Description
【0001】

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, the EL element of the present invention will be described in detail.

[0012]
As the plurality of anode lines including the transparent conductive film in the present invention, ITO (indium tin oxide), indium zinc oxide, zinc aluminum oxide, or the like can be used.
[0013]
As the plurality of cathode lines including the metal layer in the present invention, MgAg, AlLi, CuLi or the like can be used.
[0014]
The luminescent medium in the present invention includes 9,10-diarylanthracene derivatives, salicylates, pyrenes, coronene, perylene, rubrene, tetraphenylbutadiene, 9,10-bis (phenylethynyl) anthracene, 8-quinolinolato lithium, tris (8-quinolinolato) aluminum complex (hereinafter abbreviated as Alq), N, N′-diphenyl-N, N′-bis (3-methylphenyl) -benzidine (hereinafter abbreviated as TPD), tris (5,7-dichloro, 8-quinolinolato) aluminum complex, tris (5-chloro-8-quinolinolato) aluminum complex, bis (8-quinolinolato) zinc complex, tris (5-fluoro-8-quinolinolato) aluminum complex, tris (4-methyl-5- Trifluoromethyl-8-quinolinolato) aluminum complex, tris (4-methyl-5-cyano-8-quinolinolato) Aluminum complexes, bis [8- (paratosyl) aminoquinoline] zinc complexes and cadmium complexes, 1,2,3,4-tetraphenylcyclopentadiene, pentaphenylcyclopentadiene, poly-2,5-diheptyloxy-P-phenylene Examples include vinylene, and fluorescent substances and N, N ′ diaryl-substituted pyrrolopyrrole compounds mentioned in JP-A-4-31488, US Pat. Nos. 5,141,671 and 4,769,292, but are particularly limited to the above examples. is not.
[0015]
The conductive material used for the metal bus line which is the main feature of the present invention includes Ni, Cu, Cr, Ti, Fe, Co, Au, Ag, Al, Pt, Rh, Pd, Pb, Sn, or these metals It is preferably selected from an alloy containing one or more elements.
[0016]
The metal bus lines made of these materials preferably have as low resistance as possible at both ends of the line, preferably 1000 ohms or less, and more preferably 100 ohms or less. However, the width of the metal bus line is preferably 1/4 or less, more preferably 1/10 or less, of the maximum width of the pixel in order to ensure the transmittance of EL light. In addition, since the resistance of the bus line cannot be sufficiently reduced when the line width is 1/20 or less of the width of the cathode line, it is desirable that the line width is larger than 1/20 of the maximum width of the pixel.
[0017]
For example, when a bus line having a length of 7 cm is formed using a metal mainly composed of copper having a resistivity of 2 × 10 −6 Ω · cm for a width of 100 μm of the cathode line, the width of the bus line is set to the pixel width. If 10 μm of 1/10 and the height is 4 μm, the resistance value at both ends of the bus line is about 18 ohms, which is one-eighth the resistance of the cathode line consisting of only the cathode, and the drive voltage due to the voltage drop across the cathode line Can be prevented.
