BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electric brake control circuit that obtains a predetermined braking force by controlling an electric motor, and more particularly to an improvement for obtaining an excellent initial brake response characteristic with a small electric motor.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Recent brakes for vehicles have been promoted to be equipped with various braking force control functions for improving operability such as an anti-lock brake system. Various types of electric brakes using an electric motor as a driving source of a braking mechanism have been developed in accordance with such intelligent brakes.
As this type of conventional electric brake, an electric motor whose output changes according to the supplied driving voltage, a braking mechanism that generates a braking force using the electric motor as a driving source, and a motor drive that outputs the driving voltage to the electric motor Various types of configurations having a circuit and a control unit for controlling the operation of the motor drive circuit have been developed.
[0003]
By the way, in the brake for vehicles, it is necessary to improve the starting characteristics of the electric motor so that the rising time of the braking force can be shortened when sudden braking, panic braking, or the like occurs.
Therefore, for example, a rare earth magnet is used for the electric motor to be used, or, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-118211, a dedicated battery for an electric brake is provided to increase the driving voltage of the electric motor. Has been planned.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, rare earth magnets are expensive, and there is a problem in that the cost of the brake system is increased.
In addition, the installation of the battery for exclusive use of the electric brake has a problem that the space occupied by the battery increases in the engine room and the like, which not only imposes pressure on the arrangement of other devices and apparatuses but also causes an increase in the vehicle weight. It was.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and it is possible to reduce the increase in vehicle weight at a low cost, and to improve the initial brake response characteristics corresponding to sudden braking and panic braking. An object of the present invention is to provide an electric brake control circuit that shortens the time.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, an electric brake control circuit according to the present invention includes an electric motor whose output changes according to a supplied drive voltage, a braking mechanism that generates a braking force using the electric motor as a drive source, In an electric brake control circuit comprising a motor drive circuit for outputting a drive voltage to the electric motor and a control unit for controlling the operation of the motor drive circuit, a boosting means for boosting the drive voltage supplied to the electric motor is provided. The control unit monitors the operation state of the brake and is in a sudden braking or panic braking in which the rate of change in the braking operation force is greater than a predetermined value, and the braking force output by the braking mechanism does not reach the maximum braking force. In this case, the boosting means is operated to increase the drive voltage supplied to the electric motor.
[0007]
And according to the said structure, the operating condition of a brake is monitored, and electric power is supplied to an electric motor by normal voltage control, without operating a pressure | voltage rise means at the time of normal brake operation. However, when the operating state of the brake is sudden braking or panic braking, the boosting means is operated to increase the drive voltage supplied to the electric motor, thereby improving the rising of the braking force at the beginning of braking.
[0008]
The boosting means is, for example, a small battery connected in series to the power circuit of the electric motor by opening / closing the open / close switch, or a capacitor connected in parallel to the power circuit and storing the power voltage Thus, it is inexpensive and can be reduced in size and weight.

【The invention's effect】
According to the electric brake control circuit of the present invention, the operation state of the brake is monitored, and during normal braking, the booster is not operated and power is supplied to the electric motor by normal drive voltage or current control. However, if the brake operating status corresponds to sudden braking or panic braking , and the braking force has not yet reached the maximum braking force , the booster is activated to reduce the drive voltage supplied to the electric motor. By temporarily increasing the voltage from the vehicle battery voltage, the rising of the braking force at the beginning of braking is improved. The boosting means is equipped with, for example, a small battery that adds a supply voltage to the motor drive circuit by opening / closing a switch when a sudden brake, a panic brake, or the like occurs, or the boosted on-board battery power supply voltage is It can be configured with inexpensive parts such as mounting a capacitor for storing electricity, and with small and lightweight parts. Therefore, compared to conventional technologies such as applying rare earth magnets to electric motors or using electric motors with a high rated voltage by providing a dedicated battery for brakes, it is cheaper and compresses the space in engine rooms, etc. In addition, an increase in vehicle weight can be suppressed to a small level, and the rising time of the braking force of the electric brake when a sudden brake, a panic brake, or the like occurs can be shortened, and the braking distance can be shortened.
