Description
【0001】
8a,8b,8c,8d(以下、適宜、振幅検出部8と総称する。)

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a flow meter for measuring a flow rate of a fluid.
[0002]
[Prior art]
An example of a conventional flow meter is shown in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 1-292212. This flow meter is provided with a vortex generator for generating a Karman vortex in a tube through which a fluid to be measured flows, and a pair of ultrasonic transmitters / receivers (ultrasonic sensors) are connected to the tube with the Karman vortex generation region in between. A set is provided to detect the frequency of Karman vortex generation by comparing the phase of the ultrasonic reception signals of the two receivers to determine the flow rate of the fluid to be measured.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in the flowmeter, it is desired to detect a failure of the ultrasonic transmitter / receiver. However, the conventional technique described above is inconvenient because it does not take such measures.
[0004]
As a countermeasure, an abnormality detection circuit is provided that determines that the ultrasonic transmitter / receiver is in an abnormal state when the amplitude (signal level) of the ultrasonic reception signal from the ultrasonic receiver becomes a certain value or less. It is possible. However, in this countermeasure, for example, when the inside of the tube is not full, a gas portion is generated in the tube, the ultrasonic wave is reflected by the interface with the liquid, the propagation of the ultrasonic wave is inhibited, and the amplitude of the ultrasonic reception signal is reduced. Even when the amplitude of the ultrasonic reception signal is temporarily reduced as described above, it is determined that the ultrasonic transmitter / receiver is in an abnormal state, and the above-mentioned request cannot be properly achieved. It was a fact.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a flowmeter capable of performing failure determination of an ultrasonic sensor with high accuracy.

【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the failure determination means switches the switch so that the ultrasonic transmitter of one set of the ultrasonic transmitter and the ultrasonic receiver is connected to the amplitude detection circuit, and another set of ultrasonic transmitters. And the ultrasonic transmitter is used as a transmitter for determination, ultrasonic waves are transmitted from the transmitter for determination, and the amplitude detection circuit transmits the set of ultrasonic waves transmitted from the transmitter for determination. An ultrasonic transmitter or ultrasonic wave in which the amplitude of the received ultrasonic wave is less than or equal to the reference value when it is determined that the amplitude of each ultrasonic wave received by the transmitter and the ultrasonic receiver is less than or equal to the reference value Since it is determined that the receiver has failed , the failure detection of the ultrasonic transmitter or the ultrasonic receiver can be reliably and accurately performed.
