BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an apparatus for irradiating an electron beam irradiation target article with an electron beam.
[0002]
Electron beam irradiation on articles is performed for the purpose of, for example, crosslinking of polymer materials such as wire coating materials, curing of coating films, and sterilization of medical products. In addition, attempts have been made to sterilize plants such as potatoes by irradiating with an electron beam or to stop germination.
[0003]
For example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 11-192078 discloses an electron beam irradiation apparatus that irradiates a surface of the food by irradiating a vegetable energy in a dry state such as spices and dried vegetables with a low energy electron beam. . The electron beam irradiation device disclosed in this publication places a vegetable food on a plate-like trough that is driven to vibrate, moves the trough while rotating by the vibration, and drops it on a belt conveyor from the end of the trough, At that time, the food is irradiated with an electron beam.
[0004]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-29000 discloses that when an electron beam is irradiated onto an object to be irradiated such as a granular material, an electron beam irradiation processing space is generated by X-rays generated when the electron beam hits a transport mechanism of the object to be irradiated. In order to suppress the generation of ozone from the atmosphere (usually air), it is disclosed that the atmosphere is replaced with nitrogen.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, according to the inventor's research, there are the following problems in performing an intended treatment by irradiating an article with an electron beam.
That is, taking potato as an example, if it is compared with other articles, it is long like a rugby ball, both ends are slightly thinner than the center, and there are many indentations at several places.
[0007]
And when irradiating an electron beam to the surface of the elongate or slightly elongate potato in this way, the electron beam is usually irradiated while being transported while being rotated around its longitudinal axis so as to be easily rotated. It is conceivable to pass the potatoes on an oscillating inclined plate or a conveyor, and to jump the potatoes irregularly, move them while rotating them, and pass them through the electron beam irradiation region.
[0008]
However, as illustrated in FIG. 7 (A), the electron beam irradiation means E is merely required to pass the potato W through the electron beam irradiation region while being conveyed around the longitudinal axis wcl on the conveyor C. Since the electron beam e from is emitted only in a certain direction, it is difficult to irradiate the electron beam into the recesses r1 and r2 that may also exist at both ends w1 and w2 in the longitudinal direction of the potato.
[0009]
In this regard, when passing potatoes on an oscillating inclined plate or conveyor and applying vibration to the electron beam irradiation region, the potatoes pass through the electron beam irradiation region while irregularly jumping or rotating. It is considered that an electron beam is easily irradiated into the dents at both ends of the potato in the longitudinal direction.
[0010]
However, when it comes to articles of the size of potatoes, unlike individual small items such as granular materials, it is difficult to jump or rotate sufficiently irregularly unless large vibration energy is given. . Therefore, if a large vibration energy is to be applied, the electron beam irradiation apparatus including the vibration applying means becomes large and expensive. Furthermore, the electron beam emitted from the electron beam irradiating means is easily attenuated due to an enlarged mechanism portion, and the electron beam irradiation efficiency is lowered.
[0011]
Further, as an improvement of the method of passing the potato through the electron beam irradiation area while rotating around the longitudinal axis, the potato W is rotated as illustrated in FIG. 7B. Two electron beam irradiation means E1 and E2 are installed on the transport conveyor C to be transported, and the potato W that is transported while being rotated by the conveyor C is irradiated with the electron beam e from the upper left and right. It is also conceivable to irradiate the electron beam e over the entire surface of the potato W including the inner surfaces of any of the recesses r1 and r2 at the ends w1 and w2.
[0012]
However, when two electron beam irradiation means are provided in this way, the entire electron beam irradiation apparatus becomes large and expensive.
In addition, although the above description pointed out the problem in an electron beam irradiation process taking the example of a potato, such a problem is not restricted to a potato, and is an object which is an electron beam irradiation process object, Comprising: When viewed from a plane, it is elliptical It is long in a certain direction, such as an oval, egg shape, rectangular shape, etc., and has a recess such as a dent or dent at one or both ends in the longitudinal direction. This is a problem that applies widely to things that are difficult to rotate.
[0013]
Therefore, the present invention is long in a certain direction such as an ellipse, an ellipse, an egg shape, a rectangle, etc. when viewed from the plane, and a recess such as a dent or a dent at one or both ends in the longitudinal direction. It is an object to provide an electron beam irradiation apparatus that can irradiate the entire surface of the article including the inner surface of the recess with an electron beam irradiation treatment target article and that can be provided at a low cost. To do.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides the following two types of electron beam irradiation apparatuses.
(1) A first electron beam irradiation apparatus.
An electron beam irradiation unit for emitting an electron beam from an electron beam irradiation window;
An article conveying surface arranged to face the electron beam irradiation window, and comprising at least two rows of article conveying conveyors for conveying articles in opposite directions;
Each article conveying conveyor conveys an electron beam irradiation target article placed on the article conveying surface while rotating it around a direction transverse to the article conveying direction (in other words, around an axis transverse to the article conveying direction). The article conveyance surface of one conveyor of the two rows of conveyors is lowered to the left around the direction when viewed in the article conveyance direction at least in the electron beam irradiation area facing the electron beam irradiation window. It includes an inclined part that inclines to the right (or to the left and to the right), and the article conveyance surface of the other conveyor is inclined in a direction opposite to the inclination of the inclined part of the one conveyor at least in the electron beam irradiation area. An electron beam irradiation apparatus including an inclined portion that performs.
[0015]
According to this electron beam irradiation apparatus, the electron beam irradiation target article is placed on the article conveyance surface of one conveyor of the two rows of article conveyance conveyors and conveyed while rotating, and the electron beam irradiation unit of the electron beam irradiation unit It can be passed through the electron beam irradiation area facing the window. The article conveyance surface of the one conveyor is at least in the electron beam irradiation region, as viewed in the article conveyance direction, around the direction (in other words, around the axis in the direction), and to the left and right (or left) The product is inclined at the inclined part, so that the electron beam is irradiated from obliquely upward rather than from directly above.
[0016]
Therefore, even when there is a recess such as a recess or a recess at the end of the article that is lifted, the recess can be irradiated with an electron beam. Furthermore, according to the size, shape, etc. of the article to be irradiated with the electron beam, the inclination angle of the inclined portion of the conveyor article transport surface is set so that the electron beam is also irradiated into the recess at the end of the article. The electron beam can be irradiated over a wide surface portion of the article, including the inner surface of the recess at the end of the article that has been lifted.
[0017]
Thus, an article irradiated with an electron beam using one conveyor is left as it is, that is, without substantially turning around the longitudinal axis, and more specifically, the article that is directed to the opposite side of the other conveyor. Transfer the end part onto the article conveying surface of the other conveyor toward the one conveyor, convey it while rotating it on the other conveyor, and pass it through the electron beam irradiation area by the same electron beam irradiation unit. Can do.
[0018]
The article conveying surface of the other conveyor is inclined in the direction opposite to the inclination of the inclined portion of the one conveyor at least in the electron beam irradiation region around the article conveying direction (in other words, around the axis in the direction). The article is inclined at the inclined part, so that the electron beam is irradiated not from directly above but from an obliquely upper side opposite to the case of using the one conveyor.
[0019]
Therefore, even when there is a recess such as a dent or a dent at the opposite end of the article, the electron beam can be irradiated into the recess. Furthermore, according to the size, shape, etc. of the article, the inclination angle of the inclined portion of the article conveying surface of the other conveyor so that the electron beam is also irradiated into the recess at the opposite end of the article. Can be set so that the electron beam can be irradiated over a wide surface portion of the article including the inner surface of the recessed portion at the opposite end of the article.
[0020]
By reciprocating the electron beam irradiation area while rotating the article in two inclined directions as described above, the article including the inner surface of the recess can be provided even when one or both of the article ends have a recess. The target treatment can be performed by irradiating the entire surface with an electron beam.
[0021]
In addition, only one electron beam irradiation unit is required, and vibration applying means for irregularly jumping and rotating the article to irradiate the entire surface of the article is not necessary. Can be provided at low cost.
[0022]
The operation of transferring the article from the one conveyor to the other conveyor may be performed manually by an operator, but the article conveyed by one of the two rows of conveyors may be transferred from the article delivery end of the conveyor to the other. You may further provide the transverse feed conveyor moved to the article supply end of this conveyor.
[0023]
As the article conveying conveyor, for example, a roller group that is arranged in parallel to a direction crossing the article conveying direction and forms the article conveying surface on a roller peripheral surface, and a roller group feeding device that sends the roller group in the article conveying direction And a roller rotating device that rotationally drives each roller in the roller group so as to rotate an article that is placed on the roller group and conveyed.
[0024]
Further, as the article conveying conveyor, a roller group that is arranged in parallel in a direction crossing the article conveying direction and forms the article conveying surface on a roller peripheral surface, and each roller in the roller group is rotatably supported. Roller group feeding device for feeding the roller group in the article conveying direction, and an article rotating device for rotating the article in contact with the article placed on the roller group and conveyed while being arranged above the roller group The conveyor containing these can also be illustrated.
[0025]
Next, a second type of electron beam irradiation apparatus will be described.
(2) Second electron beam irradiation device
An electron beam irradiation unit for emitting an electron beam from an electron beam irradiation window;
An article conveyance conveyor arranged so that an article conveyance surface faces the electron beam irradiation window,
The article conveying conveyor conveys an electron beam irradiation target article placed on the article conveying surface while rotating around an article transverse direction (in other words, around an axis transverse to the article conveying direction). The article conveyance surface is a conveyor, and at least in an electron beam irradiation area facing the electron beam irradiation window, an inclined part inclined upward and downward to the left and an inclined part inclined upward and downward to the left around the article conveyance direction. Including at least one
The electron beam irradiation window extends in the article conveying direction of the conveyor so as to face at least one of the left-up and right-down inclined portions and at least one left-down and right-up inclined portions of the article conveying surface of the conveyor. Electron beam irradiation device.
[0026]
According to the second electron beam irradiation apparatus, the electron beam irradiation target article is placed on the article conveyance surface of the article conveyance conveyor and conveyed while rotating, and the electron beam facing the electron beam irradiation window of the electron beam irradiation unit. It can be passed through the irradiation area.
[0027]
The article conveyance surface of the conveyor is an inclined portion that is inclined upward and downward to the left and right around the article conveyance direction (in other words, around the axis in the direction) at least in the electron beam irradiation area facing the electron beam irradiation window. And at least one inclined portion (inclined portion inclined in the opposite direction) inclined leftward and upwardly to the left. Accordingly, the articles conveyed by the conveyor are tilted in opposite directions at each of the two inclined portions, so that an electron beam is irradiated from the diagonally upper left and right rather than from directly above.
[0028]
Therefore, even when there is a recess such as a recess or a recess at the end of the article that is lifted, the recess can be irradiated with an electron beam. Furthermore, according to the size, shape, etc. of the article to be irradiated with the electron beam, the inclination angle of the inclined portion of the conveyor article transport surface is set so that the electron beam is also irradiated into the recess at the end of the article. The electron beam can be irradiated over the entire surface of the article, including the inner surface of the recess at the raised end of the article.
[0029]
Thus, by passing the article through the electron beam irradiation region while rotating the article in a tilted manner in two directions, the article surface including the inner surface of the recess is provided even when there is a depression at either or both article ends. The target treatment can be performed by irradiating the whole with an electron beam.
[0030]
In addition, only one electron beam irradiation unit is required, and vibration applying means for irregularly jumping and rotating the article to irradiate the entire surface of the article is not necessary. Can be provided at low cost.
[0031]
As the article conveying conveyor in the second apparatus, for example, a roller group which is arranged in parallel to a direction crossing the article conveying direction and forms the article conveying surface on a roller circumferential surface, and the roller group in the article conveying direction. A roller group feeding device for feeding, and a roller rotating device for rotating each of the rollers in the roller group so as to rotate an article which is placed on the roller group and conveyed. At least in the electron beam irradiation area facing the electron beam irradiation window, the plurality of sequentially arranged at least one roller group in the roller group rises to the left around the article conveying direction (around the axis in the direction). Feed while tilting downward to the right, and at least one additional group of rollers arranged in sequence around the article conveyance direction (around the axis in that direction) Mention may be made of a conveyor to send while inclined to Ri.
[0032]
Further, as the article conveying conveyor, a roller group which is arranged in parallel to a direction crossing the article conveying direction and forms the article conveying surface on a roller peripheral surface, and each roller in the roller group is rotatably supported. Roller group feeding device for feeding the roller group in the article conveying direction, and an article rotating device for rotating the article in contact with the article placed on the roller group and conveyed while being arranged above the roller group The roller group feeding device includes at least one of the plurality of sequentially arranged roller groups in the roller group around the article conveying direction at least in the electron beam irradiation region facing the electron beam irradiation window. It is fed while being inclined to the left and right (around the axis in this direction), and a plurality of at least one group of rollers arranged in sequence are arranged around the article conveying direction (the axis in the direction). Can also be exemplified a conveyor for sending while) it is inclined to the lower left upper right around.
