【0021】
<作用>

[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A liquid crystal layer is sealed with a sealant in a gap between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a predetermined voltage is applied to the liquid crystal layer on at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate. In a liquid crystal display panel having a liquid crystal driving circuit, the liquid crystal driving circuit is provided on at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate and overlaps with an opening from which at least one side is removed. It is.
[0014]
In this case, the liquid crystal driving circuit may be provided in a portion overlapping the sealing material.
[0020]
Further, the first or second substrate may be a plastic substrate.
[0021]
<Action>
In the liquid crystal display panel of the present invention, the liquid crystal driving circuit mounted on the first substrate or the second substrate has a structure in which both the first substrate and the second substrate overlap. By adopting the above configuration, since the first liquid crystal driving circuit provided on the first substrate has been provided outside the outer shape of the second substrate, the second substrate outer shape and the first liquid crystal driving are conventionally provided. The length of the circuit and the first board outline was large from the second board outline to the first board outline. However, the configuration of the present invention, that is, the first board and the second board overlapped with each other. By providing one liquid crystal driving circuit, it becomes possible to determine the length between the second substrate outer shape and the first substrate outer shape without being influenced by the size of the first liquid crystal driving circuit. The lengths of the second substrate outline and the first substrate outline can be shortened.
[0022]
Similarly, by providing the second liquid crystal driving circuit provided on the second substrate in the overlapping portion of the first substrate and the second substrate, the size depends on the size of the second liquid crystal driving circuit. In other words, it is possible to determine the length between the first substrate outline and the second substrate outline, that is, it is possible to shorten the length between the first substrate outline and the second substrate outline. .
[0023]
Further, by providing a liquid crystal driving circuit in a portion where the sealing material that overlaps between the first substrate and the second substrate is provided, the outer shape of the substrate can be reduced without reducing the display area.
[0024]
In the liquid crystal display panel of the present invention, the signal electrode terminal connected to the signal electrode provided on the first substrate and the first liquid crystal driving circuit connected to the first extraction electrode, or provided on the second substrate are provided. A data electrode terminal connected to the data electrode and a second liquid crystal driving circuit connected to the second extraction electrode are provided, and display is performed by applying a predetermined voltage to the signal electrode and the data electrode provided on both sides of the liquid crystal layer. In order to reduce the length of the portion for mounting the first liquid crystal driving circuit or the length of the portion for mounting the second liquid crystal driving circuit from the outer periphery of the display area including a plurality of pixel portions, Alternatively, a recess is provided in the second substrate, and a liquid crystal driving circuit is inserted into the recess. Further, the liquid crystal driving circuit is used as part of a seal used for enclosing the liquid crystal layer. By adopting the above configuration, the thickness of the liquid crystal driving circuit thicker than the thickness of the liquid crystal layer can be absorbed by the recess provided in the substrate. Furthermore, the seal portion can be shortened by using the liquid crystal driving circuit as a portion of the seal. Therefore, the length from the display area to the substrate outer shape can be shortened.
[0025]
In addition, the signal electrode terminal on the first substrate and the connection between the first extraction electrode and the first liquid crystal driving circuit are made by connecting the liquid crystal driving circuit and each terminal by using conductive particles contained in the sealing material. The connection can be stabilized. The same applies to the second substrate and the second liquid crystal driving circuit.
[0026]
In addition, by providing an opening in a region of the second substrate that overlaps with the first liquid crystal driving circuit mounted on the first substrate, the thickness of the second substrate or the first liquid crystal driving circuit The first liquid crystal driving circuit can be provided in a portion corresponding to the overlapping region of the first substrate and the second substrate without depending on the thickness. Further, when the first liquid crystal driving circuit is mounted on the first substrate, the first liquid crystal driving circuit can be directly pressed, so that the alignment accuracy with each terminal can be improved and the connection can be stabilized. Become. The same applies to the second substrate and the second liquid crystal driving circuit.
[0027]
Further, by using the opening, the connection from the take-out electrode of the first substrate to the external circuit can be connected to the first liquid crystal driving circuit through the side wall of the opening. Therefore, the length of connection between the extraction electrode and the external circuit can be reduced. Further, the electrodes are rearranged on the first liquid crystal driving circuit through the liquid crystal driving circuit and the side wall of the opening, and the first liquid crystal driving circuit is connected to an external circuit to thereby form the first liquid crystal driving circuit. The length necessary for connecting the extraction electrode and the external circuit can be shortened by the length of the first liquid crystal driving circuit. Also with respect to the second substrate and the second liquid crystal driving circuit, It is the same.
[0028]
In addition, the opening provided in the second substrate corresponding to the first liquid crystal driving circuit removes the side of the portion facing the outer shape of the second substrate, thereby reducing the side of the outer shape of the second substrate. Since the processing accuracy and strength for providing are required, the length from the opening to the substrate outer shape is required, and thus the second substrate outer shape can be reduced by removing the sides.
[0029]
In the case of a glass substrate, for example, a sound blasting method is used for processing the recess or opening provided in the substrate, in which fine particles are accelerated and collide with the substrate to process the substrate. In the case of a plastic substrate, there is an infrared laser processing or a die cutting method.

【The invention's effect】
As is clear from the above description, in the liquid crystal display panel of the present invention, the liquid crystal driving circuit mounted on the first substrate or the second substrate has a structure in which both the first substrate and the second substrate overlap. To do. By adopting the above configuration, since the first liquid crystal driving circuit provided on the first substrate has been provided outside the outer shape of the second substrate, the second substrate outer shape and the first liquid crystal driving are conventionally provided. The length of the circuit and the first board outline was large from the second board outline to the first board outline, but the configuration of the present invention, that is, the first board and the second board overlapped with each other. By providing one liquid crystal driving circuit, it becomes possible to determine the length between the second substrate outer shape and the first substrate outer shape without being influenced by the size of the first liquid crystal driving circuit. The lengths of the second substrate outline and the first substrate outline can be shortened.
[0060]
Similarly, by providing the second liquid crystal driving circuit provided on the second substrate in the overlapping portion of the first substrate and the second substrate, the size depends on the size of the second liquid crystal driving circuit. In other words, it is possible to determine the length between the first substrate outline and the second substrate outline, that is, it is possible to shorten the length between the first substrate outline and the second substrate outline. .
[0061]
Further, by providing a liquid crystal driving circuit in a portion where the sealing material that overlaps between the first substrate and the second substrate is provided, the outer shape of the substrate can be reduced without reducing the display area.
[0062]
[0063]
In addition, the signal electrode terminal on the first substrate and the connection between the first extraction electrode and the first liquid crystal driving circuit are made by connecting the liquid crystal driving circuit and each terminal by using conductive particles contained in the sealing material. The connection can be stabilized. The same applies to the second substrate and the second liquid crystal driving circuit.
[0064]
[0065]
[0066]
In addition, the opening provided in the second substrate corresponding to the first liquid crystal driving circuit removes the side of the portion facing the outer shape of the second substrate, thereby reducing the side of the outer shape of the second substrate. Since the processing accuracy and strength for providing are required, the length from the opening to the substrate outer shape is required, and thus the second substrate outer shape can be reduced by removing the sides.
[0067]
In the case of a glass substrate, for example, a sound blasting method is used for processing the recess or opening provided in the substrate, in which fine particles are accelerated and collide with the substrate to process the substrate. In the case of a plastic substrate, there is an infrared laser processing or a die cutting method.
