【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、軟包装材で構成され、開口部にプラスチック製のジッパーを取り付けたジッパー付袋の製造方法並びに、その製造方法に用いるジッパー開口部サイドシール装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来より、プラスチックフィルム等の軟包装材で構成され、開口部にプラスチック製のジッパーを取り付けたジッパー付袋が使用されており、その一つとしてガセットタイプのジッパー付袋も知られている。このガセットタイプのジッパー付袋を製袋し、内容物を充填し、シールする方法の一つとして、縦型ガセット充填装置を用いる方法が知られている。この方法では、連続した帯状の軟包装材の所定位置に、雄側部材と雌側部材を互いに係合させた状態のジッパーを、軟包装材に対して直角方向に取り付け、ジッパー付の軟包装材を充填製袋部分に送って、ガセット袋に製袋しながら内容物を充填し、その後、ジッパーを構成する雄側部材と雌側部材をそれぞれに向かい合う袋内面にヒートシールすると共に袋の頂部をヒートシールし、且つ製袋した袋を切り離すという動作を行っている。図9(a)、(b)はこの方法で製造されたガセットタイプのジッパー付袋1を概略的に示す斜視図及び正面図、図10は図9(b)のA−A概略断面図、図11(a)はジッパー付袋1のジッパー取付部分の袋側縁領域を示す概略平面図、図11(b)は図11(a)のB−B概略断面図、図11(c)は図11(a)のC−C概略断面図である。このガセット袋1は、軟包装材2で形成されており、上端の開口部に頂部シール3を形成し、その少し下にジッパー4を取り付けてジッパー開口部を形成した構成となっている。ここで、ジッパー4は、図11(c)から良く分かるように、雄側部材4aと雌側部材4bとからなり、雄側部材4aは突起状の嵌合部分4aaと平板部4abを備え、雌側部材4bは嵌合部分4aaを嵌合させる溝を形成した嵌合部分4baと平板部4bbを備えている。そして、このジッパー4は、平板部4ab、4bbの嵌合部分4aa、4baよりも上側の領域(図9、図11にハッチング6で示す領域)を向かい合う軟包装材2にヒートシールして取り付けられている。なお、図示は省略しているが、ジッパー4を製袋前の軟包装材に取り付けるため、雌側部材4bの平板部4bbの嵌合部分4baよりも下側の領域が軟包装材2に貼り付けられている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、従来製造されていたガセットタイプのジッパー付袋1では、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分の溶着が不完全で微小な隙間が残るという問題があった。すなわち、ジッパー4を袋内面に溶着するには、ジッパーの溶着すべき領域6を袋の両側から熱板ではさみつけ、ヒートシールしているが、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分には、図10から良く分かるように、軟包装材2の折り込み部分があるため、4枚の軟包装材が重なっており、この部分で袋の外側から熱板を押し当ててジッパー4の平板部4ab、4bbをそれぞれに面する軟包装材2、2にヒートシールするため、ヒートシール性が悪く、特に、軟包装材2の折り目部分のヒートシール性が悪く、図11(b)に示すように、折り目の内側に微小な隙間9(図面では誇張して示している)が残ってしまうという問題があった。ジッパー付袋1は、開口部先端に頂部シール3を形成しているため、袋を開封するまではジッパー4の端部の外側に微小な隙間9があっても、外部には連通しないが、この隙間9があると内容物がジッパー4と頂部シール3の間に漏れ出すことがあり、見栄えが悪くなる。また、開封後は、ジッパーを閉じてもこの隙間9から外部に連通するため、内容物が劣化したりすることもあり、衛生上好ましくない。

この問題を解決するには、ジッパー4の平板部4ab、4bbをそれぞれに面する軟包装材2、2にヒートシールするためのヒートシール時間を長くすることが考えられるが、単に時間を長くするのみでは、ヒートシール効率が悪いため、十分な効果を得られず、しかもシール時間を長くすると生産性が低下するので好ましくない。また、製袋後に別工程でジッパー開口部のサイド部分をヒートシールすることも考えられるが、ヒートシールすべき領域は、図9、図11に示す狭い領域6であるため、位置決めが困難であり(袋1の形態が不安定なことがあるため)、ヒートシール時に熱板がジッパー4の嵌合部分に当たって良好なシールができないという問題が生じる。

本発明はかかる問題点に鑑みてなされたもので、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分に生じがちな隙間をなくして、漏れを防止したジッパー付袋を製造する方法並びにその製造方法に用いるジッパー開口部サイドシール装置を提供すること課題とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上記課題を解決するため、製造するジッパー付袋の構成を、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分に位置するジッパー端部の、少なくとも嵌合部分をほぼ扁平に押しつぶした形状とし、そのサイド部分の軟包装材及びジッパーを一体に溶着したものとする。このようにジッパーの端部を押しつぶした状態で軟包装材を溶着した構成とすることで、軟包装材の折り目を含むサイド部分を溶着する際に、嵌合部分が邪魔にならず、このためジッパー端部の嵌合部分があった領域を含む広い領域に熱板を当ててヒートシールすることが可能となり、隙間の無い溶着を行って、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分に漏れのない袋とすることができる。

このジッパー付袋を製造する本発明の一つの方法は、連続した軟包装材の所定位置に軟包装材の長手方向に対して直角方向にジッパーを取り付け、そのジッパー付軟包装材を筒状に成形して背貼りを行い、その筒状の軟包装材に底部シールを施して製袋し、充填、ジッパーの袋内面へのシール、袋の頂部シール及び袋の切り離しを行って個々に切り離した形態の袋を形成し、その後、形成した袋のジッパー開口部のサイド部分に位置する前記ジッパーの端部の少なくとも嵌合部分を袋の外側から超音波ホーンを用いて押しつぶし、次いでそのサイド部分を、袋の外側から熱板を押し当ててヒートシールすることを特徴とする。このようにジッパーの端部を超音波ホーンを用いて押しつぶすことにより、きわめて敏速にジッパー端部の押しつぶしを行うことができ、その後、押しつぶした部分をヒートシールすることで、安定して且つ隙間を生じることなく溶着でき、敏速にジッパー開口部のサイド部分に漏れのないジッパー付袋を製造できる。

上記したジッパー付袋を製造する本発明の第二の方法は、連続した軟包装材の所定位置に軟包装材の長手方向に対して直角方向にジッパーを取り付け、且つその前後に前記ジッパーの端部の少なくとも嵌合部分を超音波ホーンを用いて押しつぶし、そのジッパー付軟包装材を筒状に成形して背貼りを行い、その筒状の軟包装材に底部シールを施して製袋し、充填、ジッパーの袋内面へのシール、袋の頂部シール及び袋の切り離しを行って個々に切り離した形態の袋を形成し、その後、形成した袋のジッパー開口部のサイド部分を、袋の外側から熱板を押し当ててヒートシールすることを特徴とする。この方法においても、ジッパーの端部を超音波ホーンを用いて押しつぶすことにより、きわめて敏速にジッパー端部の押しつぶしを行うことができ、製袋後に、その押しつぶした部分を含むジッパー開口部のサイド部分をヒートシールすることで、安定して且つ隙間を生じることなく溶着でき、敏速にジッパー開口部のサイド部分に漏れのないジッパー付袋を製造できる。

ジッパー開口部のサイド部分のシールに用いる本発明の第一のジッパー開口部サイドシール装置は、筒状に成形して背貼りを行った軟包装材で構成され、開口部にプラスチック製のジッパーを取り付け、且つ内容物を充填して上下端を閉じた構成のジッパー付袋を保持して所定の搬送経路に沿って間欠的に搬送する搬送手段と、前記搬送経路の一つの停止位置に配置され、その位置に停止したジッパー付袋のジッパー開口部のサイド部分に位置するジッパー端部の少なくとも嵌合部分を袋の外側から押しつぶす超音波ホーン及び受台を備えたジッパー押しつぶし装置と、その下流の一つ若しくは複数の停止位置に配置され、その位置に停止したジッパー付袋のジッパー開口部のサイド部分を、袋の外側から熱板を押し当ててヒートシールするヒートシール装置と、更にその下流の停止位置に設けられ、前記ヒートシール装置で加熱したサイド部分を冷却する冷却装置を備えたことを特徴とする。この構成により、搬送手段がジッパー付袋を複数の停止位置に停止させながら間欠搬送し、その停止位置を順次通過するジッパー付袋に対して超音波ホーン及び受台がジッパー開口部のサイド部分に位置するジッパー端部を押しつぶし、ヒートシール装置が、そのサイド部分を、袋の外側から熱板を押し当ててヒートシールし、冷却装置がヒートシールした領域を冷却して溶着を確実とし、これにより、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分に漏れのないジッパー付袋を製造できる。

ジッパー開口部のサイド部分のシールに用いる本発明の第二のジッパー開口部サイドシール装置は、筒状に成形して背貼りを行った軟包装材で構成され、開口部に、プラスチック製のジッパーであって端部の少なくとも嵌合部分を押しつぶした形態のジッパーを取り付け、且つ内容物を充填して上下端を閉じた構成のジッパー付袋を保持して所定の搬送経路に沿って間欠的に搬送する搬送手段と、前記搬送経路の一つ若しくは複数の停止位置に配置され、その位置に停止したジッパー付袋のジッパー開口部のサイド部分を、袋の外側から熱板を押し当ててヒートシールするヒートシール装置と、更にその下流の停止位置に設けられ、前記ヒートシール装置で加熱したサイド部分を冷却する冷却装置を備えたことを特徴とする。この構成により、搬送手段がジッパー付袋を複数の停止位置に停止させながら間欠搬送し、その停止位置を順次通過するジッパー付袋に対して、ヒートシール装置が、押しつぶしたジッパー端部を含むサイド部分を、袋の外側から熱板を押し当ててヒートシールし、冷却装置がヒートシールした領域を冷却して溶着を確実とし、これにより、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分に漏れのないジッパー付袋を製造できる。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明で製造するジッパー付袋は、上記したように、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分に位置するジッパー端部の、少なくとも嵌合部分をほぼ扁平に押しつぶした形状とし、そのサイド部分の軟包装材及びジッパーを一体に溶着したものである。ジッパー付袋の形態は、ジッパーを備えたものであれば任意であり、例えば、ガセットタイプ、ピロータイプ、サイドシールタイプ等を挙げることができる。以下、ガセットタイプを例にとって本発明の実施の形態を詳細に説明する。

図1(a)は本発明で製造するガセットタイプのジッパー付袋の1例を示す概略斜視図、(b)はその概略正面図、図2(a)はそのジッパー付袋のジッパー開口部のサイド部分の概略正面図、(b)、(c)、(d)はそれぞれ、(a)のD−D概略断面図、E−E矢視断面図、F−F矢視断面図であり、図9〜図11に示す従来例と同一部品には同一符号を付している。図1、図2において、このジッパー付袋1Aはガセット袋であり、全体を軟包装材2で形成されており、上端の開口部に頂部シール3を形成し、その少し下にジッパー4を取り付けた構成となっている。このジッパー4も、図2(c)から良く分かるように、雄側部材4aと雌側部材4bとからなり、雄側部材4aは突起状の嵌合部分4aaと平板部4abを備え、雌側部材4bは嵌合部分4aaを嵌合させる溝を形成した嵌合部分4baと平板部4bbを備えている。そして、このジッパー4は、平板部4ab、4bbの嵌合部分4aa、4baよりも上側の領域(図1、図2にハッチング6で示す領域)を向かい合う軟包装材2にヒートシールして取り付けられている。これらの構成は図9〜図11に示す従来例と同様である。

ッパー付袋1Aは、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分に位置するジッパー4の端部4Aの嵌合部分を押しつぶしてほぼ扁平としている。そして、その押しつぶした部分を含むサイド部分(図1、図2にハッチング7で示す領域)にある軟包装材2をジッパー4に溶着し且つ互いに溶着している。このようにジッパー端部を押しつぶした状態で溶着した構成とすることで、ジッパー開口部のサイド部分のシール領域7を確実に溶着でき、サイド部分に漏れのない袋を形成できる。ここで、ジッパー4端部の押しつぶした領域は、ジッパー長手方向にはジッパー端部から3〜5mm程度までとすればよく、ジッパーの幅方向には全幅でもよいし、嵌合部分4aa、4baのみでもよい。シール領域7は、ジッパー長手方向には押しつぶした領域の大部分を含み、且つ袋の側縁までとするのがよい。また、ジッパー幅方向には、ジッパー全幅を含み更にその外側に及ぶ領域でもよいし、ジッパーの幅方向の一部領域のみを含む領域でもよいが、確実な溶着を行うにはジッパー全幅を含む領域とするのが好ましい。

次に、このジッパー付袋1Aの製造方法及び製造装置の例を説明する。図3はジッパー付袋1Aの製造装置の1例を示す概略斜視図である。この装置は、大別して製袋充填装置21と、ジッパー開口部サイドシール装置22で構成されている。製袋充填装置21は、連続したジッパーの供給源24からジッパー4を引き出し、所定長さに切断して、連続した帯状の軟包装材2の所定位置に軟包装材の長手方向に対して直角方向に貼り付けるジッパー貼り付け装置25と、ジッパー4を取り付けた軟包装材2を筒状に成形して背貼りを行うと共に両側面を内側に折り込み、且つ筒状に成形した軟包装材内に内容物を充填する製袋充填部27と、筒状に成形した軟包装材2を上下に離れた2個所で横方向にシールして底部シール及び頂部シールを形成すると共にその間を切断するシール切断装置28と、このシール切断装置28と同時に作動し、ジッパー4の取付部分の軟包装材2を外側から加熱、加圧してジッパー4の雄側部材4a(図2参照)と雌側部材4bをそれに接触する軟包装材2にヒートシールするジッパーシール装置29等を備えている。この構成により、供給源24からジッパー4が引き出され、連続した軟包装材2の所定位置に、ジッパー4が所定長さに切断されて軟包装材の長手方向に対して直角方向に貼り付けられ、そのジッパー付軟包装材2を用いて製袋(軟包装材2の筒状への成形、背貼り、底部シール等)、充填、ジッパーの袋内面へのシール、袋の頂部シール及び袋の切り離しが行われ、個々に切り離された形態で且つ図9〜図11に示す形態のジッパー付袋1が連続的に製造される。

図3において、ジッパー開口部サイドシール装置22は、製袋充填装置21から排出されるジッパー付袋1を受け取る位置に配置され、製袋充填装置21から排出されるジッパー付袋1を受け取って所定の搬送経路に沿って間欠的に搬送する搬送手段(図示せず)を備えている。この実施の形態における搬送手段は、ジッパー付袋1を直立状態で保持するバケット32(図4〜図7参照)を複数個、同心円上に一定ピッチで配置したターンテーブルを備えており、該ターンテーブルが間欠回転することで、バケットに保持したジッパー付袋1を1ピッチずつ円形状の搬送経路に沿って間欠的に搬送する構成となっている。以下、バケットの主要な停止位置をS1〜S7として、各停止位置に設けている装置及びその動作を説明する。なお、図面では停止位置S1〜S7を連続した位置とし、停止位置S7とS1を大きく離しているが、これは説明用であって、必要に応じ、停止位置S1〜S7の間に更に停止位置を設けてもよく、また、停止位置S7とS1の間を短くしてもよい。

停止位置S1は、ジッパー付袋1の受け取り位置であり、上方から排出されてくるジッパー付袋1をバケットに直立状態で受け取るようになっている。停止位置S2は袋トップならし位置である。この位置には、図4に示すように、バケット32に保持されているジッパー付袋1のトップ部分1aをはさむ位置関係で配置された一対のならし部材34及びそれを往復動させるシリンダ装置35を備えた袋トップならし装置33が設けられている。図4(a)に示すように、供給されてきたジッパー付袋1のトップ部分1aは、必ずしも直立しているとは限らず、斜めになっていることがある。そこで、この位置S2にジッパー付袋1が送られてきて停止すると、図4(b)に示すように、一対のならし部材34がジッパー付袋1のトップ部分1aをはさんでその姿勢を直立状態に矯正する。これにより、ジッパー付袋1のトップ部分1aは直立状態に姿勢を矯正されて、次の位置に送られる。

停止位置S3はジッパー押しつぶし位置である。この位置には、図5に示すように、バケット32に保持されているジッパー付袋1のジッパー4の両端をはさむ位置関係で配置された超音波ホーン38及びそれを往復動させるシリンダ装置39と、受台40及びそれを往復動させるシリンダ装置41を備えたジッパー押しつぶし装置37が設けられている。ここで、超音波ホーン38のジッパー付袋1に対する押し付け位置は、図5(b)に示すように、ジッパー4の両端の3〜5mm程度を押しつぶすことができるように定められている。この位置S3では、ジッパー付袋1が送られてきて停止すると、図5(c)に示すように、超音波ホーン38が受台40で支持されたジッパー付袋1の外側からジッパー4に超音波振動を加え、これによってジッパー4を発熱させて敏速に軟化させ、嵌合部分4aa、4ba(図2参照)をほぼ扁平に押しつぶす。ここで、ジッパー4の端部の押しつぶしに超音波ホーンを用いたことで、ヒートシールに通常に用いられている熱板を用いる場合に比べてきわめて敏速にジッパー4を軟化させて押しつぶすことができる。なお、超音波ホーン38による加圧、加熱操作を適切な時間だけ行うことで、ジッパーを押しつぶすと共に軟包装材を隙間を残さない形態に溶着することもできるが、超音波溶着は条件管理がきわめて困難であり、溶着時間や出力が大きくなると溶着部分に孔があく等の損傷を生じ、一方小さいと溶着が不十分となってしまう。そこで、この停止位置S3では確実な溶着までは行わず、主としてジッパー4の押しつぶしを行う。

停止位置S4は第一ヒートシール位置である。この位置には、図6に示すように、バケット32に保持されているジッパー付袋1のジッパー4の両端をはさむ位置関係で配置された一対の熱板44及びそれを往復動させるシリンダ装置45を備えたヒートシール装置43が設けられている。ここで、熱板44のジッパー付袋1に対する押し付け位置は、図6(b)に示すように、ジッパー4両端の押しつぶした領域を含むジッパー開口部両端のサイド部分(図1、図2に示す領域7)としている。この位置S4では、ジッパー付袋1が送られてきて停止すると、一対の熱板44がジッパー付袋1をはさみ付けて加熱し、軟包装材及びその内側のジッパーを加熱、加圧して融着させる。ここで、熱板44によるジッパー付袋1の加圧、加熱位置を、ジッパー4の両端の押しつぶした位置としているので、バケット32に保持されたジッパー付袋1の位置精度が多少悪くても(ジッパー4の高さ方向の位置が変化しても)、ジッパー4の両端部を良好に加圧、加熱できる。また、溶着に熱板44を用いたことで、加熱時間を精密にコントロールしなくても、軟包装材を加熱し過ぎて損傷させるということがなく、安全に且つ安定して加熱、溶着できる。

停止位置S5は第二ヒートシール位置であり、この位置にも第一ヒートシール位置と同様なヒートシール装置43が設けられ、送られてきたジッパー付袋1のジッパー開口部両端のサイド部分を更に加熱、加圧して融着させる。これにより、サイド部分が隙間の無い状態に確実に溶着される。なお、この実施の形態では、ヒートシールのために二つの停止位置S4、S5を用い、2段でヒートシールしているが、1段のヒートシールで確実なシールを確保できれば1段でも良いし、2段で不足なら3段以上のヒートシールを行っても良い。

停止位置S6は冷却位置であり、この位置には、図7に示すように、バケット32に保持されているジッパー付袋1の、先にヒートシールした領域の両端をはさむ位置関係で配置された一対の冷却板48及びそれを往復動させるシリンダ装置49を備えた冷却装置47が設けられている。この位置S6では、ジッパー付袋1が送られてきて停止すると、一対の冷却板48がジッパー付袋1の、先にヒートシールした領域をはさみ付けて冷却し、固化させる。これにより、ジッパー開口部両端を隙間のない形態で溶着したジッパー付袋1Aが製造される。停止位置S7は排出位置であり、製造されたジッパー付袋1Aを排出させる。

以上のように、図3に示す装置では、製袋充填装置21が連続的に、内容物を充填し頂部シールを施したガゼットタイプのジッパー付袋1を製造し、ジッパー開口部サイドシール装置22がそのジッパー付袋1を受け取り、停止位置S1〜S6を順次間欠的に搬送しながら、ジッパー両端を押しつぶし且つジッパー開口部両端のサイド部分を隙間のないように確実に溶着し、排出する。かくして、図1に示すような、ジッパー開口部両端のサイド部分に漏れのないジッパー付袋1Aが連続的に生産性良く製造される。

なお、図3に示す製造装置は、製袋充填装置21とジッパー開口部サイドシール装置22を直結し、製袋、充填、頂部シール、ジッパー取付のためのシール及びジッパー開口部のサイド部分のシールをインラインで実施しており、きわめて効率良く、ジッパー付袋1Aを製造できる利点を有している。しかしながら、ジッパー開口部サイドシール装置22は、必ずしも製袋充填装置21に直結して設けなくてもよく、製袋充填装置とは別の場所に設け、別の場所で製造したジッパー付袋1を運んできて、そのジッパー付袋1のサイド部分のシールを行うように用いてもよい。
