ディスプレイに、印刷に必要な各種機能や条件等の印刷情報を標準設定から変更するための設定操作画面を表示し、この設定操作画面にて操作し設定した内容を一覧表示させるものが知られている。そして、従来は、図１１に示すように、ディスプレイ１の表示画面に、プリンタドライバで設定できるすべての機能や条件等の印刷情報を設定変更の有無にかかわらず列記して表示していた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、このようにプリンタドライバで設定できるすべての印刷情報を単に一覧表示させるのみのものでは、設定状態を総合的に理解するのが困難であった。また、色調整をイラスト表示するものがあるが、単に色合いを示すもので、設定状態を総合的にイラスト表示するものではなかった。

そこで、本発明は、ディスプレイに設定操作画面と設定結果表示画面を並べて表示し、設定結果表示画面に印刷情報の設定結果を、総合的にイラスト表示させるか、文字によって一覧表示させるかを切替えることができ、これにより、設定状態を総合的に理解することができ、しかも、イラスト表示、一覧表示の確認が容易にできる印刷情報設定装置を提供する。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、ディスプレイに、複数のタブの中から任意のタブを選択することにより、各タブの内容に応じて、印刷に必要な各種条件を標準設定から変更するための設定操作画面を表示する手段と、前記複数のタブのいずれを選択した場合にも、前記ディスプレイの同一の場所に、前記設定操作画面にて設定された設定結果を表示する設定結果表示画面を前記設定操作画面と並べて表示する手段と、前期設定結果表示画面の近傍に固定配置され、前記設定結果表示画面に印刷情報の設定結果を総合的にイラスト表示させるか、前記設定結果表示画面に印刷情報の設定結果を文字によって一覧表示させるかを切替える手段と、前記設定結果表示画面に設定結果が文字によって一覧表示された状態で、前記複数のタブの名称とともに、前記設定操作画面により標準設定から変更が加えられた内容のみ表示を行わせる手段と、前記設定結果表示画面に設定結果が文字によって一覧表示された状態で、一覧表示された各タブの名称の中からいずれかを選択すると、設定操作画面をそのタブに対応した設定操作画面に切替える手段と、を備えている。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を、図面を参照して説明する。
図１は印刷情報設定装置の構成を示すブロック図で、１１はホストコンピュータ、１２はこのホストコンピュータ１１によって表示制御されるディスプレイ、１３は前記コンピュータ１１に外部から情報を入力するキーボードやマウス等の入力装置、１４は前記ホストコンピュータ１１によって駆動制御されるプリンタ、１５はＣＤ−ＲＯＭを駆動し、プログラムデータ等を読取って前記ホストコンピュータ１１に供給するＣＤ−ＲＯＭドライブである。

前記ホストコンピュータ１１は、プログラムとしてオペレーションシステム（ＯＳ）１６やアプリケーションソフト１７を設け、ＯＳ１６に前記プリンタ１４を駆動制御するプリンタドライバ１８を設けている。

前記プリンタドライバ１８に、印刷に必要な色調整等の各種機能や条件等の印刷情報を設定する場合、ホストコンピュータ１１は前記ディスプレイ１２に図５に示す表示を行う。すなわち、画面右側には標準設定から変更するための設定操作画面２１を表示し、画面左側には設定結果を表示する設定結果表示画面２２を前記設定操作画面２１と並べて所定の位置に表示している。

前記設定結果表示画面２２は、色調整やステイプル、両面印刷等の印刷情報の設定結果を、用紙イメージを用いて総合的にイラスト表示、あるいは、印刷情報の設定結果を文字によって一覧表示するようになっている。そして、前記設定結果表示画面２２の、すぐ下にキーボタン「Graphics」２３ａ、「Text」２３ｂを配置し、この各キーボタン２３ａ，２３ｂによって、印刷情報の設定結果を、用紙イメージを用いて総合的にイラスト表示させるか一覧表示させるか切替えるようになっている。

すなわち、Setupタブ上において、前記設定結果表示画面２２には、前記キーボタン「Graphics」２３ａをマウスでクリックすることで図５に示すように用紙イメージのイラスト表示が行われ、また、前記キーボタン「Text」２３ｂをマウスでクリックすることで図６に示すように印刷情報の設定結果の一覧表示が行われる。そして、前記設定結果表示画面２２及びキーボタン２３ａ，２３ｂは、タブがSetupからPrint Job、Lay out、Color/Qualityなど他のタブに切替えられてもその位置及び表示内容は変化しないようになっている。

前記設定結果表示画面２２に印刷情報の設定結果の一覧表示を行う場合は、プリンタドライバを開いた状態のときの標準設定から変更した内容のみを表示するようになっている。これにより、設定内容に関係のない情報は省略されるので、ユーザは設定内容確認を容易に行うことができる。

前記設定結果表示画面２２に用紙イメージのイラスト表示が行われている状態では、図２に示す処理を行うようになっている。すなわち、Ｓ１にて、入力データの読み込みを行うと、Ｓ２にて、入力データにより、対応する画像を更新し、Ｓ３にて、更新した画像を表示画像メモリに格納する。そして、Ｓ４にて、変更があった項目に対応する画像パーツに変更し、Ｓ５にて、前記ディスプレイ１２の設定結果表示画面２２に表示させる。

また、前記設定結果表示画面２２に印刷情報の設定結果の一覧表示が行われている状態では、図３に示す処理を行うようになっている。すなわち、Ｓ１１にて、入力データの読み込みを行うと、Ｓ１２にて、入力データにより、対応するテキストデータを更新し、Ｓ１３にて、更新したテキストデータを表示画像メモリに格納する。そして、Ｓ１４にて、変更があった項目に対応するテキストデータに変更し、Ｓ１５にて、前記ディスプレイ１２の設定結果表示画面２２に表示させる。

前記設定結果表示画面２２に印刷情報の設定結果の一覧表示が行われている状態では、表示されている各項目がそれぞれの設定操作画面にリンクしており、ある項目をマウスでクリックすると、その項目にリンクした設定操作画面２１が表示される。すなわち、図４に示すように、Ｓ２１にて、設定結果表示画面２２の一覧表示において変更する項目をクリックすると、Ｓ２２にて、設定操作画面２１をそのクリックした項目にリンクしているその項目の設定操作画面２１に切替える。

このように、設定結果表示画面２２には切替えによって、設定内容の用紙イメージ表示と文字による設定内容の一覧表示ができる。従って、設定した内容を設定項目の文字のみでなく、プリンタ１４から出力される用紙のイメージで把握することができ、設定状態を総合的に理解することができる。しかも、イラスト表示、一覧表示を同一の設定結果表示画面２２で切替えて行うので、両表示の確認が容易にできる。

以上、本発明によれば、ディスプレイに設定操作画面と設定結果表示画面を並べて表示し、設定結果表示画面に印刷情報の設定結果を、総合的にイラスト表示させるか、文字によって一覧表示させるかを切替えることができ、これにより、設定状態を総合的に理解することができ、しかも、イラスト表示、一覧表示の確認が容易にできる。
