BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a screen printing method and a printing machine for printing a paste such as a solder paste, an adhesive, or the like, which is made by kneading a solder alloy powder and a viscous flux onto a substrate such as a printed circuit board via a metal screen.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A screen printing method for printing a paste on a substrate set on a printing table using a metal screen having a pattern opening, a filling step for filling the opening in the screen with a paste, In a screen printing method comprising a plate separating step of separating the substrate and the screen to transfer the filled paste to the substrate, a position lower than the height position in the filling step after the filling step is completed. It is conventionally known that the plate is released by being displaced downward.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In a state where a pattern opening (hereinafter simply referred to as an opening) of a metal screen (hereinafter simply referred to as an opening) is filled with a solder paste, for example, the solder paste is adhered over the entire inner surface of the opening, Bonded on the substrate at the lower surface of the opening. In this state, when release of the plate is started by vertically lowering the substrate, the solder paste as a viscous material is pulled downward between the inner side surface of the opening and the substrate and stretched, that is, sheared. Deformation begins. In this case, although a large shear deformation occurs in the vicinity of the inner surface of the opening, the shear deformation hardly occurs at the bonding portion on the substrate corresponding to the opening. If the plate separation speed is too high, the solder paste filled in the opening is pulled quickly and strongly by the substrate, so that shear fracture occurs due to viscous shear force, and a relatively large amount of solder paste remains on the inner surface of the opening. In this state, the plate separation is completed, and a solder paste having a reduced amount and a deformed pattern is printed on the substrate (see D and E in FIG. 12). On the other hand, if the plate separation speed is slow, the shear deformation time becomes long and shear failure does not occur, but the viscous shear force is transmitted from the paste part near the inner surface of the opening to the paste part in the central part, and the continuous paste Since the brake acts on the flow as the behavior, not only the transfer speed is slowed, but also the transferability or detachability is deteriorated. That is, it can be said that the slower the plate separation speed, the worse the detachability of the solder paste filled in the opening.
[0004]
Solder paste screen printing usually uses a high-viscosity solder paste, and in addition, solder paste screen printing for surface mounting of microchip components at a fine pitch, the area of the opening and its area It is necessary to use a screen with an extremely small pitch, and the smaller the area or pitch is, the more difficult it is to remove the solder paste pinched in the opening, and proportionally to the solder paste substrate. In reality, the transfer rate of the toner is reduced, and good printing accuracy cannot be obtained.
[0005]
In addition, after the paste filling process is completed, according to the conventional method in which the printing table is linearly moved downward to a position lower than the height position in the filling process to separate the plate, the opening portion is opened after the start of the plate separating process. The filled paste is pulled downward and extends in a state where the central portion is recessed (see FIG. 12), but the screen adhered to the substrate via the paste gradually elastically deforms downward along with this. Recovery energy is accumulated. When the paste is pulled out from the opening and separated from the plate, the force that has been elastically deformed by pulling the screen downward is released at a moment. It is elastically deformed upward and at the same time it is elastically deformed downward by its reaction. This alternating elastic deformation in the vertical direction, that is, the vertical vibration continues until the restoration energy disappears, but the initial vertical vibration is abrupt and has a large amplitude, so that the vibration is transferred to the substrate. The screen is repetitively contacted with the paste and the pattern shape of the paste transferred to the substrate is easily damaged (see E in FIG. 12). With this, it is not expected to obtain high-quality screen printing with high printing accuracy.
[0006]
The present invention has a conventionally known screen printing method or apparatus for releasing a plate by lowering the printing table to a position lower than the height position in the filling step after completion of the paste filling step for each opening of the screen. The present invention has been made to eliminate and improve the above-mentioned drawbacks and disadvantages, and can achieve high efficiency of paste screen printing work, remarkable improvement of printing accuracy or quality, high density of printing, and the like. In particular, the main object of the present invention is to provide a screen printing method and a printing machine suitable for screen printing of a high-viscosity solder paste on a printed circuit board.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a screen printing method of a paste according to the present invention is a screen printing for printing a paste on a substrate set on a plane parallelogram printing table via a metal screen having a pattern opening. A paste filling step of filling a pattern opening of the screen with a paste, and a plate for pulling the substrate downward from the screen together with the printing table to transfer the paste filled in the opening to the substrate. In the screen printing method comprising the separation step, the printing table (3) of 1st to 4th Corner part (3A, 3B, 3C, 3D) or the fourth, third, and second corner portions (3D, 3C, 3B) from the first corner portion (3A) It is characterized by separating the plates by sequentially lowering.
[0008]
Further, the present invention provides a screen printing machine that prints a paste on a substrate set on a printing table via a metal screen having a pattern opening, and has a pattern opening on the substrate set on the printing table. Printing screen formed in a plane parallelogram in a screen printing machine that prints paste via a metal screen (3) And a support mechanism for supporting the printing table so that it can move up and down and tilt in any direction at the center of the lower surface thereof. (21) And the first to fourth corner portions of the printing table (3) after the paste filling process to the pattern opening (7) of the screen is completed. (3A, 3B, 3C, 3D) or the fourth, third, and second corner portions (3D, 3C, 3B) are sequentially pulled down from the first corner portion (3A). And a pull-down mechanism configured to separate the plates.
[0009]
Furthermore, in the screen printing method and the printing machine according to the present invention, the substrate is a printed circuit board on which a chip-like electronic component or the like is to be surface-mounted, and the paste is obtained by kneading a solder alloy powder and a high-viscosity liquid flux. It is the solder paste which becomes.

The viscosity of the solder paste changes depending on the temperature. Screen printing using a solder paste having a relatively low viscosity tends to cause so-called bleeding and drift, thereby damaging the printed shape and causing variations in printing accuracy. On the other hand, a high-viscosity solder paste with a viscosity of 800 to 1,200 cps is difficult to sag itself and less likely to drift, so it is suitable for high-precision printing, but is braked from the wall surface of the screen plate opening. For example, when performing fine pitch printing of about 0.3 mm to about 0.4 mm using a thin metal screen having a thickness of about 0.15 mm, the above-described conventionally known plate separation method is used. Therefore, it is not easy to obtain a high transfer rate and printing accuracy. However, according to the method of the present invention, even when using a very viscous solder paste having a viscosity of about 800 to 1,200 cps, this is the case. Even when fine pitch printing as described above is performed using a high-viscosity paste, the transfer rate and printing accuracy are extremely high. High Te, yet it is possible to perform a little clean screen printing of the original shape.
[0028]
Although the present invention has been described in detail with reference to the drawings, the screen printing machine according to the present invention is not limited to the illustrated example, and various modifications can be made within the scope of the claims. It can be implemented with modification.
[0029]
Since the screen printing method and the printing press according to the present invention are configured as described above, the disadvantages and inconveniences of the previously known screen printing methods and printing presses described above are eliminated and improved, and the paste screen printing operation is improved. The present invention can meet demands for higher efficiency, higher printing accuracy and quality, and higher printing density, and is particularly suitable for screen printing of high-viscosity solder paste on printed circuit boards.
