Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an ink jet recording apparatus, and more particularly to an ink jet recording apparatus to which a head unit that is shipped in a state where a buffer tank is filled with a storage solution is mounted.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in an ink jet recording apparatus that performs recording by ejecting ink onto a recording medium, ink is guided from an ink supply source to a plurality of ejection channels of an ink jet head through an ink flow path, and actuators such as a heating element and a piezoelectric element are provided. By selectively driving, ink is ejected from the ejection nozzle provided at the tip of the ejection channel. Normally, an ink cartridge containing ink is installed in a head unit equipped with an ink jet head, and ink droplets are ejected from the ink jet head that receives ink supplied from the ink cartridge. However, a large amount of ink is consumed. When printing is performed, an ink jet recording apparatus that can use a large-capacity ink cartridge without using an ink cartridge in the head unit is used.
[0003]
For example, as shown in Patent Document 1, a flexible tube connects between a manifold that distributes and supplies ink to each ejection channel of an inkjet head and an ink cartridge (ink tank) arranged separately from the head unit. However, there is an ink jet recording apparatus that circulates ink between them. In this type of ink jet recording apparatus, air that has permeated from the wall surface of the tube is mixed with ink to form bubbles, and these bubbles enter the ejection channel via the manifold, causing ejection failure. For this reason, in the ink jet recording apparatus shown in
[0004]
In such an ink jet recording apparatus, the head unit may be shipped from a factory without being mounted on the main body, or may be shipped alone for replacement. In order to smoothly introduce ink into the ink jet head when the head unit is initially mounted (first time), for example, as shown in

When the head unit is not used, the buffer tank is filled with a storage solution. further comprising means for introducing the preservation fluid into the ink jet head, the ink flow outlet, the said supply channel The meniscus is in a state in which the mouth end is sealed by the sealing member to which the preservative solution to form a filter having a fineness of eyes to which the preservation solution can not pass therethrough.
[0009]
In the ink jet recording apparatus having this configuration, the storage liquid filled in the buffer tank at the time of shipment of the head unit is introduced into the ink jet head before the ink is introduced by the introduction means. Can be wet with preservatives. In addition, since each of the plurality of injection nozzles and the opening end portion to the outside of the supply path can be sealed with a sealing member, the interior of the head unit is not communicated with the atmosphere, and the supply path is sealed. Due to the meniscus formed by the storage liquid, the storage liquid cannot pass through the filter, so that the storage liquid does not leak from the buffer tank into the inkjet head when the head unit is stored or transported.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the ink jet recording apparatus according to the first aspect of the present invention, the storage liquid filled in the buffer tank when the head unit is shipped is introduced into the ink jet head by the introducing means. The inside can be wetted with a preservative solution. Therefore, when ink is introduced into the inkjet head following the storage solution, the ink is easily adapted to the inner wall surface of the inkjet head that has already been wetted by the storage solution, and bubble nuclei are formed between the wall surface and the ink. Since it is difficult, ink can be spread to every corner.
In addition, since each of the plurality of ejection nozzles and the opening end portion to the outside of the supply path can be sealed with the sealing member, the interior of the head unit is not communicated with the atmosphere. Therefore, drying and leakage of the storage solution in the buffer tank can be prevented. Furthermore, in the state where the supply path is sealed, the storage liquid cannot pass through the filter due to the meniscus formed by the storage liquid, so that the storage liquid does not leak from the buffer tank into the inkjet head. Therefore, the storage liquid does not leak due to vibration during shipping and transportation and does not dry in the ink jet head, and clogging of the injection nozzle or the like can be prevented.
