Description
本発明に係るメタン発酵方法は、有機性廃棄物をメタン発酵するメタン発酵方法において、前記メタン発酵における発酵液に電極を接触させ、当該電極に電圧を印加しながらメタン発酵させることを特徴とするものである。
ここで、図1は本発明の第1の実施形態に係るメタン発酵装置101の概略構成図である。本実施形態に係るメタン発酵装置101は、主要な構成として、有機性廃棄物をメタン発酵する発酵槽11と、発酵槽11内の発酵液12に接触するように配備された電極40と、電極40の電位を制御する制御手段50を備えている。
本発明に使用できる電極は、電気的に安定なものであれば特に限定されることは無く、例えば多孔質炭素(グラファイト)、カーボンフェルト、カーボンファイバー、グラッシーカーボンなどの炭素質電極、白金などの貴金属電極、表面が白金などの貴金属でコーティングされた表面処理電極などを挙げることができる。
図5は炭素質電極のSEMイメージ図面であり、図5(A)は水素過電圧を高くする処理(化学修飾)を行ったカーボンフェルト電極を示すものであり、図5(B)は窒素雰囲気下1400℃で焼成処理したカーボンフェルト電極を示すものである。図5(A)に示す化学修飾カーボンフェルト電極は、表面に無数の小孔が形成されて表面積が大きくなっていることがわかる。

Claims (3)
- 有機性廃棄物をメタン発酵するメタン発酵方法において、
前記メタン発酵における発酵液に電極を接触させ、当該電極に電圧を印加しながらメタン発酵させ、電極制御手段により前記電極の電位を0.0Vより卑側から−1.0Vまでの範囲で調整することにより、該メタン発酵におけるメタン発生量を制御することを特徴とする、メタン発酵方法。 - 請求項1において、前記発酵液に二酸化炭素含有ガスを導入することを特徴とする、メタン発酵方法。
- 有機性廃棄物をメタン発酵する発酵槽と、
前記メタン発酵における発酵液と接触する電極と、
前記電極の電位を0.0Vより卑側から−1.0Vまでの範囲で調整することにより該メタン発酵におけるメタン発生量を制御する電極制御手段とを備えていることを特徴とする、メタン発酵装置。
