suppress the above.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Inkjet printers are widely used for OA applications, and are used as output means for digital cameras for personal use. High image quality and high definition are required for the purpose of photographic printing, and head miniaturization and droplet controllability are required. ing. On the other hand, taking advantage of its function as a micromachine capable of ejecting fine ink droplets, it has attracted attention as an FA application, and a wide range of application fields are expected.
[0003]
FIG. 6A is a perspective view showing a configuration of a piezoelectric inkjet head as an example of the inkjet head. FIG. 6B is a longitudinal sectional view of the
[0004]
When drawing using such an inkjet head, particularly pattern printing, there are problems that ink droplets cannot be ejected simultaneously from adjacent nozzles, and that mutual interference occurs between adjacent nozzles. .
[0005]
As a method for solving such a problem, an air chamber called spacing is provided between adjacent nozzles as disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-377129, and no ink is put into the spacing, thereby reducing the density. A method has been proposed in which low-pressure air absorbs vibrations of the drive partition wall and suppresses the influence on adjacent nozzles.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the above-described conventional example is effective only for suppressing mutual interference due to the air chamber. As a result of actual experiments, all ink channel driving and one ink channel driving are performed under the same driving voltage. The discharge speed was different. Also, the deformation amount of the ink channel cross-sectional area based on the deformation of the driving partition wall by theoretical analysis is different between all ink channel driving and one ink channel driving, and the driving partition deformation amount is small during one ink channel driving. Proved to be.
[0007]
When a voltage is applied, the driving partition is deformed into a "<" shape and pulls the top sheet and the channel bottom. At this time, it is considered that there is a difference in the amount of deformation of the partition wall between the case of ejecting from all nozzles and the case of ejecting only one nozzle at the same drive voltage, and the change in actual droplet ejection speed is also affected.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, the ink jet recording apparatus of the present invention is provided with a non-driven support column in an air chamber between adjacent ink channels, and opens the base side or top sheet side surface of the air chamber. Accordingly, the object is to always make the ejection speed constant irrespective of the change in the number of ink channels driven under the same voltage. According to the present invention, it is possible to effectively suppress a change in ejection speed due to a difference in the number of drive ink channels, and it is possible to improve printing quality and printing speed.
[0009]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
According to a first aspect of the present invention, an ink jet head is provided between a drive partition that deforms according to a voltage applied to fill ink, a plurality of ink channels that are configured by the drive partition, and the ink channel. In the inkjet head formed by pasting a base made of a piezoelectric element integrally formed with the formed air chamber and a top sheet for covering the groove of the ink channel of the base, the air chamber is An inkjet head characterized in that it has a column having a length reaching the top sheet made from the base between the top sheet and the bottom of the air chamber. By making the movement of the driving partition equal when driving all ink channels and one ink channel, the change in discharge speed and discharge It is intended to reduce the amount change. In addition, since the distortion between materials due to heat does not occur in the manufacture of the head, the ink jet head can be manufactured with high accuracy.
