【Technical field】
The present invention relates to a molding mounted on an outer surface of a vehicle and a manufacturing method thereof.
[0002]
[Prior art and its problems]
Various moldings such as belt molding, door sash molding, and door lower molding (step molding) are mounted on the outer surface of the vehicle. These moldings generally have a molding body having a substantially inverted U-shaped cross section and an end cap attached to the end of the molding body. Between the molding body and the end cap, various types of materials can be used depending on the material. A fixed structure has been proposed. For example, when the molding body is mainly made of metal and the end cap is made of synthetic resin, a structure is proposed in which a recess is formed in the end cap, and a part of the metal molding body is bent into this recess to prevent falling off. In addition, when both the main material and the end cap of the molding body are made of polypropylene (PP), both are fixed by heat caulking.
[0003]
In the latter combination of materials, since they are the same resin, they are strongly bonded to the resin melted by heat caulking. On the other hand, since PP has a property that it is difficult to bend and is easy to break (brittle), it was practically impossible to provide a clip integrally with the end cap (end cap and clip are integrally formed). The clip is for fixing the molding body to the vehicle outer surface such as a door panel, and requires a certain elastic deformation at the time of mounting, and PP cannot meet this requirement.
[0004]
A polyacetal (POM) resin is known as a material having properties (elasticity) preferable as a clip. Therefore, a preferred end cap with a clip can be formed by forming the end cap from POM and integrally molding the clip thereto. However, the end cap made of POM has a problem in the bonding property with a molding body mainly composed of PP. In other words, even if the contact surface of the molding body made of PP and the end cap mainly composed of POM is simply heated, the molten resin mixed with POM and PP has a weak bond with PP (POM), and the end cap There is a risk of falling off easily.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to obtain a molding capable of firmly bonding both in a combination in which the main material of the molding body is made of PP and the end cap with a clip is made of POM, and a manufacturing method thereof.
[0007]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a molding body having a molding body having a substantially inverted U-shaped cross section mounted on the outer surface of a vehicle and an end cap mounted on an end portion of the molding body. It is made of resin, the end cap is made of polyacetal resin, the end cap has an insertion portion inserted into the inverted U-shaped cross section of the molding body, and a clip for attaching the molding body to the outer surface of the vehicle. It is formed integrally, and a concave portion is formed by heat caulking from the inner surface of the molding main body to the end cap insertion portion at the portion where the molding main body and the end cap insertion portion overlap, and the concave portion. The depth at which the tip reaches the end cap insertion There are, and to the formation in the manner the molten resin layer is formed over the entire inner wall and molding the body inner surface, the it said.
[0008]
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a molding method comprising: forming the molding body from polypropylene resin as a main material; and inserting an end cap into the inverted U-shaped section of the molding body using a polyacetal resin. A step of integrally forming the molding body with a clip for attaching to the outer surface of the vehicle; and heat caulking from the inner surface of the molding body toward the end cap insertion portion in a portion where the molding body and the end cap insertion portion overlap. Forming a recess by pressing the jig, and forming a melted resin layer over the entire inner wall and the inner surface of the molding body at the depth of the recess reaching the end cap insertion portion. It is characterized in that it is formed in such a manner.
[0009]
When the concave portion extending from the inner surface of the molding main body to the end cap insertion portion is formed by heat caulking in this manner, the molten resin layer is firmly bonded to each other so that it does not easily fall off.
The molding body can be entirely composed of PP, but generally, a design material made of metal (generally stainless steel) or a different resin is often provided on the surface. “Using PP as the main material” means that even if the whole is not PP, the overlap portion with the end cap insertion portion may be PP.
[0010]
For the cross-sectional shape in the direction perpendicular to the depth direction of the recess (cross-sectional shape in the direction perpendicular to the length direction of the heat caulking jig), for example, one of a circle, a polygon including a triangle, and a star shape may be used. it can. In general, a cross-sectional shape having a large surface area of the molten resin layer is preferable, but is determined in consideration of ease of manufacture.
[0011]
Further, the concave portion has a stepped small diameter concave portion or a tapered small diameter concave portion (a heat caulking jig forming the concave portion has a stepped small diameter portion or a tapered small diameter portion at the tip portion), and the molten resin layer The surface area is increased, and in particular, the tapered small diameter portion (small diameter concave portion) is more preferable because the molten resin easily flows to the inner surface of the molding body.
