BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an outboard motor drive device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The outboard motor includes a drive device that transmits the rotational force of the drive shaft coupled to the crankshaft to the propeller shaft. The drive device includes forward (reverse) and reverse (reverse) gears that are rotatably provided on the propeller shaft, and a drive pinion gear that is provided on the drive shaft and constantly meshes with the forward and reverse gears. The propeller shaft is rotated forward or reversely by meshing a clutch dog provided on the propeller shaft between the gears with one of the forward and reverse gears by remote operation of the clutch mechanism. Further, a neutral position where the clutch dog is not meshed with any gear can be selected.

By the way, many ships are equipped with one outboard motor, but there are cases where two or more outboard motors are provided during ocean voyages. If two outboard motors are provided, if both propellers have the same rotational direction, the torque will cause the hull to tilt, reducing the straight-line stability. Thus, the above torque is canceled to maintain straight running stability.
[0004]
A general method for reversing the direction of rotation of the propeller is to change the structure of the shift device and use a conventional reverse gear as a forward gear, and this method is generally called counter rotation.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, when the reverse gear is used in the past, the engine speed is limited, so if the reverse gear is simply used as the forward gear, for example, when running at high speed, the propeller shaft and the bearing of each gear have a different load than usual. This adversely affects the contact between the forward and reverse gears and the drive pinion gear. As a result, the life of the bearings and gears is shortened.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in consideration of the above-described circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide an outboard motor drive device that extends the life of bearings and gears during counter rotation.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problem, an outboard motor drive device according to the present invention is provided on a forward and reverse gears provided on a propeller shaft and an output shaft of an engine as described in claim 1. A drive pinion gear that always meshes with the forward and reverse gears, and on the propeller shaft between the forward and reverse gears.A clutch dog,By operating the clutch mechanismWhen moving forward, the clutch dog is connected to the forward gear arranged behind the clutch dog, and when moving backward, the clutch gear is connected to the reverse gear arranged ahead of the clutch dog.By meshing,The above propeller shaftAgainst normalCounter rotation type outboard motor to be used in reverseDrive unitA front stepped portion is formed integrally with the propeller shaft behind the reverse gear, and is disposed in front of the reverse gear on a small-diameter propeller shaft portion formed by the front stepped portion ahead of the front stepped portion. And a propeller shaft that moves forward when a forward thrust bearing is disposed between the retainer and the shift cam housing immediately before the retainer and a cylindrical spacer disposed between the retainer and the front step portion. The propeller shaft is configured to transmit a thrust force to the retainer from the front step portion via a spacer and receive the thrust force transmitted to the retainer by a forward thrust bearing, and to the rear of the propeller shaft. The rear stepped portion having a diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the sleeve portion of the forward gear A reverse thrust bearing is disposed between the rear stepped portion and the propeller shaft bearing housing that supports the propeller shaft, and the thrust force applied to the propeller shaft during reverse travel is transferred from the rear stepped portion to the reverse thrust. It is configured to be received by the propeller shaft bearing housing via a bearing.
[0010]
Furthermore, in order to solve the above-described problems,Claim 2As described above, the shift cam housing that houses the shift cam constituting the clutch mechanism and the bearing housing for retaining the retainer are integrated.

[0043]
When the shift position is changed, for example, from forward to neutral and reverse by the shift operation of the clutch mechanism, the direction of the thrust force applied to the propeller shaft also changes. In other words, the thrust force applied to the direction of travel during forward travel is once lost during neutral travel and applied in the reverse direction during forward travel.
[0044]
When the thrust force applied to the propeller shaft disappears or reverses, the load on the bearing holding the propeller shaft also changes, which affects the contact between the forward and reverse gears and the drive pinion gear.
[0045]
Conventionally, there has been a taper bearing that receives the thrust force applied to the propeller shaft during forward travel, but the taper bearing locks the reverse gear in place when no load is applied due to its structure as in neutral. There was a problem that it was not possible. As a result, the reverse gear tiltsReverse gearAnd the tooth contact between the drive pinion gear and the life of both gears and bearings was changed.
[0046]
Also, when the thrust force applied to the propeller shaft during reverse travel is to be received on the front side of the forward gear, the forward gear must be drilled with a hole larger than the outer diameter of the thrust bearing, and the area of the meshing claw of the forward gear As a result, the durability decreases. Alternatively, there is a means for dividing the propeller shaft back and forth, but the number of parts increases and the assembly becomes complicated.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the outboard motor drive device of the present invention, the forward and reverse gears provided on the propeller shaft and the output shaft of the engine are always meshed with the forward and reverse gears. A drive pinion gear on the propeller shaft between the forward and reverse gearsA clutch dog,By operating the clutch mechanismWhen moving forward, the clutch dog is connected to the forward gear arranged behind the clutch dog, and when moving backward, the clutch gear is connected to the reverse gear arranged ahead of the clutch dog.By meshing,The above propeller shaftAgainst normalCounter rotation type outboard motor to be used in reverseDrive unitA front stepped portion is formed integrally with the propeller shaft behind the reverse gear, and is disposed in front of the reverse gear on a small-diameter propeller shaft portion formed by the front stepped portion ahead of the front stepped portion. Since it is configured to be received by the propeller shaft bearing housing via a bearing, there is no change in the tooth contact between the reverse gear and the drive pinion gear, and the life of these gears can be extended. Moreover, it becomes possible to enlarge the meshing claws of the clutch dog. Further, the drilling of the forward gear may be performed with the minimum diameter, the strength of the clutch dog engaging claw provided in the forward gear can be improved, and the number of parts can be reduced and the assembly can be facilitated.
[0054]
Furthermore, since the shift cam housing for accommodating the shift cam constituting the clutch mechanism and the bearing housing for retaining the retainer are integrated, it is possible to cope with different types of clutch mechanisms.
